  1. yes it does, not that you can confirm either way from the pictures. Cant see one on the roof of the red RX? I had one in my 04 RX300, I thought youd be able to see it at that angle?
  2. I fitted wider tyres on another vehicle. They'll help the ride as there will be a bit more sidewall but it may only be a small difference. Most noticeable aspect of wider tyres will be the handling.
  3. Too many variables for MPG. I consistently get 30mpg and I live in Yorkshire, hills galore! Im also a fan of Sport mode which I use regularly on B roads and on the motorway for added responsiveness. I have also never used the pulse and glide method. Obviously living in an area which has flat roads with no elevations is going to benefit fuel economy - hence, in London I can get 40mpg in stop and start traffic. Did you know a tyre with 3mm tread will give 2-3mpg greater fuel economy readings than a new tyre? At the end of the day, buying a Lexus with a 3.5l V6 Petrol engine is stupid if you're looking for fuel economy. Go buy a diesel instead. You buy an RX450h for the quiet, smooth engine characteristics and the fact that it isnt a diesel, not for fuel economy. If that's a priority, I suggest getting a 1.0l Aygo
  4. Too many things I dont like about it already 1 - looks like a Tesla Model S with a higher roof line 2 - It doesnt look as expensive as it should from the outside for a £60k motor 3 - Gullwing doors? Bet those are handy in a supermarket car park or in a garage? 4 - 250 miles range is not enough - I get 350miles from my 450h 5 - From the number of problems the US owners have with the Model S I dont think id trust it - it needs to be dependable 10k miles a year, every single time.
  5. A 450h will be cheaper to run that a 400h though. More MPG, less tax too etc
  6. Then it wasn't an executive that you viewed, just a basic 'limited edition'. All the execs have sunroof, power tailgate, rain sensing wipers, memory seats. The one in question also has the optional ML stereo. Better quality pics on the Lexus website: http://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/used-RX/RX-400h/3.3-Executive-Limited-Edition/Hatfield/2336568-604995863-1078916.aspx?srcmdc=se_na_re_ Well its not an Executive then because the car in question has no sunroof? Dont worry about the parking sensors - theyll fit them for free if you ask. Probably the easiest things to fit!
  7. I parallel park without the using the parallel parking option on my 450h. Havent kerbed a wheel yet (by parallel parking anyway). Trick is to keep the car a foot away from the kerb, job done :)
  8. Never driven Volvo's myself. Too much Stigma behind them as old folks cars! Maybe ill get one when I retire but highly unlikely. I think Lexus got it wrong with the NX. May as well have put the 450h lump into it and called it a day. That way, itd be plenty quick and still get 30mpg! Im achieving 30mpg exact atm without trying and tyre PSI is 33psi all around. When it comes back from the 30k service on the 28th of May, itll probably do 33mpg with ease as they'll bump the PSI to 37 no doubt! Oh and im not being conservative either! Sport mode nearly all the time lol
  9. yep you can get one. It depends on how well your dealers are at putting it onto the system.
  10. same system as paints4u but they're much cheaper :)
  11. Well I would have got an NX as the size is more manageable in town. But I didnt want less equipment than I already have so no ML pretty struck the NX off. I would have bought brand new as well, probably white/red with pan roof, full nav, ML + panoramic camera system.
  12. you'll probably be able to get everything on the RX F-Sport though. The NX has some weird marketing behind it lol
  13. You'd be able to get a spray can from paints4u for a decent price as well as touch up sticks should you need them
  14. I was actually speaking to a dealer with an F SPORT without nav. He said basic nav can be added but rear camera is factory fit only
  15. Auto express got 6.8s for the 200t :)
  16. james250 quoted you on the following comment of yours. Your OPINION came after your statement. You stated "You can say its OEM all you like, its not!" (exclamation mark) You're not suggesting that i'm wrong and you're right, instead you're saying that I can believe whatever I like but i'm wrong (ended with an explamation mark). That is a very arrogant use of words in my OPINION and hence I understand why james250 could have got cheesed off with such comments. I think we need to stop all the grumpy attitudes and not bombard the forum with all this rubbish. What I mean is it may look like OEM but at the end of the day, any Lexus fan will know it's not OEM
  17. That's your view mate. I agree with Andy and think it does look OEM. Besides, the 3is is a reworked 2is. The 2is was complete new design but the 3is isnt. So it shares alot of similarity. to say it doesnt suit you're talking nonsense and thats your opinion. They've reworked it with a flick on the side skirts and rear door and changed the design of rear quarter panel to accomadate the flick from the rear bumper. You come up with all these claims and Andy responds to all and you comeback with a reply almost as good as saying "whatever, you're wrong coz i said so" . For what reason? "Coz i said so, I'm mr right and my I'm telling you it doesnt look OEM" Well i disagree with you and I dont think it looks OEM. It looks like a replica 3rd gen bodykit has been added to the front. Also, if you read my post you'd see that I said "I dont think" which you'd realise is a phrase used when people express OPINIONS, or do I have to explain that to you too? And FYI, during the press release back in 2013 at Detroit, Lexus explained that the 3rd Generation IS is all new and completely redesigned. It is not a 2nd Generation IS with added bits. The chassis was completely re-engineered, elongated, the suspension setup was taken from the GS and the chassis now incorporates laser screw welding and adhesive bonding. I can also remember reading during the press release that the 3rd Gen IS chassis is a scaled down version of the GS and bares no resemblance to the 2nd gen IS. None of the body panels on the 3rd gen IS are the same as on a 2nd Gen IS. In summary, I dont know where you've been getting your information from but its not very accurate, I suggest you spend more time researching before posting. As for your comment on me "talking nonsense". Who are you to say that? Its not nonsense if I don't think it suits the car - unable to distinguish between opinions and facts? Are you trying to deny that my opinion is different to yours?
