  1. No. I think it's just you. Never had any door rattles on any of my Lexus cars and I've had a few
  2. Maybe not with Lexus as the showrooms are smaller and tend not to have as much traffic. The recent Merc and BMW showroom I went to was absolute chaos and the used cars in the forecourt were parked so close to each other as well so it makes sense.
  3. Im not too sure. I didn't pay the first year because it's all included anyway. It'll probably have £340 a year tax on it. But then most cars nowadays do regardless unless you somehow manage to buy a premium car less than £40k. Golfs cost that much now. It's just an arbitrary number really they've chosen
  4. It was in West Yorkshire. £140 I paid for it
  5. I honestly don't know. I just said factory look. He said it was medium tint whatever that means.
  6. Sticker price was £49k. Government grant was £3k. Of course by the time my accountant has sorted it out it'll have cost me £33k. We bought our IS at 2 years old for £23k so I don't think it's bad value for a car that's brand new with a higher list price Bear in mind its going through my business and my wife keeps her cars for a long time so it negates any tax on the car when selling
  7. I had the llumar tint put on the Merc recently. No issues at all.
  8. Yes, so its only getting used by my wife at the moment as Im driving the RX all the time. I charged it up the other day, it cost me exactly £4.52. So I added around 150 miles roughly for £4.52. Im spending around £70 to fill my tank on the RX giving me 350 miles!
  9. Not really worth it. It's much cheaper and easier to just get the number plate made online. Many sellers don't require any ID as they claim to sell only "show plates" which are not technically road legal
  10. You can get the OEM blades which are denso from the likes of eurocarparts for quite cheap
  11. So Ive been getting around 160 miles on a full charge around town. However, recently I've ran it on the motorway and it seems to be getting 3.6 miles per kWh at a steady 70mph which would equate to 196 miles. The car is absolutely brilliant. Android auto works very well, it's so smooth. It's bloody quick too and it will scrabble it's front tyres on full throttle with no significant torque steer as such Very pleased with this one.
  12. Cazoo list the obvious faults by the looks of it. Things like scratches and stone chips. Ive had not issues buying from Lexus Franchise blind. Make sure there is a trail of emails, not a telephone conversation but mostly Lexus dealers are very good at describing the car providing you ask the right questions
  13. The first question would be whether its a Lexus Extended warranty or something else entirely. The name Assurant does not ring a bell as LexusCare Warranty is what its usually labelled as.
  14. I bought my wifes IS300h unseen. No issues. Examine the photos well - main things to look for are kerbed wheels, seat wear and interior scratches. Gives you a reasonable idea of how the car has been looked after. Take a very good look around the car on delivery and any issues tell them straight away. It should be fine. Most used car buying nowadays is done online without seeing.
  15. Yes so the 450h+ is the 302hp plug in hybrid and the 350h will be the non plug in variant. Expect the NX450h to be circa £50k hence the 350h is needed to bridge the gap. There is an all electric SUV coming. I believe the ES is going to have some form of electric propulsion as well with Direct4 system fitted.
  16. I think you definitely need to test them both. The ES takumi I had as a loaner I felt was a better all around car than the GS300h I had a while ago. It had the cream interior too so maybe that's what made it look and feel special inside
  17. I believe an owner on here recently changed their GS450h to an ES300h and was very happy. It was the previous generation version to yours however but I cant imagine therell be that much difference. The ES300h is a very good car especially if going for a top spec one i.e. takumi
  18. Yes its a very large proportion. Most cars leave the factory flawless. They get bumped and scraped along the way, get put in containers, parked in compounds with a lot of car movement and packed in quite tight. The majority of damage is actually at the dealership however
  19. The 3rd party warranties also genuinely try to wriggle out of most things. There used to be one called RAMP which was quite good but thats dealer only now. Warranty Direct have also been sold to another company. They were the better of a bad bunch.
  20. Your reasoning is utter rubbish We all know its a money making scheme. If you care to look at the data available. Its extremely unlikely to get flashed at by a camera going at a true speed of 35mph on a 30 road. If thats not enough leeway I dont know what is. I suppose you undercut on the motorway and hog the middle lane too? Just dont speed then you dont need to worry about getting caught. Or if you do it, do it within 10% so you minimise the risk of getting caught. Pay the fine, take your ban and move on instead of expecting your car to flag up speed cameras that you should be noticing in the first place. You've clearly made the conscious decision that you want to go over the limit, or enough to actually get stung so pay the consequences. I got caught speeding, you dont see me complaining about it despite the dual carriageway going from 70mph to 40mph and I missed the signs in an area I had never been to. This has nothing to do with freedoms and nobody has a right to drive for a start.
  21. Yes exactly as I thought. This kind of damage usually does not leave the factory.
  22. Im pretty sure that must have happened after the car left the factory. Its actually very very common for new cars to have paint and all sorts after the factory as they do get damaged on the way to the UK. Its something like 50-60%. Obviously much more difficulty on a sonic red car to match the paint perfectly etc. I think you were refunded quite quickly in all honesty. Its not uncommon for things like this to take in excess of 2 months following the initial steps of rejection.
  23. Do you really need a speed camera bing and bong though? I can imagine that means you're simply going too fast? We get 10%+2mph realistically anyway so unless youre doing 35mph true speed which is probably like 37mph on the speedo and in that event youre more likely to get caused by a mobile speed camera than a fixed one anyway. It was certainly the case when I got caught doing 76 in a 40!
  24. I usually get about 27-28mpg around town in the RX but I usually only use it to work. On a long run, loaded car with 5 of us I get around 33-35mpg and I dont exactly hang about on the motorway anyway Having said that our IS300h was great on the motorway and got up to speed quite quickly so I dont know how the NX can be that bad. Probably a combination of more weight and less power.
