  1. Seems good value to me. Remember that the service prices are going up again in January 2019 so either way its going to be worth it as your service plan will be fixed.
  2. I have had this on the IS and the RX Both times the tyres were less than 3 mm and the alignment was off. New tyres and alignment cured the issue completely, even on a cold day when the tyres are fully warm
  3. Would certainly be a spanking good investment. These won't lose value - ever by the looks of it.
  4. Firstly are you 100% sure its for the 450h and not for the 350?
  5. The dealers can't tell you of major things to come which may never come - you can sue them if they do. They should only be telling you what is wrong with the car at that moment in time and if something may need doing but ultimately its the buyers choice on whether to do it or not. Greasing of the sliding pins on brake calipers is something that is not routinely done as its not a huge occurrence. Maybe on older cars but my RX was 5 years old when I got rid of it and had no such issues. Our IS300h is older than 5 years and it also has no caliper issues. Its just something you hear about but nobody knows how "common" it actually is. Oil changes being ticked as "Done" is massively risky business. Someone could analyse it and sue the dealer and tarnish their reputation at the same time. Common for things to get missed but not actively chosen not to be done.
  6. Both are the same its just that the powder has to be made into a cream so you have to mix with water. TBH I would just get the cream.
  7. Lexus clean the car with wash and wax product that does do that. As suggested either Barkeepers friend or a glass polish such as Autoglym glass polish should do it.
  8. I got to see one too. Was told the pre-production was just to get an idea of it and the interior quality isn't up to scratch of production vehicles. TBH I wouldn't have complained anyway as it was mostly spot on. Its a beautiful looking car though!
  9. They're not in a hurry due to reliability concerns and poor infrastructure. The first EV Lexus will be the UX. It should be released officially end of 2019 and deliveries in early 2020
  10. As others have mentioned it depends on how long you plan to keep the car. The problem is, the IS300h attracts quite a specialist buyer. They're not your average buyer and hence, most do buy from a Lexus approved scheme or will atleast make sure it has a full Lexus service history. At the end of the day, its a Premium car with premium servicing. I guess you could also put budget tyres on but buyers will notice this straight away. I wouldn't buy a premium vehicle with budget tyres, same with servicing.
  11. I do like the panoramic sunroof as it does let loads of light into the cabin, particularly if the interior is black. Its not really a problem when parked in the sun as they have a proper headliner type shade which doesn't let any light through whatsoever. You don't need the sellers permission if the supplying dealership remove all identifiable information. e.g. if they properly remove all names, addresses and telephone numbers using a thick black permanent marker, it will meet data protection rules
  12. The budget is plenty to get yourself an advance model which was the best in terms of cost effectiveness as it came with a lot of kit for the same price as a Luxury, especially when Lexus had the "Upgrade to Advance for free" offer on. The Premier does come with the air suspension. Whilst the 3RX air suspension is not as unreliable as the 2RX, it didn't make a massive difference in ride quality. Make sure you check the spec of the Advance as it got changed in 2015 I believe. As others have mentioned ensure a full service history i.e. every 10k miles. I wouldn't worry about the extended warranty on these. They were bloody bulletproof.
  13. You could try using the door buttons to lock the car from the inside and then closing the door obviously with the keys in your pocket. It'll beep 3 times but that's it.
  14. Very nice. I believe the original colour is silver for those wheels anyway so I presume the previous owner had them refurbished to gunmetal grey.
  15. No its not because you don't know what the pressures are. Just fill up and itll go away if the pressure is right. If the light is still on it means your pressures are wrong.
  16. Why do you keep resetting the tyre pressures. Just leave it as it is and forget about it. If the pressure is right the light will go away by itself after topping up.
  17. Theyre massively more comfortable than the CT. The IS F-Sport is much more comfortable than even a base CT. They're all chain driven I believe
  18. Still the rage. Companies still offer and carry out the process in pure daylight especially if they're good at welding and then removing the weld marks. The only way is to make it illegal to carry it out.
  19. I dont think this is a widespread issue. Certainly no vibrations on my car which is an early 63 plate. Lexus customer service in the UK is exemplary, can't comment on other countries apart from the US
  20. Bloody hell has someone been cleaning it with a brillo pad? You won't be able to remove those marks without adding any more yourself.
  21. Very true, Stage 1 is around 270hp but I doubt it would do anything for the lag itself.
  22. Same spec and colour combo as mine! I had the mudflaps taken off though. Wait till she starts driving it and realises it much, much bigger than the 2nd gen RX
  23. Your risk increases after a certain age so it could be that. Also, there might be more thefts or car insurance claims in your area from last year. Remember that you are insuring a relatively rare luxury car in a higher insurance bracket than a 1.0l Polo for which plenty of parts are available at a reasonable cost. When Lexus gets into an accident, you can be sure the parts are expensive and sometimes this factors into insurance cost.
  24. Itd have to be the RX - it can do pretty much everything. Its fairly quick, refined, smooth and can carry 5 in absolute comfort.
  25. Worth bearing in mind that not all of these vehicles are in the same condition. Some are actually quite poor with lots of stone chips. We bought our IS300h F-Sport in September 2015. It was a September 2013 registered car. Identical specification to that one bar the ML sound (which really isn't worth the premium on these). It had 10k miles on it with absolutely no blemishes at all and we paid £23k for it. Bear in mind that a facelift came out so it should have pushed the prices down a little. Just doing a bit of man maths - the vehicle you have shown is 1 year older than ours with 3k more miles and was registered at a time when discounts were around £5k off list. The ML isn't really worth anything extra either but I would expect it to be around £22k with a view to getting it sold for £21500
