Any Accountants On The Board?

Im not too knowledgeable on this as I have an accountant myself but if you are a company director doesnt that mean that you are self employed? I have a company too and Im listed as self employed. In which case, your company, depending on how many directors there are will be paying for the car which means you'll be paying from your pocket + the BIK if you go down the company car route? Wouldn't that work out alot more expensive? 2 year CH is going to cost you £11,349.64 + 50% VAT (£1134.96) as you use the car privately too (to and from work etc) Yearly cost = £6242.46 3 year CH will cost £16358.98 + 50% VAT (£1635.9). Total = £17994.88 - YEARLY COST £5998 PCP will cost you £19951.02 after reclaiming 50% VAT. Yearly cost £6650.34 Thats before any other advantages. Hopefully, someone with more knowledge can chime in -
OMG had a real scare! Going at about 40mph on a duel carriageway and a cat came running across. I swerved out of the way, hit a curb pretty hard for a good metre or so. Pulled over, checked the rim for any curbing. The tyre saved the rim!! The Michelin's stick out a fair bit, took most of the damage on the rim protector :)

Guys it appears the reviewer has been reading this forum! The review has been updated for month 4 :) Again, very balanced views. Worth a read. http://www.motoringresearch.com/car-reviews/long-term-tests/lexus-300h-2015-long-term-review-0417962432 Something I also noticed. The reviewer wrote in the "Notebook" section towards the bottom of month 4 that the audio was cutting in and out due to the satnav instructions. I thought the IS couldnt do this?

Polishing Your Car
rayaans replied to Burroo 67's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Id try and get the Black Max and the sealant put on in the same day if I were you. Reason being is that the Black Max is a glaze and the fillers will be removed if you wash the car after putting it on. Its polymer based so no need to use IPA or wash as there wont be any bonding issues. Stick 1 coat of sealant on top, should take 15 mins. Key is to use very thin layers (use a damp applicator, helps alot in thin layers) Wipe off and then you can leave overnight. Wash the car before you put the wax on. Again, damp applicator and thin layers. Only put 1 layer of the wax on as at this point you will have 3 layers on your car. Glaze, sealant + wax. There's no point in doing more than 3 layers on any car as it wont help durability after this point -

Yep kit has good stuff in it. The lake country ccs pads are the best imo. I was confused as to why there's no white polishing pad in the kit. It turns out that the Black Max is actually a glaze which means it boosts paint depth and shine, fills in most swirls and gets rid of very minute swirls. So really you could use this as much as you want as it doesn't actually remove any paint. stick the extreme elements on top. I've only heard good things about it. 2 months durability I think. Max shine is a funny one. It's a polymer based protective liquid but I can't see why you would put it on top of extreme elements. Seems a bit pointless. And the spray shine, you could just use that just to top the protection up and add some shine -

Would The Is300H Work For Me

Safety features are being released on all models later in the year I think. -
The tests show that it does very well indeed. Would be a great tyre if it works as it should. I wonder if the new Michelin tyre on the RX will be any good. Actually, I wonder if it'll even come to the UK! We seem to always run on either dunlops or bridgestones although Yokohama is coming on some models now I very much doubt it'll be an OEM fitment, but Michelin are expanding the range in 2016 so hopefully RX sizes will be coming then. Its definitely OEM fitment in the US as they showed it there but somehow I have a feeling its not going to be available in the UK.

We Live In A Technological Age.....
rayaans replied to Rabbers's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Sadly the problems facing the NHS is something I don't think even a genius like Elon Musk can solve....I have the pleasure of enjoying it for another 32 years, at least .... Last winter was truly horrendous, by far the worst in the last 10 years I've been in A&E/Acute medicine, we were literally on the verge of shutting the doors completely, we were managing Level 3 patients in theatre recovery constantly, the A&E corridor was turned into a ward, ambulances queues around the block, even had the ITU consultant pretty much beg me not to refer any more cases because every Level 3 bed/space in a radius of 100 miles was occupied. Scary stuff But there's a life long worth amount of debate to be had about the NHS. Very true but I think the days of totally free NHS is coming to an end. Its just not feasible and throwing money into the system isnt going to help. Hmm back to technological innovations, has anyone heard of the water injection that BMW used on its M4 safety car? lol -

LOL I have to tell my patients to take piriton for hayfever. At this rate the NHS is going bust in 10 years or less and the government will just keep pumping money into it to try and save it. £5 an appointment and all these problems are gone. With 26k GP's giving out approx 1 million appointments in the UK per day, thats £5 MILLION revenue EACH DAY and no wasted appointments! Im actually sick of DNA's all the time! It doesnt help that pay hasnt gone up and we're doing more work for less, Im doing about 30 patients in 3 hours! Ive actually cut 20 hours a week as its just stupid giving away 45% of your earnings. Id rather spend more time with my family. Anyways, back to technology - It does seem to be moving quite quickly. We now have full EV's, conventional hybrids, plug in hybrids and soon, a hydrogen alternative. Hopefully there is some investment in the infrastructure to support the new tech as it wont grow otherwise but as mentioned, its good to have competition as it'll drive the price down! -
Check out their new crossclimate tyres - a true all season tyre which doesnt lag behind summer tyres in summer or winter tyres in winter! Also the new michelin tyre on the new RX has grooves which widen as the tyres wear to aid water removal. It rained over here yesterday, quite heavy with lots of wind. The Michelins were great, no slipping unlike the prior dunlops and very good grip too. Very pleased :) Lets hope the new RX doesnt come out officially in the UK in autumn as I wont get to test the Michelins in the snow :P

It varies upon your driving style but at 70mph on a motorway id say 45mpg is manageable in the F-Sport and Premier models. About 50mpg should be achievable in the versions with narrower tyres. Some have got more! Best thing to do, take one an an extended test drive and see if there is any difference. I doubt you'd save money on fuel itself but if the car is a company car you'd be saving a lot in BIK and road tax which is only £0-20 depending on which spec you go for. -

I've had my basic one since I first got into polishing. It's never let me down and has no trouble polishing so never been tempted. Although, when it packs in, I think I'll get a rupes -
It wasn't the P85d. It was the one in the middle but with loads of options on it, some of which I don't need or care for. Hmm talking about the M5, I drove an ex demo the other week. Was getting 19mpg according to the computer :)

Its one of the first fuel cell vehicles to come to the UK so its bound to be more expensive as its relatively new tech compared to EV's. The price will come down and EV's will be made redundant. All that needs to happen really is that all petrol stations need to take up hydrogen fuel cells and there you go, job done. No charging etc. Id be interested to see the Mirai range and if it actually is 300 miles however. The Tesla I had for 3 days only did 200 miles, its range was supposed to be 300. Cost a bomb too £75k
