  1. Good effort there - you should take over from the "Pro Detailer" especially at the rates some of them charge nowadays!
  2. They've made them bigger to make way for the NX, which is the same size as the RX400h.
  3. Sometimes knocking can be heard just because the pads move around in the calipers
  4. Dead cheaper than in the UK!
  5. Looks pretty good. The black plastic wheel arches are quite large. I think the car will look good in darker colours.
  6. Yep that looks like the one.
  7. That would make sense though as surely the smaller engines would be under a lot of load at higher speeds. On the other hand, the CHR, Prius and Prius PHEV are all under the Euro 6 limit anyway.
  8. As above, could be the EGR valve but I would certainly get the codes checked again to make sure its not the DPF!! Unfortunately, Lexus and Diesels don't mix very well, hence why there are so few of them around.
  9. Ngenco would be the only option I would consider on them tbh
  10. Only way to repair them properly is to have them sent back to the factory 🙂 TBH I would just get them powdercoated - much easier to maintain.
  11. Its a well known fact it can't be repaired and if god forbid it does get into even a small shunt, it will most likely be written off immediately. If the scratch is minor, it can be polished. Did you get the full works done on the car? As in Full ceramic coating? I would recommend it immensely on Structural blue to atleast protect it somewhat.
  12. I presume they did their checks before they gave you the warranty right? And how long ago was it that you purchased the warranty because some of these issues don't exactly pop up overnight.
  13. Its only real use is in heavy traffic and supermarket car parks. Other than that I agree it is nigh on useless The most efficient way to drive the hybrid is to let it do its own thing.
  14. Surely it depends on how they tested it. If it's being tested on the motorway it's going to be really high anyway. I'm sure other manufacturers are the same, just look at VW dieselgate. Other manufacturers were found to have high emissions too
  15. I would expect the radiator to be replaced under warranty. The shocks are a bit hit/miss. Some owners get them done under warranty, others have a hard time pushing for it but they should really be covered. Bushes are wear and tear so I dont expect those to be covered. Wheel alignment the same. Air filter would be wear and tear too. Try and get the radiator done under warranty unless its been damaged by a rock or something.
  16. Dont subscribe to Which? car guide but they're taking the royal mick if they think the IS emissions are high Motorway fuel economy is fine - you can easily get 50mpg on the motorway with a steady foot - again, talking out of their royal backsides
  17. Ahhh lucky.... otherwise someone would have thought you stole the thing and was exporting over to Africa
  18. Using spare wheels as road wheels during an MOT is an instant fail.
  19. Thats not true On the older system, you could drive away as long as the previous MOT was valid. For example, if you're MOT ran out on 30th August and it failed on testing on 24th August, you could still take it away as you have a valid MOT in place. However, its now changed and the new MOT takes over the old one. Having said that, a garage can not stop you from leaving or putting a spare wheel on. It is your choice if you want to drive off providing you know the risks. Personally, I would chance it and just go to be honest. The chances of being caught are extremely slim
  20. Yes, didn't care, were just like "oh ok then" but took a £25 admin fee to make the change
  21. I thought the first guy sounded familiar He's a massive reviewer of headlight bulbs!
  22. I get my dealer to do most basic stuff for free. Wipers cost £30 from Lexus dealer inc fitting, tyre fitting is £12.50 per tyre and they discount all their initial prices meaning an air con recharge is about £60 which seems to be the going rate. I would change dealers to be honest. Lexus Edinburgh is only 40 mins away
  23. The hesitation is definitely there from a standstill and I felt that too which I posted in my review of the IS200t back when it came out. The noise which sounds like a lamb dying is the ASC - just turn it off. Its exactly the same as in the 300h. The tuning company which I took my son's Golf to says they can remap the 200t to 280hp which should be plenty and change the gearbox mapping as well.
  24. Its all a game. Insurance companies do what they want! My son's insurance is less than yours - 22yo paying £600 on a remapped 1.4TSI (122) Golf pushing out 150hp+ which is now faster than the IS! I pay that much on my RX and have three times the experience and 10 times the no claims..... figure that one out.
  25. This man must speak from experience 😂
