  1. Have you driven a car with carbon brakes though? They aren't exactly great at low speed, feel unusual. TBF Porsche ones are pretty good but the ones coming out of nearly other manufacturer seem to be crap in town.
  2. Its just that you cant open the pan roof as it'll hit the rack. There's no differences in terms of attachments
  3. As mentioned multiple times in other threads, the ML system is one that is for audiophiles. In other words, music is reproduced and heard as it was intended by the artist. Therefore, compared to over amplified and artificial bass setups in most modern cars now, it will seem to lack punch to the average owner. Worth remembering that the source on ML is very important. The best sound quality by far comes from DVD-A. Next, I would say USB or CD. Dont even bother with the radio or bluetooth
  4. Bloody hell £54.85 for an MOT! Even Lexus charge me £27 - half price with a service plan Everywhere else seems to do it for £30-35. Must be paying "down south" money you guys!
  5. going from 50 to 55 is going to make no noticeable difference. Ive recently changed wheels on my sons Golf. Went from 195/65r15 to 205/55r16 with no change in ride quality.
  6. Extended warranty is not a factory warranty it's essentially an add on. So they can state their own conditions
  7. I've had the 2RX, 3RX F-Sport (same chairs as Advance etc), 4RX and 3IS F-Sport. They all are pretty much the same in terms of how soft they are. The main difference is the bolstering. You do slide around much more in the standard seats, the F-Sport bolsters just stop that from happening. All cars were relatively firm when I got them to the point where I was thinking "what have I done" but they loosen up fairly well once the miles pile on.
  8. Lexus Leicester is Sytner Sytner is a pile of dog poo anyway
  9. It was done by Lexus approved bodyshop But my dealer, who organised the transportation of the car to them and back (70 mile round trip) said that Lexus does not pay out for any corrosion claims on bodywork which has been repaired previously by a non Lexus approved repairer
  10. Have they hell! They'll take another 3-4 months to work that out unless he claims liability
  11. Im not so sure. The seats are quite firm to begin with in any new Lexus. They take about 6 month to 1 year to loosen up.
  12. An update - spoke to 3rd party insurance and they said it could take up to 6 months to get excess back. Admiral law said they'll try to get it back within 3 weeks for £100 unless I have legal protection on my home insurance which I do. They said they would go through them Additionally, after enquiring I discovered that the Lexus 12 year corrosion warranty is void if not repaired at a Lexus approved repairer
  13. So this saga appears to be coming to an end. The car is now back with us and whoever did it, has done a fine job. Cant even tell that it was there! I checked to see whether its been a bumper change, but nope, I remember a light scratch on the bootlid which is still there so it appears its been repaired, rather than replaced! Either way, its a good job so I dont care! Now, to claim that £450 excess from the 3rd party insurance company.....
  14. The Lexus Extended Warranty T&Cs state that all services after the period of extended warranty is taken out should be done at a Lexus dealership otherwise it is rendered invalid. What mileages, dates and by whom have the services been carried out? If there is any independent/chain servicing apart from Lexus, they won't cover anything. Lexus are generally very very good with warranty repairs under extended warranty so I would double check as it is more than likely that something is off, so to speak
  15. Get it done at around 55868 - you can go over by 1k miles or 1 month
  16. Missed this post. The above seems to have a raised boot floor which you can pull up . Probably is down to the spare wheel rather than the battery. The photo of the other one has a large lip
  17. Except the excess is £400. I'd get quotes first because it doesn't look like £400 worth of damage!!
  18. Hence why they have a standard version and will have a GT version Weight saving is probably going to be around 100-150kg. It won't get to anywhere near 300kg like the original GT car
  19. If they're the LED headlights, they wont need to be changed. I think the xenons will though
  20. But its not long in the car world. Cars nowadays get facelifted every 3 years and overhauled every 6 years. Most of these overhauls use some parts which are exactly the same as before. Unless its a Porsche 911 that is...
  21. You're comparing apples to oranges. The 3RX came out in 2009, the ML system hasnt changed since then. The 3IS came out in 2013......
  22. Well there are 192 registered in total which isn't too bad considering it cost north of £70k Thats nearly as many LC's as IS-F's on the road.
  23. Most likely the V8 will still be there. Its just a facelift by looks of it so engine should remain the same.
  24. And neither does an S coupe AMG from an AMG-Line, so I dont think its a huge issue. Make it like the above and it would drastically kill sales.
  25. You have to understand that ML is a company aimed at audiophiles i.e. music should sound exactly like it did when recorded and how the artist intended. Nowadays, the bass is heavily amplified in a lot of other brands like HK and Bose to name a few I still haven't come across any system which is circa £1k and has the clarity of ML, at any volume. But, they do need to be played fairly loud to get the full benefit, and with a good source. I tried DVD-A in my previous RX and it was very very good. USB appears to be close enough as are CDs but no point even listening to anything off bluetooth or radio
