  1. The rubber inserts will be Lexus/Toyota ones made by denso. I used to buy them on eBay from Lexus UK and fit them myself before I knew about the denso wipers on ecp. I wouldn't say there's any difference in changing rubbers Vs buying new complete blades apart from feeling like better value for money when buying the whole unit
  2. So the issue is still there today so Ive decided to take it in tomorrow. Will update in due course
  3. Theyve identified its cylinder 1 misfiring. I put redex in this morning just to see. Im driving about 10 miles today and 10 miles tomorrow but Im still going to take it in on Monday to see whats going on.
  4. Osram nightbreaker Unlimited are very good bulbs. The longevity is fine, 12months+ if installation is done with care i.e. with protective gloves on. If you start going into Osram Nightbreaker laser and 130%+ bulbs, the longevity will be 8-10 months at best.
  5. They can't diagnose it because it hasn't put any lights on. Now I do recall my 3RX used to shudder in the cold a bit too and once warm it'd be okay. It's a similar case here. I'm going to put some redex in before Monday and just see if it helps. If it sorts the issue I'll use BG44K from now onwards
  6. No it doesn't occur under load. Rather the opposite. It only seems to occur when the engine is cold. No idea why or how they suspected it but they say it's injector 1 that's misfiring intermittently.
  7. This misfiring only seemed to occur starting end of November last year. Now it is intermittent and the dealer couldn't find the fault properly as it's not stored so I don't really know what's going on. They know about it though so said if something is to happen they'll do it under warranty even though it runs out on 14th Jan. Can only has 22k miles on it so very unusual indeed. I wonder if it's just a duff spark plug
  8. Always used BP standard petrol for many years including on my 3RX which I had for 5 years, our IS300h which is over 5 years old now. The 4RX is not even 3 yet so I presume its a fault rather than the fuel being used.
  9. So, had my 3rd service and MOT on the RX. MOT passed with no advisories. 3rd service was fine, said that the rear offside tyre was wearing on the edge but I remember having a picture on that side so I presume its from that and will even out. The most worrying news was that Injector 1 is misfiring intermittently discovered on service. No codes stored and the car itself drives fine when warm but shudders on occasions when cold Been told to put Fuel cleaner in and see if it helps, otherwise work will be done under warranty.
  10. Yes they do offer Lexus Essential care which is servicing for cars over 5 years old. As far as I can tell the service the car gets is identical to the full price ones. They just dont stamp the book but instead give you a service Certificate as such
  11. I wouldnt be surprised if it was a 1.0l hatchback, they do over 50k miles on rear tyres alone. The michelin latitudes on my 3RX did about 28k before being changed. I doubt the cross climates would do 39k on an RX.
  12. Don't think cracks in the tread themselves are an MOT failure. Only the sidewall cracks are. They don't really symbolise anything other than the tyre is old and should be replaced soon.
  13. Door itself looks intact and probably not able to open due to the fender catching. Fender needs replacing and so does bottom kick panel
  14. Cotton buds tend to work fairly well for badges
  15. They don't come up on comparison websites as they're companies who provide bespoke cover. You'll find that Chris Knott will beat most providers by £30-40 as long as you can provide a written quote from your cheapest provider.
  16. Yep used Chris Knott for a few years earlier. And I also claimed through them on the IS once. It was all very smooth
  17. Yh the denso ones are the original on the 3is. Lexus dealers just change the rubber inserts usually which does the job. The blades are cheaper from carparts4less
  18. I was with admiral under a multicar policy for a good 3-4 years until this year. They increased the premium by £600 altogether. Went online, got quotes separately and then phoned Chris Knott brokers who beat both quotes with bespoke cover
  19. Never had an issue with the Torque steer when I had it. Yes it was horrendous but I found it bloody hilarious when flooring it. It used to snake about with the front wheels
  20. Its a pre-sales leaflet. It doesn't even have the full specs in it yet, its just to show some of the colour choices and a bit of detail about the car. I expect the proper ones to come out in January
  21. Except you cant get touring tyres on the top spec IS because they have low profile 18" tyres
  22. Depends on how you drive and where you drive really.
  23. Since when do the Goodyear eagle F1 Asymmetric have stiff sidewalls? They're some of the softest and can be manipulated using a single hand.
  24. Where did you fill up? I know that Tesco had some contaminated fuel recently. Fuel problem could have caused the issue yes.
