  1. You can use M205 by hand with a german applicator pad - works the same but results arent as good as using a machine. Autosmart Topaz seems to be the one everyone is raving about at the moment for hand polishing!
  2. Paintwork from the factory will usually be scratch free. Problem is the dealers wash it and they end up scratching it if they're in a rush. Autoglym SRP is a filler heavy product. It'll just fill the scratches in for a few weeks. I'd suggest meguiars 205 on a white polishing pad to remove the swirls, then m205 again on a black finishing pad at slow speed with very little pressure to jewel the paint, it gets rid of holograms left behind by the first stage. Stick a coat of Soft99 Fusso on top and you should be good for 6 months, maybe more
  3. The self polishing paint is a tricky one. Apparently you can only use a polish which is suitable for self healing paint but Im not too sure. Best site to go on is cleanyourcar.co.uk. Check the descriptions for the polish to see if its self-healing paint suitable. Some of the Menzerna ones are and others arent according to the description so be careful!
  4. I highly doubt itll be as high as a smart car - it just looks like that because its as high as it is long. Its actually quite low as shown here: http://i2.wp.com/motoringcrunch.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/lexus-lf-sa-concept-geneva-1.jpg?resize=604%2C270
  5. LOL £300 +VAT? Thats insane - my bodyshop did a full dent removal and paint on my previous RX300 for £200 including VAT
  6. Im currently running on 37psi all around and i went through a whole year without checking and it was exactly the same as before so I wouldn't worry too much. Id say - get the cheapest one you can that is a well cared for vehicle. 2013 models had nothing extra compared to the 2012's so you'd be better off saving the cash. The one in Hull looks like a good example but Ive been in touch with them before, they're not exactly the nicest bunch. Personally, If I were you, Id be going for the one in Bolton. You have more haggling room with them too and they'll deliver anywhere in the UK. They're also a part of the RRG group which includes the dealer I bought my car from so their service should be top notch!
  7. Do people not understand that this is a concept car and its supposed to force a reaction no matter what it is? Look how the NX looked when it was a concept lol. Im sure it'll be greatly toned down if it comes into production.
  8. Hmm thats odd, the HUD is fine for me no matter what the conditions, even in snow! I also dont have the tyre pressure monitoring system which is an addition to the newer models I think. There havent been many changes at all so best bet is to get one of the earlier 2012 models like mine if you want to save yourself some money. The newer ones are exactly the same albeit with TPMS and some have the red leather (I didnt like this much as the armrest in the centre was black leather which was rather odd)
  9. Afraid so mate - £1000 is on par for what owners of cars with pop up hoods are paying. I was told that the pop up hood is only meant to go off once in its lifetime at which point the whole mechanism needs replacing. Google Nissan GTR pop up hood and you'll see what I mean.
  10. Already done mate :P It was a good essay criticising Top Gear. Would be pretty funny if they read it out this week :P
  11. Actually when you fill the form in online - it says "how many claims have you had in the past 3 years (5 years for some companies)?" Therefore, claims are 0 so you arent lying to them at all The ones that I have been on just recently ask for Accidents. Mike Fair enough, just making sure. So if they ask for accidents you have to disclose it? But if they ask for claims then you dont? I was just wondering, if you get in a slight bumper scrape with another car and pay for their car damage in cash, how would the insurance company know if you had a scrape in the first place?
  12. Im going to send Top Gear a very rude email :)
  13. My DAB is fine - works great and sounds slightly better than the FM but not by much. The bass is definitely crisper, apart from that not really a huge difference anyway. Have you checked the settings on each source? Because you have to manually set each and every source to your preferred settings. Ive found that DVD Audio sounds the best and then USB next.

  15. If you have sciatica - its basically a compression of the sciatic nerve which runs down the back of your leg. It originates at the spinal nerve at the S1 level of the vertebrae which is in the lower back. Its very common when deadlifting. Just a question - do you have any incontinence, inability to urinate or loss of sensation in the perineum? If you do, its highly likely you have Cauda Equina syndrome which is a medical emergency With sciatica itself - keep as active as possible, gentle stretching and gentle exercise will do no harm. Also, make a compression pack out of peas, hot or cold, whichever helps to ease the pain.
  16. Wow, all that fuss for a test drive?! When I went to my dealer back in 2012 - Lexus Stockport, part of the RRG group, I didnt even go to test drive! I just went to take a look at the car in person and they just handed me the keys to the F-Sport and told me to take a test drive! After the drive I asked if I could compare the F-Sport with the other trim levels and simply got handed a key to the Premier model! Anyway - how did you find the car?
  17. I like the surround sound though, that's why Id opt for the ML. Also, because I have it in the RX, going back to standard would make me regret it. Hmm yeah £1k is slightly high for a glass roof. Should be about £750 I think.
  18. I agree. I was considering the NX200T ever since it was shown. I looked at the options list and voila - no HUD, memory seats, 360 degree camera (although I could live without this) and the Mark Levinson (which I really like in the Premier)! I also believe I was single-handedly responsible for sending Lexus mass emails using various different names asking for the Panoramic sunroof option in the UK too! :P Im not committed to buy as the NX doesn't fulfill my need to have the same spec as the RX does atm.
  19. Car's still under warranty if its 2012 model isnt it? Take it to the dealers ASAP
  20. Isnt Lexus Swindon part of the Fish Brothers group? :P
  21. Im not so sure the 6 gears even exist. When I drove the IS300h, it felt like the car was dabbing the actual brakes to mimick a gear change? It feels much better left in auto really!
  22. I dont think it can match the desirability of the Evoque. I dont believe Lexus is very good at marketing to be honest, in the UK anyway. In the US the NX is in fact more desirable than the Evoque and maybe that's the market they were aiming for?
  23. He did rather like the LFA though didnt he? And the latest NX review by him was pretty decent considering the car's flaws. He also mentioned that he liked the look of the RC-F when it was on their news "sitting around the TV" bit last season.
  24. With regards to the wheel refurb - im pretty sure all dealers do that anyway? To be fair, fish brothers are great when it comes to selling cars, politeness and general courtesy. Its when the problems start that they arent very good at managing them. Same with Listers group, they'll be fine when selling the car or if you have questions, when you have a problem they'll take a relatively long time to sort it out. From my experience, RRG and Benfield sort problems out better than the others including any warranty work and servicing too.
  25. The only problem is, in a years time they'll be worth like £30k or even less once drive the deal starts getting discounts for them
