Yep, it does look weird to people just passing by but this is what happens: Im currently using the Soft99 Fusso Coat too and its beading amazing! Had 6 months out of already and it cost me just over £20. Only UK seller is Nipponshine but you'll probably find it on the bay of flees anyway!

High Audio Volume Upon Ignition
rayaans replied to Rabbers's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
You are almost certainly right. I just had a look in the car and saw that the ASL was switched off, I don't know why but probably because I fiddled around with the audio controls out of boredom and to no good purpose when waiting for my wife in a car-park somewhere. I'll see what happens when I use the car tomorrow. Thanks. Easy fix - turn the audio off before switching the car off. That's what I do with every car Ive owned! -
Winter is awful to dry a car in - all the water seems to mist on the surface - very difficult! Best way to dry a car - providing it has some form of protection on it be it wax or sealant, is to use an open ended hosepipe which results in most of the water just sheeting off and not forming any beads. Makes it so much easier to dry! I get away with just one microfibre towel on my RX but I do wring it out about 3 times in the winter.

Finally Here - My 300H F-Sport
rayaans replied to AndyMJ's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
TBF the RX is getting changed soon anyway. Rumour has it that there's 2 concepts coming to the Detroit motorshow - I wonder if the 2016 RX and the 2016 GS-F are the one's? -
Cant comment, never used them before. Its not a brand that gets used here often

Good Price Isf On At
rayaans replied to stevet's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Its not been on too long therefore no pictures just yet. I think i saw it about 3 days ago. Takes atleast a week to put pictures up! -
Yes they are very good. TBF you could get the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx RT as well. They seem pretty good too but I think only oponeo are doing those tyres in both front and rear sizes. You could always get 2 from one place and the other 2 from somewhere else if they've worn differently.
-
Deflating the tyres a little always helps!
-
Wowee that's quite some wear there! Mine were down to 4mm when I hit 20k and my car is also heavier! Just had a quick look for you - If you want decent matching tyres - Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 should do it or perhaps the Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 2 K117. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 has been very highly rated!

This is a joke surely? Reversing lights on a car without a camera......er.....maybe to help you see when reversing as well as warning other road users of your intentions? If your driving a car with no reversing camera do you just reverse without looking? :winky: Well no - twisting my words there buddy! You look back as all people do through the rear windscreen and using the side mirrors but what use is the illumination of reversing lights? rear lights will be on at night anyway?

60K Dealership Service Woes
rayaans replied to ezeepzee's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
WOW, frankly found Audi to be one of the worst if not the absolute worst in terms of customer service but hey thats just my experience. Firstly the "Fixed price" business. Its not really a "fixed price". It should actually be called "Capped price". This is because the £895 you have been quoted is the absolute MAXIMUM that any dealer can charge for a service. As Lexus dealers are independently owned by different companies for example RRG group, Fish Brothers, Jardine motors etc etc, they can charge whatever they please up to £895. As far as Im concerned, and I am sure other forum users will agree with me, I can't see any customer service issues in what you have posted bar the "overfilling of the sump". It may just be a one off occasion, as you probably know, ***** happens and people make mistakes. I've dealt with many dealers searching for cars as well as when owning them and I definitely agree that Lexus service is the best out of the bunch - get over to Stockport and they'll show you how it should be -
Had no issues with reversing lights or the camera in my 450h. I refuse to believe that reversing lights are for illumination. What use would illumination be in a vehicle with no reversing camera? It only works in conjuction with a reversing camera and of course, all cars do not have that so how can reverse lights possibly be there "to illuminate the road"?

Auto Express: Is300H V Merc C300 Hybrid
rayaans replied to japthree's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
What a weird post ! Is your point that people who buy cheaper cars should expect to pay more for servicing? God forbid we ever buy a Ford Ka ! No the point is that the Merc is £7k more expensive and even though the Lexus has higher servicing, the Merc would cost more overall -
Auto Express: Is300H V Merc C300 Hybrid
rayaans replied to japthree's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Cant see why you cant get it done at a toyota dealer if you want it cheaper. Toyota, Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, Mini all within a couple of hundred yards of each other and part of the same group so there is limited options available. Although the Lexus servicing is £773 for 3 services and the Merc is £425, take a look at the list prices!! Nearly £7k more for the Merc, £300 cheaper servicing won't get you that £7k back! -

Congrats! Now that I look back on it, it didnt take me any time at all to get used to the hybrid. It just feels the same as a car with a normal engine. Never really noticed the CVT until it roared its head off during an overtake and that was awkward but i rather like it now compared to a traditional box- smooth, refined, relaxed and endless surge of power! You wont need the alloy protection. The tyre profiles are quite large so its not a huge issue, not for me anyway. I kerbed one wheel but thats because it scraped against the kerb doing a full turn in the middle of a main road. Just make sure you park your car about half a foot from the kerb and do a full lock if you need to get onto the pavement -
Winter Tyres
rayaans replied to wackyjim's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Never had any problems with summer tyres. Ive never changed to winter wheels ever. The Merc is pretty bad however and thats on summer dunlops but ive never really had the need to change the tyres on the RX -
Frustrated - Will My Car Ever Arrive?
rayaans replied to Nimbra's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Cant see why you cant go in and make a scene. Say youre not happy, let them know that you want free servicing for 3 years or whatever you fancy etc etc -
Firm Ride - Tyres/rims ?
rayaans replied to rogerthedoger's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Could be that your partner has the seat in an awkward position? You could always put tyres on with more sidewall - may affect the speedo though -
Loosen it up with a steam cleaner. Ive been using a karcher steam cleaner which gets most stains out. If not, it'll make it easier to clean with a fabric cleaner after. And the best bit - you can steam clean the whole interior bar the electrics! Works very well on leather! Obviously dont be stupid and put the heat on max and leave it in one place for ages or itll burn through. Treat interior like a cloth and the steam cleaner as an Iron :) Its the valeters trick anyway! ;)

Yes I see what you mean. I only found out as I had my 3 kids with me and my daughter likes sitting in the middle seat so needed a seatbelt and I couldn't find it until the dealer showed me where it was. It was a pain, it overlaps and make a mess and its very fiddly to use. Best to just not use the middle seat I guess but it'd be annoying if you have 3 kids who'll be in the back most of the time
-
As per the title, has anyone noticed it? It overlaps and makes a mess of things! Why make something so complicated! I dont understand the logic behind it. It comes from the roof - distracts you when looking in the interior mirror, makes it uncomfortable for 3 people and its a faff getting it on and off and putting it back into the holder in the roof! What kind of afterthought was this? Lexus make a good all round car but they sure do screw up on some things don't they?
