  1. The 200t is certainly the more sporty offering. I think the tax was quite a chunk more than the IS300h is. The 200t's are rare though and therefore command a little bit of a premium. Whilst driving, the turbo lag is minor, its only from a standstill where it takes a bit to get going but its not much different to the IS300h. Drive both, see what you think.
  2. Confirms my suspicions. A grand total of 2.5cm by the looks of it. Spread that on both sides and it's nothing. Pretty sure Merc SUVs are wider Oh I forgot to add I have no issues with the track pads but I've been using them for years. The haptic feedback is annoying though but I usually turn it off.
  3. Doesnt make any perceptible difference in the 300h
  4. It depends. Ive driven the LC a number of times and I dont think its even that wide. It barely feels any wider than the RX, certainly not that I would notice in normal driving. I don't think its wider than an SUV either. I would assume the sat nav thing is a software issue - probably will have an update but they take time as the car is fairly new. Im yet to come across decent auto high beam systems yet. They all do funny things and manual override is just better. Ive had the headlight sensors to minimum in all my Lexus vehicles - just works better. The germans have sensitivity issues as well. VW for example turns the lights on in broad daylight sometimes. I dont have the surround camera system on my RX and that much longer than an LC is and nearly as wide. I think the LC is a car for the countryside - I certainly wouldn't bother having one in the city.
  5. BMW M240i goodyears vs michelin ps4 The michelins are great on a warm day but in the wet on a relatively cold day the Goodyears are definitely stickier. Ive actually bought some for the IS now - Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3. The IS probably doesnt even need them but they were cheap so why not
  6. I meant on the RCF I'd choose the Goodyear eagles. They're just a better all round tyre and better in colder weather than the PS4s are
  7. Just had a thought - aren't the speakers in the new ML system those fancy Eco speakers which use much less power?
  8. I always buy the tyres and then get them fitted by Lexus - £50 for 4. Dont have to worry about chunks being taken out of the rim either with their fancy machines - they've got all the rubber kit on and its fully automated! Goodyear Eagles would be my choice.
  9. Ohhhh yes my mistake. Yours are the newer advance wheels aren't they? Yes they're diamond cut. Unfortunately corrosion and diamond cut go hand in hand. No manufacturer can solve that problem. The finish just isn't made for the UK. Were these not black chrome plated? I believe they do need special care as well. Again not a finish for the UK climate. I'd disagree with quality of the wheel finish. All my Lexus vehicles since 2012 have had no wheel issues. The original IS F Sport, 3RX and 4RX finishes providing they aren't diamond cut are corrosion free
  10. The third generation Rx wheels shouldn't corrode. I had mine for 5 years with no bubbles anywhere - original f sport wheels no refurbs and it did pick up a little nick on 1 wheel due to kerb I'd imagine they've been refurbed in the past. £120 +vat is a joke. My dealer charges £80+vat on 19+ wheels. £60+ vat on 18 and below. They're not even diamond cut
  11. I would check the equaliser settings too btw. The ML sounds ridiculously flat with no equaliser settings tweaked. Additionally, CD is not the best. I'd use USB instead, it sounds much better
  12. The selection tone has no effect on camera beeps. They will still occur.
  13. Yep I would second that. Spark plugs degrade over usage, not time. They just sit there when not used. The dealers are not flexible in the servicing. For example, a 6 year old car with 25k on it will have its 6 year/60k service. Ideally, there should only be Lexus Intermediate and Lexus Full services with additional work at the required time rather than having "mileage services" as such. One of the reasons why I went with Lexus essential care for my wifes car as hers is going to be 6 years old with only 20k on it and they want to change the spark plugs! lol
  14. When you lock the doors yes unless you've left a reading light on. In which case it will stay on until the car detects low battery and then everything will turn off.
  15. Usually near the seatbelt height adjuster. In most cases the b pillar plastic needs to be removed
  16. Looks like its ready for winter with those steelies on
  17. Well i think the whole system is a bit of an attempt to help drivers who can't guess the correct speed limit of a road. The older system on my RX was much better. It was just built into the sat nav system and would get speed limit info from there.
  18. More than likely to be the b pillar. Check that first
  19. The orange suits the car I think
  20. Cars of this nature are usually stolen to order. Lexus probably ranks amongst the lowest on the stolen list tbh. The German cars are in high demand, especially the S, RS, M and AMG models. Id stick with the faraday cover and call it a day tbh. If I had an LC, it'd be a different story.
  21. The guy who did my son's Golf said he can do most Lexus vehicles. The IS250 would see minimal gains however. The IS200t on the other hand can push out 270hp on a stage 1.
  22. Tyres, wheel balancing and bearing would be the first things to check. Also check the brakes. Sticking calipers can cause vibration at high speed.
  23. The speed camera recognition only seems to work for extremely obvious signs. Mine is hit and miss. It pops up on the HUD to tell you what the speed limit is when it changes. It then goes away as it presumes you'll remember it until it changes again. I dont find the function useful tbh.
  24. Only works on vehicles with memory seats and mirrors as they need to know which position to revert back to I'm pretty confident the executive model doesn't have it.
  25. Worth remembering that prices of almost every car have gone nuts right now. Bloody Ford Focus cost £25k+ nowadays. We can blame PCP for that as list prices don't tend to matter anymore to the general public, just the monthly prices. I can remember when the RX used to cost £35k for a top spec one, now its £60k. My wage certainly hasn't gone up by a similiar percentage lol.
