  1. Common kitchen salt. Wont do much if anything compared to grit which stays on vehicles for a much longer period of time anyway
  2. There's nothing actually wrong with SRP. It'd probably add some bling to the paint of the Honda if it's not in good shape. Much better product than 80% of the AIOs out there anyway Likewise despite everyone saying fairy liquid shouldn't be used on cars it's not going to do much damage using it as a one off. Itll remove all the crud and wax leaving a clean slate for SRP anyway!
  3. https://www.slimsdetailing.co.uk/products/metro-vac-master-blaster-sidekick?variant=35352638193820&currency=GBP&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gclid=CjwKCAjwkN6EBhBNEiwADVfya4zSqeDIgddbOR7A0XZR-_zASiA6Y9xsiJ61N04uV5D-057gOO4eWxoCcuMQAvD_BwE May as well invest in this. A dedicated car blow dryer. This does have a filter which can be changed/ cleaned
  4. Nilco from B&Q is the best glass cleaner Ive used so far. However, with glass, its all in the cloths. Microfibers are rubbish for cleaning glass. You need a dedicated glass cloth which can be obtained from plenty of stores like Home Bargains
  5. Theyre only really good for a car thats well protected. Otherwise the water wont really blow off. Many of them dont have any particular filters on them so will blow a lot of dust onto the car in the process
  6. Its worth noting though that the UXe has been heavily optomised in terms of refinement in comparison to the UX250h. Its got a lot more sound deadening everywhere. Heck, its almost as quiet as my RX which is kind of unusual.
  7. Still nothing on ours. My ears are quite sensitive too so I can hear creaks coming from everywhere in most cars and it drives me nuts. The RX is solid, our previous IS was too. The UX even more so. Most of the time these issues occur in the first model year until parts are redesigned. If you look at the IS for example, the padding in the centre console in a 2019 is very different to the early 2013 cars.
  8. Ours is a UX300e so even quieter than the Hybrid version. No such rattles. Unfortunately with loaner cars you never know whether the door panel has been removed previously to sort some issues out with the amount of use that they get The Interior quality is on par with the IS300h so no problems whatsoever.
  9. I've just been charging it at home. I think it costs something like £4.00 to charge fully so it's extremely cheap. And the service costs are half normal lexus prices too
  10. Just fine! no issues that Ive noticed, just happy motoring with it. Its deadly smooth and quiet honestly!
  11. Fitted the dashcam today. Was reasonably straight forward but the earth bolt was a pain to get to . All sorted though now and works perfectly
  12. Worth a watch
  13. ZAPMAP is really good for finding chargers close to home. Theres absolutely loads on there including a route planner which would be very helpful. But Ideally for an "only" car youd need a realistic range of 300 miles
  14. Its the UX300e with Premium Plus package, so mid range which managed to get the £3k government grant! The sun came out today and I must say the colour absolutely pops when its sunny. The sparkle is amazing! It doesnt come with Nav built in though! Has carplay/android auto though so if I need the nav, Ive just plugged the phone into the socket and used Waze on screen. Handy!
  15. Its what the keys came in! Yep its just like a toggle. Forward for reverse and backwards for drive. And then just press P to engage parking brake and put into Park
  16. A few more pictures today as I had the chance! I plugged it into charge, went from 90 miles to about 130 in 5 hours so pretty pleased. Ive also just set up the Lexus Link app so itll take about 24 hours to sort out fully. Seems to work fine so far.
  17. Drove it back yesterday evening. Lovely little car to be honest. Performance is good, much better than the 250h and its very quiet. I could tell instantly theres much more sound deadening in the 300e in comparison to the 250h Additionally, its really odd seeing bumps and expecting to feel something which never comes. The ride on the Michelin primacy tyres (non run flat) is probably amongst the best in the Lexus lineup in my view. First thing I did was seal the leather seats today!
  18. If you want to keep OEM, the frozen nav screen on the 2IS is very well documented. Some people have even done a DIY write up https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-2nd-gen-2006-2013/610678-frozen-navigation-screen-fix-diy.html
  19. Can't be that logical when the US is 6k miles or 1 year! 🤣 Shortened to 6 months...... Due to living in the UK
  20. Ive not picked it up yet! Will be picked up after I finish work at around 16:30 today. And then its about an hour drive back! Yep! Just noticed that too. So looks like all UXe's are now going to be £3k more expensive, apart from the takumi of course as it never qualified for the grant in the first place.
  21. Collection day today! Quite excited for our first ev lol
  22. Not sure. They still give the same warranty on it. It's just a weird number to choose. I doubt the oil gets degraded that badly in 10k/12 months in comparison to 6k/6months
  23. Do these things not need servicing every 6k miles and 6 months though? Not really sure why either. Seems a bit arbitrary
  24. My wife will be the main driver, she only does town driving and school runs so will be ideal. Ive just researched into it and apparently most of the UX's come with run flat tyres! Well, I must say, after driving them as courtesy cars I wouldnt have noticed at all. The UX is super smooth, more so than the NX and even my RX will struggle against the UX on a bad road for outright ride comfort The UXe comes with Michelin Primacy tyres. Not sure whether those are runflat as well Edit - just checked. None of the UX300e models come with run flats. All of them have tyre repair kits
  25. Car arrived at Lexus Stockport yesterday. Should be able to collect on Thursday next week
