  1. That's because you drove the UX hybrid and not the EV which is more comfortable and quieter than the hybrid version
  2. Sure. But that's a personal problem not an issue with the car. I'm 6 ft 1 and manage to get in fine. It's no smaller than a Vw golf or equivalent really
  3. surely if you're banging your head on a UX, either your head is too big or you'd bang your head in any saloon car anyway? Lol
  4. The thing you have to be wary of is that the price likely indicates stronger residual values on the 300h in comparison to the 450h. At the end of the day the 450h is a V6, so it will use more fuel, cost more to tax, service and insure than the 300h and that could be a factor why it is around the same price now
  5. TBF from 30-60mph the GS300h is probably quicker than the IS250. Worth bearing in mind you won't really notice this as it doesnt have the traditional gears, always making a car feel slower than it actually is. I know from some stats posted on autocar etc that the IS300h (same drivetrain) was almost as quick as some 3L diesels with a lot more power during in-gear acceleration but it doesnt have the same level of urgency which is more of a feeling.
  6. It depends on your attitude towards risk like most things. Most the time you wont need it, use it or even think about it. When you need it and you dont have, you'll want it. And for that peace of mind and relative cheap cost, I wouldn't have a car without it.
  7. Interesting. You might find it drains the battery though if left for 2-3 days with. Just keep an eye on it
  8. So basically you need to pair the bluetooth on phone and car. Then plug the phone in via USB port. On the car screen in the menus there should be an apple carplay or android auto button which will link it up I dont know if for 2022 they made it wireless though
  9. They are OK for quick protection but Ive found that they dont last very well. Its much easier and quicker to just put a ceramic lite product like Gyeon Cancoat I put it on my car 8 months ago and its still on there albeit slightly flagging
  10. I'e got a white/red RX and it always gets compliments on the interior. I had black before and its just boring. Id argue that the grey exterior is pretty boring too. Just bear in mind that almost all of the NX's on the road will be black/white/grey. Go for something different - Blue w/ white would be my go to. Its one of the reasons you opted for Lexus in the first place after all!
  11. The answer is the cheapest one provided its by some kind of insurance company you've heard of 😉 On a side note I think insurance probably goes down after 30-35. My son is also 26 and his insurance has been consistently going up year on year. He pays £1200 on the C200 albeit remapped to 250hp although he was only paying £800 on the Jag XE-S. He managed to get 6 points recently for blasting through a dual carriageway at almost 80mph (Had just stepped down to 40mph and got caught by a mobile camera) and that barely made any difference to the insurance - went up by £50!
  12. Just keep taking it back. Eventually they'll get someone in from Japan to sort it out as they do with unusual issues occasionally.
  13. Yep definitely weight saving. Seems to be on all newer cars nowadays - had a C-Class coupe courtesy car the other day and it was the same
  14. A lambswool mitt or something similiar gets it out of those crevices for me.
  15. Thats quite useful. I'll bring it up before the service and see if they can do the software update whilst its in
  16. Congratulations, 1, 2 and 3 are not worth it. Can get cheaper cover elsewhere. The dealers will mark the price up of 1, 2 and 3 considerably. With the ceramic coating its hit and miss. Some dealers will slap it on. Others may do a half decent job but its best just to get a detailer to do it.
  17. I had about 150 miles from it which I thought was OK.
  18. Yes. So the car hasn't has an issue since. Recently just been on holiday for 10 days and it started up straight away so definitely connected services to blame
  19. Not strictly true. Like most things - multifactorial. Aging population due to increased life expectancy and improved access to healthcare, exposure to artifical UV lights i.e. sunbeds, genetics, increaseing culture to get a tan in the first place and also easier/cheaper travel abroad.
  20. I echo the legroom comments. I think its probably around the same as the previous gen but the darkness with black interior makes it feel worse. Get a lighter interior and should feel more spacious. The was considering getting an NX450h+ but the issue is I have 3 kids and I think my wife has been feeding them too much as their legs are too long....
  21. Had a full tank on most my car purchases. Lexus Chester - full tank and flowers Lexus Stockport - Full tank and flowers. On the EV got a full battery charge but no flowers. Lexus Bradford (dont exist anymore) - Full tank and a box of Lexus branded sweets. Lexus Cheltenham - Full tank of fuel.
  22. Well the issue is, that statement isn't true. Using your example, dependent on speed and other variables, doing a blast in 20 minutes will produce more than double the emissions than your neighbour doing his journey in 40 minutes at a steady lower speed. There's lab research that proves at 60mph travelling for a few minutes more still reduces emissions significantly compared to travelling at 70mph for a shorter period of time. In reality, the difference is probably even more as we all know most vehicles are blasting down the motorway at 80mph+. The problem with the 60mph rules is that it doesnt make any logical sense. If it was about "Air quality" then EV's should be exempt. Maybe its the cynic in me but I reckon its probably a good money maker.
  23. Load of tosh. The ux300e does the basics right. Good interior, smooth ride (smoother than an RX) and handles better. It's more comfortable than an ES too Yes its not got a lot of space but when there's usually only one person in the car and it's used in town or for short journeys that's not even an issue. Take it from someone who has both.
  24. Depends on the dealers valeters and which products they use. Best ask directly
  25. David, I honestly believe you've managed to get some kind of vehicle that wasn't looked after or bought from a poor dealer. Many owners have had no noise or vibration issues from an IS300h. It's certainly quieter than my newer Mercedes C-class which is reasonably quiet. The points you make of Lexus main dealers has no real value as it's the same across most if not all main dealers. They're more expensive than independents as a rule. Additionally, the car being in auxiliary mode is no problem. It will turn auxiliary mode off after a certain amount of time. In fact I've had it on for 30 mins before it did this. The rear passenger vents work just fine like on most cars. Check the settings!
