  1. The new part is almost £3k to buy. Labour on top so I'm not surprised. But atleast it's sorted fairly efficiently
  2. The IS300h used to do that. Down steep hills it would speed up. Jag XE did that too Mercs dont tend to do it as they brake for you whilst going downhill.
  3. It was only 6 months ago to be fair. They do have a policy in place that helps to keep Lexus vehicles on the road. Obviously if the infotainment system is conked out then they say it's not useful for.the road
  4. Yes but Lexus are very good at providing goodwill. Bear in mind the £4k fix cost me £500 on a 7 year old car as Lexus head office paid for the majority of it
  5. It doesn't. It knocks out the sound. If there's nothing on the screen then it's more likely to be the radio
  6. That's not true. A good friend of mine has two petrol stations. They almost have 800l left in reserve before they close it down. You can understand why i had no issue getting fuel throughout this "panic"
  7. Well I don't think it actually was a problem until car batteries started failing. And even then it's not all of them
  8. I'll have a look later on for the part number. I doubt it's the amp that usually creates no sound problem
  9. Give it a year or two Lexus always seems to add features later on in the life cycle of the car
  10. That's not a problem with the paint though is it? That's to do with the maintenance of it surely?
  11. Its odd that the ML isnt available on the 450h+. Its not a packaging issue as its available in the USA and Canada on this model. The pricing is clearly a step up from the previous model. The F-Sport 450h+ Takumi is nigh on £60k. The 350h F-Sport Takumi is £55k That £5k difference probably isnt worth it unless you're running it through a company. Cant wait for the new RX due next year now
  12. Id be very surprised if its genuine peeling of the top coat. Lexus paint is almost flawless in comparison to other manufacturers Its more likely to be a stone chip and then poor wash technique causing water to get underneath. The repaired bonnet was probably done prior to the dealer getting it and selling it on. Lexus is correct that the panels surrounding the paint would need to be blended in to match perfectly. Otherwise it could potentially stick out like a sore thumb due to the nature of sonic white paint. The brown bits you mention are probably tiny metal particles from brake dust etc. Using a fallout remover in combination with a clay bar will remove this. Theyre most evident on lighter coloured cars
  13. Its a wearing part but it should be covered if youve only covered 3k miles since bought but that does also depend on the timeframe.
  14. It sounds very similiar to what happened with the IS300h when I disconnected the battery. The newer units have navigation module running separately to the radio and other systems unlike the early models of the IS which conk out completely. I imagine the navigation module is toast. Should be covered under warranty. Lexus couldnt work out why ours had conked out either
  15. But that's what I mean. The computer doesn't take into account humidity or temperature or any other variable like tyre pressure. It could be a number of things
  16. I presume you also measure the ambient humidity whilst doing your calculations?
  17. More likely that a drop in temperature cause it
  18. Yep agree completely. Same thing with the RX it's working out almost £350 a month which is pennies for a big suv
  19. Gfv doesn't mean anything. It's almost guaranteed to be much higher than that at 3 years of age They said my RX gfv would have been 23k at 3 years. I could sell it to wbac for £28k after nearly 6
  20. It's a plug in. You can drive it until the range runs out without firing the engine
  21. They've probably just received it and put it up on without a decent valet. Would probably be okay once cleaned. Would like to see the state of the paint though
  22. He's an idiot. Check his other videos In the first Lexus, he's talking about a recall. Not exactly a reliability issue if the manufacturer is helping to sort it
  23. If you have a pressure washer, DetailedOnline do a good cannon along with packages. If not youd probably need a pump sprayer
  24. Probably not pulling it hard enough. They need a lot of force to open up
  25. Our second cars usually are low mileage but we keep the vehicles for around 6-7 years I'm sure it'll get more use from September onwards
