Fuel consumption difference is negligible between a GS450h and an RX450h. I no longer have the IS, we've got a UXe There's a huge difference between estates and SUV's. Firstly, the transmission tunnel in estates is much larger than in an SUV, the RX in fact, doesnt even have one The X5 is marginally longer than a GS. If we think about the ES, the X5 is actually shorter. I dont understand why having a taller vehicle is such an issue. They give better visibility, they're actually easier to park than a traditional saloon because of this in my opinion. Dont forget, the average human is much larger than they were 10-20 years ago Additionally, last time I checked, the Q7, XC90 and X7 can carry 7 people. I dont believe the GS does this. Completely different markets and I understand why if you have more than 5 people in the family, a large SUV like this would be appealing.

Yes there is a need for such a large car. Just because you dont need one, doesnt mean others dont. I have a family of 5, two of which are teenagers. Try getting their luggage into a GS and see what happens! Besides - something like the GS is about the same footprint as the RX anyway, yet the RX can fit a lot more into it. On top of that, a Q5 is actually smaller than a GS - so for someone owning a large car, your response doesnt really make much sense.

Unlikely. They usually take orders well before the first demos are received. For example, I ordered the UX300e in November last year ang got it in March 2021. The first demos came in February. I actually pre ordered it a long time before the actual full order went in.

That's a good result. I think battery testing is a difficult one as they'll test it and it'll probably be showing up as fine until it gets sat for an extended period of time. Bear in mind the dealer's around my end turn their vehicles on for 1 hour every week to ensure the batteries don't go flat. The tyre thing is unusual. It probably wasn't checked at all to be honest as they shouldn't be at 3mm. Most dealers tend to go with 5mm+ I think some dealers are operating a Mercedes model whereby the customer tells them what's wrong and they sort it

Hard to tell when you look at this pic. But the boot floor is about 15-20cm lower on the UX300e. It also has storage underneath that as well so it's about the same as a VW golf I would say

The app is slightly misleading. The range shown initially is actually with air con off, so theoretical maximum range. When you click on it itll switch to showing range with air con on.

Very nice. This is the same colour combo that we had before it was replaced by the UXe. I see its on a 63 plate. With these, whatever you do, dont change the 12v battery yourself if it needs changing. Take it to Lexus as the head unit could potentially fail once the old battery is removed. Just worth bearing in mind for future!

Try the UXe! Even better to drive. Honestly Its almost on par with the RX and a bigger boot to match I was genuinely surprised how different it is to the UX hybrid

Tyre manufacturers may be involved in high performance cars. For the usual cars they simply put in whatever they can get hold of hence why the same models of cars, especially BMWs nowadays can come with anything from Pirelli to Michelin to Goodyear. They also use different tyres in different countries. The AA and RAC carry universal spare tyres nowadays anyway. Additionally the continental tyre sealant is very good too so there are alternatives to coping with a stiffer ride everyday

Ah yes the wipers. So I believe the NX was the first vehicle that Lexus changed over to the flat aero style wiper blades and they came with either Trico/Denso standard fit. The genuine ones are a bit rubbish and were changed out by the dealers in the US but for some reason I dont think they were over here as they didnt have enough complaints. I had the same problem with the RX. Changed the wipers to Bosch aerotwin and havent had any groaning since

It's could be the main 12v battery. You honestly are better off just leaving the car on whilst setting it up as it helps avoid discharging the 12v battery There are a few things which are very different in hybrids compared to a normal vehicle that you need to be aware of

The ML should have an equaliser somewhere. It's an audiophile system so don't expect heavy bass. It focuses on clarity So the car not turning on, does it give a warning? Like key not detected or something. I would put my bets on the key battery still. It appears the backup battery is working well though as when you touch the button with the key it's using the backup battery in the key

Its only £100 more? Id take the Lexus policy - much more comprehensive and god forbid if something does happen, atleast theyll provide you with a Lexus courtesy car and sort out the repair using Lexus approved bodyshops. I believe you have to pay an additional £250 to use a non approved bodyshop with most insurance companies otherwise and if you do they wont give you a courtesy vehicle

Theyre very good cars and extremely reliable. If youre coming from a 1.6 Golf you wont notice any performance issues, in fact, its probably a lot more punchy. The touch pad vehicles are a higher spec than the rotary dial versions. You get a lot more that you cant see on the touch pad vehicles, especially pre-facelift which includes a much better sound system than the 6 speaker versions on the cars with a dial. Also bear in mind that the new VW's arent built like they used to be. They have a lot of common issues, especially the EA888 engines
