  1. Was pretty much April by the time I got it. And yes, it's mainly used as a school run/ shopping car. I occasionally use it but I'm in the RX most of the time
  2. I've had mine since march. It was quite cold but didn't notice a huge drop in range. It was maybe 10-15 miles noting more than that
  3. So we've done 700 miles so far. Ours is consistently around 160-170 miles per charge. The car is left permanently in Eco mode. The normal mode is a bit too peaky. I've been getting more range than the app states with AC on Should also mention that Apple carplay works brilliantly. I've been using a combination of Waze and Spotify which works well. Youtube music is no good unless you have a premium account.
  4. Wouldnt surprise me tbh. Buyers are much more confident in buying from a Lexus dealer it seems
  5. But see some Lexus vehicles come with aero wipers, some with hybrid design, if you switch them over which is quite common, do you have to tell your insurance? Again, same with ceramic pads. As for screenwash, some BMWs for example state that you cant use anything other than their screenwash in the tank. Theyre well known to refuse warranty claims for this reason so would this be another disclosure to insurance then? Last time I checked, you havent posted anything of significance with regards to changing the "spec" of your vehicle so I dont think disclosing anything to insurance even applies.
  6. Stupid comment. We all know that Like i said, Id be ringing them up everytime I change my wipers, brake pads or screenwash. Ive got 4 cars to deal with
  7. Yes. But like I said before - how far do you go? Theoretically they could argue that your windscreen wipers are of a different brand. Same with the kwik fit brake pads on the car, or the LED interior bulbs.... Its a never ending thing. Besides, my insurer Admiral has said it doesnt need to be declared as long as the size, load and speed ratings are the same or better than the ones fitted from factory
  8. No they can't. It's really quite simple. If you use that logic, you'd simply not be able to put anything on your car that's not a manufacturer part. Aftermarket brake pads, windscreen wipers, winter tyres, the list goes on and on. Ebc brake pads? Nope. Bosch windscreen wipers. Definitely not. Winter tyres? No can't do that as it doesn't come from factory. Heck, you wouldn't even be able to change the brand of tyre. Changing tyres on the side of the road is not a safety issue. I've already said it's a practical one. It's your choice whether you want to do that or just call out the AA Run flat tyres are more of a safety issue in themselves. I don't think people understand how twitchy they make the car feel and react until they drive the same car without them
  9. Until you take them off I guess. They're so noisy though instead!
  10. Legally they can't. Reason being that a normal tyre can be used on the road. If it's a certified tyre there shouldn't be any problems. Changing tyres at the side of a motorway or busy road is a practical affair, not a safety related issue. Run flats are not less print to blow outs. They're actually more likely to have sidewall protrusions and more likely to cause cracked wheels. The likelihood of a puncture is probably very miniscule. I do over 20k miles a year and haven't had a puncture in over 6 years. The majority of BMW owners have removed these dreaded things and all the better for it!
  11. Pics when you get chance. ,didn't think we have the limited edition RC on here yet Mpg wise you probably never will. The figures are botched by every company. I'd expect 40-45
  12. Not that I know of. I agree it looks disgusting and ruins a classy car. It appears to be a rattle can job and by the texture most likely is heat resistant paint. It'll still go black with soot regardless and will be a paint to remove if needed in the future.
  13. I thought it was a bit funny at first and zoomed in. Haha Looks awful. Theres a small market for an RCF as it is. I don't think there's any for red exhaust tip inserts and a significant price hike lol
  14. That trader appears to have painted the insides of your previous RC-F exhaust red And its a shocking job too - its got overspray all over the backbox. Also managed to put £4k onto the price (rip off) and then changed the number plates to some naff ones. Talk about ruining a lovely car
  15. Been there done that. The insurance investigator only looks at the tyre tread, size and speed rating. They don't look at half of the things that people on forums expect them to. It's more about safety on the road and run flats provide no extra safety over normal tyres
  16. The original factory spec is changed when putting brembo brake pads on. Or anything else that's not from the manufacturer Screenwash for example
  17. I wouldn't. It has no resemblance on safety of the vehicle. Otherwise I'd be informing them of aftermarket brakes
  18. Its more likely to sell at Lexus reading at that price than at a Subaru dealer. I was looking at used car prices in general. Everything has gone up so unless you're buying a new car, it just cancels out. Now, I expect this bubble to burst in about 1 year
  19. So I had them changed yesterday due to delays in getting the tyre from the manufacturer. Huge improvement! Much much quieter than the runflats especially on the motorway and the ride comfort much improved to the point where I can't feel the small imperfections of the road anymore. I wish I'd done it sooner now
  20. I think it depends on the car. It's ok on our UX300e Haven't really registered the media device on the RX yet. Probably should and see how it goes.
  21. Its been working fine for me. Can see car location which is accurate, turn the AC on and off and see the range along with trip details like where the car has been and where I braked too hard or accelerated too hard etc. That's more than enough for me.
  22. Like I said makes no difference what car they're driving. The nervousness relates to the way that they are driving. Whether they drive a GLS or a Smart has absolutely no relevance. More often than not, its the smaller cars that have the scrapes on them
  23. Could help but take a photo when I went into the garage with the sun shining on it. Hasnt been washed in 2 months but still looks clean after coating
  24. Its variable. Porsche for example seem to have very good residuals on their SUV range. Even within Lexus, the NX and RX have good residuals. I recently calculated my RX has cost me £385 a month in depreciation which I personally think is quite good over 5 years and 40k miles. Ive used WBAC values and I got £6k off list price. The GS450h cost about the same at that point in time but the values are much lower despite having lower mileage. The jostling you mention would happen regardless of whether they were driving an SUV or a standard hatchback. Bad driving is one thing, the type of car one has is something entirely different
  25. Well there in lies the issue. Vans, trucks and buses still exist regardless of how many SUVs are on the road so in the grand scheme of things probably wouldn't matter much in terms of outright visibility. There are still plenty of saloons out there. A6, E-class, 5 series, XF, G70 etc. But the market isn't going that way. SUVs are capable of singlehandedly reviving companies. We've seen that with Porsche and more recently Aston Martin. That's exactly what I meant when I said 20 years but let's just say..... I was being polite.