  18. Of that 195microns do you know what percentage is made up by the primer, undercoat(if there is one) colour and then lacquer? ID expect it to be evenly distributed really. But you shouldnt have any trouble with the scratch remover as the diminishing abrasives wont let you really do any damage.
  19. Dont have that, mine is just going to turn 3. The following links may help you fix it. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-third-generation/716071-diy-fix-small-squeak-rattle-and-ticking-driver-s-side.html http://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-third-generation/737114-complete-diy-eliminate-b-pillar-ticking-and-door-squeaks.html
  20. With the F-Sport package I still think the GS looks better than the Q50 though. Its 3 years old due for a refresh next year by the looks of it after the GS-F comes out around october time. Hmm, I have just driven a 200t and I will disagree im afraid. It does feel very spritely when you put your foot down on the B roads. In town, its not much quicker but on an open road it goes like stink. It feels faster than the 450h in my RX! Fuel economy was an ok 30mpg as well. Perhaps Lexus could put the 2.0t with the hybrid setup, call it the NX300ht and that should solve everything.
  21. You can say its OEM all you like, its not! It looks completely different and I dont think it suits the car very well. The front is way too aggressive for that body
  22. I don't think it's got anything to do with modding to make it look like a 2014 car. You recently got your wheels re-finished, does that mean you're trying to make your wheels look newer than they are rather than buying new wheels? no amount of painting them is gonna make them newer than buying a new set of wheels. It's just cosmetic enhancement that suits your tastes, exactly the same way with this mod which is just a custom bumper and no different from someone buying an aftermarket bumper or bodykit. It doesn't mean just because someone has an aftermarket bodykit/bumper they trying to make their car look newer than it is. I myself have a 2013 ISF, I like the style of the new grille and considering doing this mod on mine but trying to find a bodyshop willing to take it on. That doesn't mean i'm modding it to make it look like a 2014 3IS, I wouldn't want a 2014 3IS i'm quite happy with my 2013 ISF, but it doesn't mean I cannot customise and personalise. No one said that his work is not good. I agree the work is admirable and personally I would get someone to pay for it too. Having the wheels refinished is a completely different affair, they may have been corroded? The problem with bodykits is it never looks OEM - it always adds a "ricer" look to any vehicle, the kind of Fast and Furious look, or the impression of a chav behind the windscreen. Wheels are different as you can make them look pretty close to OEM. From a cost POV, its not £500 though is it - thats just material cost. You have to add time and effort and income lost from taking the work on in the first place. Itd be closer to £2k taking everything into account including the value lost by putting all the bits on - no one really wants a modded car unless its chipped or a show car. Also maybe its just me but the fender doesnt curve round as much from the front in this picture: Being the perfectionist that I am, that'd drive me nuts!
  23. Nah its not thin - its 195microns. Average is supposed to be 150microns so Lexus have put it on quite thick. Its just soft, but you wont do much damage with a scratch remover - 10microns max. Its only if you keep doing the same spot 10 times in a row - then youll be looking at 95 microns and you're in serious trouble at that point.
  24. Autosmart Brisk - low foam version for the seats. For fabric seats id recommend getting a wet/dry vacuum - good thing is you can use it on the carpets too. Just dilute at 1:20, spray on, agitate with a brush and suck it all out after a while with a vac. Works very well.
