Lexus Dealer Not Great.
rayaans replied to capese21's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
My sincere apologies - I figured you were ranting on here without speaking to the dealer first. Anyhow..... Which dealer is it? I've found the relatively poor ones to be fish brothers and listers group. Listers group is probably the worst dealer network in the UK, maybe that's why they have so many Audi and BMW showrooms? I've found RRG and the Benfield group to be good Lexus ones. I'm yet to test the vantage and Jardine group though. -

Cant see where the beef is? OK maybe I can see where your frustration is coming from but seriously tell them face to face! They gave you a free service and offered you a hamper if you recommended your friends to them so they essentially sorted out the problem that you had in the first place? Try that with Mercedes or Audi and see where you get lol When they reminded you of your appointment, Im guessing it was the receptionist? How is the receptionist supposed to know if they have the parts in stock or not? She just rings you to remind you of your appointment because its on the computer! As for the cleanliness of the car - sometimes they miss things, it happens, you should have pointed it out when you got in the car! Instead of ranting on here, maybe you should speak to the dealer? They can't rectify anything if its on forums which they dont read. Phone your dealer up, say youre unhappy, get them to sort it out. Job done. -
Used And Ex Demos

Exactly that my friend - the cheaper ones which are £36-37k are getting sold. £39k for an NX300H that has 1 owner on the books is too much -
Lexus Nx True Mpg

I agree. Cant really work out why they didnt provide a detuned version of the 450h perhaps with an output of 250hp. That would have been plenty to get the car moving! Im sure it'd be getting the same kind of figures too -
You forgot the negatives of the IS-F, interior isn't up to par, doesn't sound as good as the RC-F and the handling isn't as good. And what use is 4 doors if there's still only 4 seats? Do they like any Lexus much bar the LFA?

Should I Buy A New Lexus
rayaans replied to Dustcap's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Im guessing you put all 3 offers on that black car in the space of a day? lol well, the one i was originally looking at was sold this afternoon, so thought I would enquire about the one in Guildford, but the website didn't make it obvious the offer had gone. so I kept trying do you work for Lexus? or is their something on the site suggesting the offers had been made? DC Nope dont work for Lexus! It shows on the used website how many offers have been put up. Im surprised the one in milton keynes is gone, its still up on the website! The guildford one is £1k more but I cant work out why. Its practically got the same spec and nearly the same mileage. -
Soft99 products are Japanese and are probably the best in the business in terms of performance to price. Fusso is the Soft99 sealant which everyone is raving about, including me!

Tyres Again.
rayaans replied to bbsirdar's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Moving from 99V to 100V will make little difference to the ride quality. May be slightly firmer but i doubt itll be noticeable. Its only if noticeable if you go from 99V to lets say 105V. As for the H rating, it means the tyre can dissipate less heat at speed which means they'll get hotter but H should be fine in reality as the car wont reach those sorts of speeds anyway. Construction of the H tyre will undoubtedly be inferior to the V tyre and this may have an adverse effect on handling but I cant say you'd notice much -

If you found the NX F-sport ride ok, then the RX should be a pleasant surprise as it rides better than the NX. -

