  1. Nope but id bet on it that the median age of people taking part in the survey is 40 or over. The whole point is that the people who tend to vote are the ones who feel let down by the reviews of their car. Eg the owners of the whole Lexus range. There's barely any volume sellers up there, cars such as the Fiesta would obliterate owner reviews if all owners took part as the car itself is very good indeed and I doubt many would complain about it
  2. The survey doesnt mean anything in reality. The whole matrix they use is flawed. 61k is not really a huge amount of people especially considering how many cars are on sale and have been since 2003 (you can show your views on any car from 53 plate onwards). Also its worth mentioning that its not externally valid as I the age group of the people taking part in these surveys tend to be the older generation meaning its not actually representative of the population as a whole. This perhaps explains why Lexus, Skoda, Jaguar seems to prevail in the surveys, its because the older folk usually have more time on their hands to actually take part in the survey in the first place. Another thing to mention is that most people get given the cars they drive in the form of company cars, for example the Ford Mondeo. It sells like hotcakes but its not there as people tend to "revenge" vote and say its rubbish for every category. I mean if you look at the top 10, there's some pretty crappy cars there. Skoda Yeti and MG3? Jaguar XJ? (ok this one isnt crappy but the S-class is hard to beat IMO)
  3. Update - Parkers seem to have reasonable part ex prices for the NX. It goes quite nicely with the £5k Lexus profit actually.
  4. Doesnt actually mean anything. The Surveys are seriously flawed. Just shows how much time Lexus NX owners have on their hands?
  5. I think they may wait until the new one comes out and make a CT200t which should have plenty of power. The only concern for Lexus would be reliability. A 2.0l 4 pot pumping out 320-360hp is not going to be as reliable as an NA engine
  6. Tried getting in touch with Lexus Bradford? The RRG bodyshop is quite good although its based in Bolton. May be worth just checking how long theyd take and if they have the parts in stock?
  7. Are you selling yours privately?
  8. Have they given you a courtesy car? Id be struggling without a car for 3 weeks
  9. Sounds about right. The 2 cheapest NX F-Sport's are on the Lexus website at £37k, one with 10k miles, the other with 5.5k miles. If you haggled with them a bit more, they'd give you a max of about £31.5k and then put the car on for sale at £37-38k, expecting to sell it at about £36.5k. That'll give them a £5k profit. The reason dealers give you a low price is because that particular car could happen to just sit there for a few months going down in value and they wont want losses on it.
  10. Single chime when driving - Im sure this is the speed camera warning that cant be turned off Chime after opening door - I sometimes get it in the RX. Seems to be if a window is slightly open or if you open the door just before you press the ignition off button. Last time I drove the NX300h it was really hard to get the engine not to come on. I think theres just too much weight to carry for the electric motors alone and its not got the power to pull it forcing the engine to come in.
  11. Hard to argue with that. Do they give a discount on the actual list price though? In which case, take the deal and pay it off in a month :D
  12. PCP works out more expensive no matter what if you dont pay early due to the added interest. Take the extra discount they give, its usually £1k and pay the balance off after 14 days. Sometimes you have to pay 3 months worth of interest but its negligible compared to the discount given. I tried PCP once on a Merc a while back. They take money off for absolutely everything, including wrinkled seats (wtf?). Apparently, it was wrinkled more than it should have been, i just told them to bugger off, bought the car with the baloon payment then sold it privately! I dont think its worth the hassle though, I prefer getting PCP and paying it all off in a month or just buying with cash. Does work out cheaper buying with cash (although for some cars it doesnt if it depreciates alot, usually the high end models like the LS). Best to work it out first.
  13. I had a loaner with Bridgestones once - IMO it was quite noisy compared to even the Dunlops. Perhaps you got used to them? Id seriously recommend the Michelin Latitude's! The car will be sound like a vault with them on compared to the Bridgestones! Michelin Pros - cheap, very smooth (they complement the RX suspension very well, I have the F-Sport so Im sure itll be a cushion like ride on the other versions if you're into that), stick like glue in both rain and in the dry (took a sharp corner much faster than I should have done just to test them out and they were great, Dunlops would have had the slip indicator flashing). Also, its not advertised but its got a rim protector which actually work as I experienced the other day! Wish I had them on when I kerbed the front wheel as it wouldnt have happened otherwise!
  14. Perhaps. But then the dealer is obviously being more proactive in their selling technique and reaching a wide audience so maybe they should be rewarded with more sales compared to "normal" dealers. At the end of the day, Lexus is still selling cars so I dont see why its a problem.
  15. Tried them a week ago - only £3k off a fully loaded one F-Sport im afraid. Works out £2k more expensive than drive the deal was!
  16. Id take it to the dealer in all honesty. My Merc dealer only charged £80 for a regen. Hasnt come back since so I doubt Lexus would do it any more expensive. Their prices are quite reasonable for easy jobs like changing tyres (£50 for all 4 including VAT) and regen.
  17. As mentioned above, theyll either give you a larger discount on a new car and less for part-ex or the other way around. The key is to try and get them to give you a good part ex and a decent discount! Some dealers are happy to reduce their margins at certain times in the year, especially around Nov/Dec time
  18. Looks like Drive The Deal have stopped offering Lexus cars... Yep. There's still broadspeed, buyacar, autoebid etc though
  19. Trade in for the NX should be about £33-34k at the moment at Lexus dealers purely because they will make £5k off it. They wouldnt give £37k for it as they wouldnt be able to sell for £40k +
  20. I read it was 50% maximum to the back
  21. Quite suprised actually. The BMW is actually faster from a standstill. I think it must have been the extra horses from rolling or perhaps the 235i was too unstable?
  22. I've said this before - accelerate slowly down hills, let momentum + light acceleration to pull you up the other side. Momentum is key, the hybrids don't like stopping and accelerating alot Something else - HARD acceleration, then let the car maintain the speed. It helps a lot, I'm getting 35 - 38mpg in my RX :D
