  1. I mean at the end of the day scratches will happen unless you get the whole car covered in ppf. Just leave it for a while and get the smart insurance to repair it every year or so. Or, invest in a polisher and do it yourself
  2. I'm not surprised. Most of these dealer coatings are quite rubbish in reality. It pays to just get a professional detailer to do it with well established coatings
  3. The majority are rubbish. It's worth seeing how they work and also worth finding out who is doing it / which company is involved. There are definitely detailers who work on behalf of dealerships, but they almost certainly won't apply gen3 glasscoat onto a car. The other aspect is. What's a detailer? Nowadays we have driveway valeters calling themselves detailers.
  4. It's not scratch proof. It might protect to an extent but not loads. As in with a fingernail it should protect but with an actual nail I doubt it Yes it needs reapplying after the paint is polished Gen3 glasscoat is OK but it's nowhere near a proper ceramic coating that hardens at 9H. The other issue is application. Dealer valeters will rush it and it won't be properly applied.
  5. Interesting views. I agree. It's worth noting ride quality is quite improved in the premier model due to the adaptive suspension which is only available on F sport grades and above. I think the new NX currently has better ride quality than the RX according to reviews. Will wait until I get a drive. I believe the new RX will be out late next year and this should improve further.
  6. It's normal in most rear wheel drive cars or those with a long wheelbase Usually solved by winter tyres in colder months. It's called crabbing. Basically the tyres skipping along the surface trying to get grip
  7. Sounds normal to me. Likely to do with cold weather and summer tyres.
  8. In bradford, theyve made a busy main road from 3 lanes into 2 lanes and used one of the lanes to make a disgusting looking bike lane with plastic bendy bollards. Its been there for 2 years Im yet to see a cyclist ever use it
  9. Havent had any major issues with appliances I tend to go for Bosch/AEG and theyve been running for over 10 years. The AEG freezer died out of warranty after 3 years and they replaced it for £200, less than half of original cost
  10. Its the e-call system I got mine ages ago as it was one of the first to roll off production line. They said no need to bring it in but to do it on next service
  11. I suspect you'll find the interior quieter due to the sound deadening added to the uxe on top of what was existing in the uxh rather than the tyres.
  12. Certainly doesnt make any difference whatsoever Its easier to grab a number plate off autotrader than trawl through a forum doing it
  13. They're not registered ones. They're stock vehicles
  14. Considering its 2021 yes I would say so. Car prices have jumped recently on the used market.
  15. It doesnt Our UXe was over £46k. I havent paid anything in VED
  16. Change the tyre size slightly. There aren't any all season tyres for the standard size. Besides. Never used winter tyres on the RX. The standard bridgestones have been fine. Even in deep snow
  17. Changed them on a Merc W205. Made a massive difference to the noise in the cabin and ride quality too. The runflats were very jittery
  18. It depends on how you use it. If you're commuting everyday less than 30 miles surely your MPG is going to be extremely high like 300mpg If you're not bothered and just use it as a normal hybrid itll be similiar as the previous car
  19. Similar in looks maybe but that's it. It's on a new platform compared to the last one. Previous car also used NiMH batteries so an older hybrid system Im sure the spec will change in time like every Lexus
  20. It does have a premium sound system. Just not the Mark Levinson. Lexus premium sound systems are usually quite good and there's rarely need to get the ML anyway
  21. I turn it off every time I get out of the car. And turn it back on sheen needed
  22. I sold the dead unit for £150. Think someone must know how to fix it. The second hand part cost me £450. Lexus wanted £4k but then eventually called me 1 week later saying Lexus UK would subsidise to £500 with a 2 year warranty. As I had sold the car at this point it didnt matter to me. Lexus quoted £150 for the battery and to change. I bought the battery for £117 assuming it was a simple job, which it was but not when the screen didnt turn on.
  23. Hence why it's probably best to take it to them. They only charge £150 for the battery fitted but peace of mind
  24. It's a hardware problem. Something in the unit is getting fried. The problem is that Lexus won't repair, they'll just charge for a replacement. I'm sure someone who repairs radios could repair it but I didn't find anyone willing to take it on when mine went.
  25. I mean it's only happened to 3-4 cars that I can count. Ours was over 7 years old when it did happen so it's hard to tell whether it's a true defect or a random occurrence