All sounds good - Definitely a different feel to the F-Sport. It holds the road better and there's hardly any body roll which I prefer. I think the overall balance between comfort and handling is very good. If you prefer the floating ride, the Premier may be better suited to you. Harsh ride LOL - you'll know what that is if you test drive any of the German offerings with their standard sport suspension. Its unfair on Lexus that all the German trio seem to offer very highly specced vehicles with adaptive air suspension and the like to the press. -
Should I Buy A New Lexus
rayaans replied to Dustcap's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Well you can buy the car and when collecting, let the salesman know that you've noticed these things and they'll most likely offer to sort it out at your convenience. They always give you a low ball offer on part exchange to begin with. Keep pushing and they'll get closer, promise! They seem to be paying webuyanycar.com prices on average so make sure you get a value from those car buying websites first -
Should I Buy A New Lexus
rayaans replied to Dustcap's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Im guessing this is the black one in Milton Keynes right? Be careful - paint seems to be swirled pretty bad on the back bumper. Make sure you get it sorted before buying. Apart from that, pretty confident its a great car. And yes - don't pay the sticker price - new number plate coming out - start off at £24k, pay £25k tops. Oh and the wheels seem like their not the original factory finish. Make sure you're happy with the colour and that all 4 are the same as they are notoriously difficult to get right. -
I Want To Buy A 2014 Ct200H And Need To Know How Bad It Is
rayaans replied to goferdave's topic in Lexus General Discussions
I agree the 0-60 time is slow but ive always found Lexus to feel faster than the time suggests. The CT200h is the same - it feels much faster and between 20-40mph it feels like its got 200hp under the hood. The whole point is that if you're doing between 20-40mph on a regular basis, I doubt you'd feel unsatisfied with the CT200h from a performance point of view. -
Again, depends on how you drive it isnt it? If you're stomping on the pedal when every light turns green there wont be any queue at all. To put this into context, I saw an old chap, roughly the age of 70 driving a Merc S500 with a long queue behind him. The S500 is not slow, but if it was debadged, i'd think it was a hypothetical S200 or something because his foot wasn't anywhere near the floor.

Its a petrol engine, up the hills you need to give it some welly or it'll feel lethargic as the revs drop. To be fair, the 9.2s time is not bad at all considering the 2nd gen RX300 was around the same. Trying to drive economically on hills doesnt work with hybrid's, they wont climb up, stick your foot all the way down and it'll be fine.

Oem Wheel Colour Code
rayaans replied to AlanS's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Had this problem with my RX. No matter what anyone says let me emphasise that "THERE IS NO OFFICIAL LEXUS F-SPORT WHEEL COLOUR CODE". In actual fact, they mix 2 colours together in the factory but its probably one of the most well kept secrets. Only option is to do all 4 wheels together, or get the 2 done on one side. Stockport did 2 of mine on one side and you'd never notice. -

rayaans replied to F.A.'s topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
With a light foot you could easily get 35mpg, if not more in town. Im currently getting 27mpg but I floor it and my trip is only 2 miles to work so the car barely warms up. In winter 30mpg is possible for me and more in the summer. On the motorway you'll be looking at about 35mpg too. Oh and road tax is £135 so pretty good for a large SUV. On the weekly shop with the other half, she was driving and managed to squeeze 38mpg out which was quite impressive, but shes always more patient than I am. I have a tendency to drive my cars quite hard. No problems with hybrid batteries. Ive done 27k miles so far and had nothing, its all happy motoring with the RX. I thought I did have rattles actually, until I removed everything from the car and it went away. The moment I put all my stuff back in, I could hear it again. The RX is so quiet that every little thing catches your attention and mostly its something that you've put in the car rather than the car itself. -
Well this render is actually based on the NX and changed slightly. From the spy shots I cant see whether they will be plastic arches or painted arches but I guess we'll see. It appears that the RX wont be coming to Geneva, instead a Small city car based on the Yaris is being shown. The RX will probably come to New York motor show in the US where it's biggest market is.

Rx 450H Cvt
rayaans replied to F.A.'s topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Ill talk about the ride and handling first - best thing to do really is to test drive both versions back to back. You will instantly feel the difference. From my point of view, the F-Sport is the one to get as it corners flatter and has a good balance between ride quality and handling. The luxury versions are softly sprung and roundabouts are its worst enemy - it feels like its going to tip over. The F-Sport is more stable on the motorway as a result - had a narrow miss with a car the other day, had to quickly change into another lane and I do feel like the better handling saved me. Id hardly call the CVT intrusive. The RX is so quick in the midrange that by the time you've reached your desired speed - the engine noise stops so it sounds like it "kind of shifted" if that makes sense. In town its non existent due to the excellent sound deadening. The engine note is quite nice actually - it just purrs away and when you give it some welly, itll burble. You'll hardly see the top of the rev range unlike the IS250 either.
