Alloy wheel repair needed
rayaans replied to Brechin Slate's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Wouldn't pay anymore than £70 for that damage to be honest. Like I said I had a smart repair done on a 20" wheel around the whole rim for £55. And a 20" diamond cut rim fully refurbished for £125 -
Nx300h F-Sport or Premier?????
rayaans replied to Rew1's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Very nice! Where are the pictures? Mesa red is one of my favourite Lexus colours to be fair. Its a bit unusual that the memoy pack isnt included on the takumi pack models. -

I fancy one. I think Ill wait for the plug in NX and downsize as the RX will undoubtedly be getting larger in the next generation -
squeaky drivers seat
rayaans replied to MR DSB's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Not sure it should be touching so get it checked if in warranty, I suspect in the short term a bit of silicone spray should quieten the squeak down -
Bit of a delay in getting mine. Initially was supposed to land with dealers on March 1st. Unfortunately its still at the depot and will be available with the dealer next week. They suspect its due to the optional alloy wheels which will be fitted here in the UK. Getting kind of excited to drive it. Ive only driven the hybrid models, not the electric one. Additionally, Ive never seen a Blazing Carnelian UX with the Rich cream interior and the particular wheels we went for so thats going to be interesting!

Alloy wheel repair needed
rayaans replied to Brechin Slate's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Most Lexus dealers dont have an onsite body shop so outsource. I know Lexus Stockport/Bolton have their own bodyshop they use but everyone else sends the wheels elsewhere. Ask the dealer first who they use. Also worth checking facebook/instagram for companies and their work. I had a smart repair done on the Jag diamond cut wheels for £55 a wheel all inclusive so £180 to repair that is taking the royal mickey. Additionally, dont believe the alloygator hype. They do have a tendency to fling off and also, they look awful once theyve contacted a kerb as well. -
Extended warranty
rayaans replied to First_Lexus's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Whilst thats true. Most issues tend to surface within the 3 year manufacturers period or at higher mileage on Lexus. If it was a German car Id recommend a warranty but I think with Lexus Ive taken my chances on all of mine over 17 years and I think Ive paid £500 including fitting for a radio on the IS300h. Initially was quoted £4k but Lexus UK got involved due to mileage and said £500 fitted. -
Extended warranty

I agree, it is. The only issue I have had in 17 years of ownership out of warranty was on the IS with its head unit. I suspect caused because of me changing the battery without a memory saver lol Its an insurance policy I suppose but obviously they can offer it as it probably makes them a whole chunk of money, even at the price that it is -
Looks like a fake advert. A car advertised for a relatively low price compared to others and has O feedback from the seller. Is it advertised elsewhere such as autotrader for example?

I think a lot of people complain about initial diagnostic fees from main dealerships. But obviously they still have to pay for technician time and equipment that they're using, along with time looking at your vehicle instead of servicing another vehicle etc Having said that, Lexus stockport initially quoted £140 but then waived it after they found the issue was over £4k to fix

I'm not sure with that one. I don't know if they even get that in the US -

Itll be an NX450h+ which is a plug in hybrid. Itll be the 302hp version lifted from the RAV4 prime. The NX350h will be the only option at launch I suspect which will either be a 219hp version or 254hp version. Depends on what Lexus deem fit to put inside. -
Do you recognise these brake pads?
rayaans replied to BillNick's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Definitely greenstuff Although not entirely sure why the've been put on an RC-F. Would expect redstuff as minimum on an RC-F -

This is the leaked video which confirms the NX350h and NX450h+. Good to see a normal hybrid variant and a plug in option which undoubtedly will be much more expensive -

Those are the pics I saw a few weeks ago. Its legit So now those have been seen by most people.... the new things, of course the exterior and the platform is new. Lexus is using TNGA now same as the RAV4 which bodes well. The infotainment is completely new as there is no remote touch interface. New wheel designs, one of which is probably an F-Sport wheel but the vehicle pictured is not an F-Sport variant. -
Screen black after battery change
rayaans replied to rayaans's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Apparently not. It seems to only affect cars which have the radio and climate control buttons in this finish: There are no reports of this problem affecting later vehicles with the below finish: Now whether thats due to the vehicles being newer and not needed a battery change yet, who knows? Well apparently the radio receiver is supposed to shut down on its own BUT apparently when it becomes faulty it can stay on draining the battery. So it'll be troublesome to start the vehicle even after 2 days which is what I was experiencing even though the AA guy said it charges fine. So potentially the battery was fine, and it was actually the radio causing the problem in the first place! When I say dump the power, I dont mean in technical terms. I meant that the radio unit essentially fries something when the power is removed from it as its been shut down. Whether thats hardware or software, nobody knows until someone has a look at it. I think there have been some reports in the states about it affecting vehicles without navigation but not entirely sure as they have completely different units over there to us. -

I might see if anyone repairs it locally. Or otherwise might just stick if on eBay lol -
Why is the timing weird? The vehicle recently came out whilst the GS-F has been retired and the RC-F probably will be soon. The LC-F launch will be soon after the facelift is released most likely. There doesnt have to be any logic. If logic was the norm in the car industry, there'd be no such thing as a Merc A class saloon and a CLA at the same time. There wouldnt be a 4 series gran coupe and a 3 series. Car manufacturers make vehicles to fill voids. That void was left when the GS-F was removed meaning no sub 5 second saloon in the Lexus lineup for the US.

Screen black after battery change
rayaans replied to rayaans's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Basically, when the radio unit was connected to the car, it was in accessory mode as the car was left in neutral for easy access to everything so it switched on immediately. Now when I put the car in reverse, there were no guidelines and it said, system initialising with a "clickable" question mark next to it. I clicked it and it said turn steering wheel fully to left and then fully to the right to synchronise guidelines. Did that and it was fine. -

Probably is.... Hence the radio design and connectors changed in late 2014! Anyway, on a side note: Had the radio fitted and its working. Had to resynchronise the reversing camera by turning left and right but other than that, no problem. -
Its clear that the majority of posters on this thread have completely missed the point of the IS500 F-Sport Performance Its not a true F product, and as most of you know, its a heavy facelift of the 3IS which came out in 2013. The point of it is just to give US/Canadian buyers more performance without creating a true F product and having development costs that go with it as its not a worldwide vehicle. It is only LHD and going to be available across the pond The new F lineup will come with Turbocharged engines, rumours say a twin-turbo V6 or turbo V8 although information is quite thin on the ground right now. I believe Lexus are working on the 4IS already as its due out in 2023 but I suspect it might be electric only. There are new F models coming. An LC-F for certain but no word on the new ones. A BMW M3 is $70k without any options so realistically an $80k vehicle. I suspect the IS500 will go on for sale fully loaded at $65-66k Worth a read: https://www.motor1.com/news/489896/2022-lexus-is-500-explainer/

It's in the flap at the front of the radio unit. The theory over in the states is that the radio doesn't shut down properly. So it causes the battery to drain. Which makes you think oh yh let's change the battery and then it dumps the receiver once power is removed. So theoretically you could bypass this problem by using a memory saver when changing batteries
