  1. The bay of E's is probably your best bet
  2. Don't know what you've been reading but the new RX is coming with AVS, an active stabiliser on F sport models and a heavily stiffened chassis. Use of aluminium is going to make it lighter too. Maybe you don't want a diesel? And it's safe to say the Porsche Cayenne is one ugly car, only superceded by the Citroen Cactus in terms of ugliness
  3. Its worth noting that although the discs may be the latest version, they could be up to 3 years old. Therefore, the maps may not have roads on it made in 2012. My car is a 2012 running the 2012 disc but it doesn't pick up my house which was completed in 2010
  4. Premium nav also adds rear view camera which you dont get if you dont have the premium nav apart from on Advance versions. Even still, the Premium nav has moving guidelines whereas the Advance does not. Premium Nav also has the ability to display a small nav screen along with other screens on the homepage unlike the standard nav which does not do this. Rumour has it that Lexus is developing an updated system for the IS which should be quicker and have less lags too.
  5. but cant have one...... not going into production. It only goes in a straight line for 30 mins until it runs out of liquid nitrogen. Start of the future though, got to begin somewhere
  6. I live in Yorkshire...... And in a town not a city...... Never needed to use the high beams as the LED's are so bright. Now if I was in the wife's Mercedes, id be struggling
  7. No such thing as Lexus UK. Lexus in the UK is just a division of Toyota (GB) PLC. Even sent them an email - no brochures been made yet? This is getting on the verge of weird. They've even said nothing being released till October yet
  8. I have to agree with Rayaans. The LED lights are absolutely brilliant and better in my opinion than the Xenons in my IS250 and also in the is300h that I currently have as a loan car. They are however not full LED headlights as the high beam is still a halogen bulb. Not too sure why Lexus did not bother with a full LED setup here. Only really matters if you use the high beams. I've only used mine twice in 3 years
  9. Will they last as long as OE though? Im still on first set lol - 3 years and running lol
  10. Im not 100% sure as I dont have it on my F-Sport. However, it does come up on the satnav screen and is shared with the rear view camera, yes.
  11. Unlikely. There is a slight difference in how real leather and the Nuluxe fake leather feels. Itd feel different in different places and react differently to leather cleaning agents. Its either fully real leather or fully fake leather. Regardless, it shouldnt be happening at 54k miles. However, one of my good friends wiped his leather seats in IPA wipes - you wouldnt guess what happened - yep - it took the dye straight off! Perhaps someone's been getting too happy with IPA wipes? Or it could be a bad touch up job.
  12. Hi Rayaans, Went to look at your old car today, to be honest, if you saw it you would probably be in tears, two bald tyres, warning light on dash, scratches on bodywork, just hasnt been looked after, only one service since dealer sold it. It apparently ended up at a car auction in Bridlington. Such a shame after tHe way you looked after it. Wow that's churned my stomach a bit. When sold the tyres were at 6mm so it looks like they didn't change them at all, the work on the door card was shoddy and they've messed up the centre cupholder cover. There was no warning light on either so someone hasn't treated it right :/ Best to stay away I guess. Go for the RX350 if it seems pk to you. I guess Lexus Hull realised they could make some money off him. They have some right characters at Hull in the sales team lol
  13. Engine is different ie the new 3.5l V6. CVT has been improved to act more like a conventional auto and hybrid whine has been eradicated. My source has already driven the RX450h and 200t in Austria last weekRealistically 54.5mpg means about 35mpg. My current RX is doing 30mpg so 35mpg shouldnt be too bad. Ive posted pics of the Austria event in another thread if interested
  14. It's quite a lot lighter than the RX450h though. The whole car is deemed to get lighter than the current one
  15. Why can't you upload the brochure? Do you even have one? Lexus UK literally told me that Lexus GB doesn't exist and the official name is Lexus UK so anyone claiming to have anything from Lexus GB is being duped. They also said there is no brochure so can't send it. The only reason I ask for the brochure is to see the spec for myself and show Lexus UK. Its all getting rather silly, everyone's being secretive like little school girls before an exam
  16. I meant I haven't had any confirmation from Lexus GB. They're still saying it's not been released yet. My source was talking about the RX200t which should be cheaper. Any chance you could send me some pics of the brochure please? I haven't got anything!!
  17. Just sent them an angry email. I also stressed I would not be buying the new RX if the price is £70K as I think it's frankly unacceptable to raise the price by that much. I also explained how brand loyalty will diminish and current owners are already contemplating moving to other brands. We will see what they say! Gave them a link to this thread to read for themselves lol
  18. The RX300 engine doesn't have a chain, it uses a belt. Timing chain replacement was listed on the Ebay one which is an RX350 at £3k............
  19. I have had no confirmation yet. Lexus GB still told me the price hasn't been set yet. However, my source has said the RX200t is going to be cheaper than the 450h. I'll give Lexus UK an email now and see what I get
  20. There is a button on the steering wheel which activates it. It basically helps you see the kerb below the mirror, thats all. It could possibly help with seeing parking lines too. LED lights blow Xenons out of the water - thats all there is too it. Insanely bright, almost blinding to other drivers. The Premier also comes with the Heads up display which is very useful on the motorway and when there are a lot of speed cameras. It shows arrows from the navigation too.
  21. He mentioned hardware is not being changed at all. Simply a software update but they're trying to sort out all the problems and then release it so it doesn't have any further issues which is why its taking so long.
  22. My Lexus Source from whom I get all my information about future models has told me that Lexus are working very hard on completely new software for the IS - He said something like MM13 - no idea what that means but it should be out in a couple of months and its a MASSIVE improvement over the current system.
  23. Sounds perfectly sensible. Might have been one of the older folk. Obviously impaired mobility means they end up spending more time on the seat swivelling around and trying to get out.
  24. Yes, my door card wasnt like that. Mine was a rip in the same place but the leather was hanging off so I glued it down but the picture you posted has no grain on it which means someone has been trying to repair it im afraid. The rear bumper damage wasn't there - in fact, there was no damage to the exterior whatsoever apart from stone chips to the front. However, it doesnt look too bad, just a scuff which should be easily removable or repainted. Being solid black, its an easy colour to fix :) Of course, these are all bargaining chips for you and a good leather repair guy should be able to sort it out regardless. In this case, a good leather repair guy would probably cut out the affected part, put a piece of matched leather there and fill around it with liquid leather, finally he'd put the grain back into it. Leather guys can work wonders, they can fix cigarette burns and 6 inch tears so I think you should be fine. Id say you could get everything done for £500 with ease - it'd probably cost you around £300 total so factor that into the cost of the car. Id probably offer around £5100 to begin with.
  25. Just taken a look at the pictures on my computer on a big screen lol :D The tear in the door card is there and it looks like its still in the same position that I left it in - I glued it down to make sure it didn't get worse until I part exchanged at which time I thought the dealer would have sorted it out. The good thing is - its original, ie no one has been messing with it so its better for a leather expert to sort it out so expect £120. Another good thing is - you can use it as a bargaining chip to get the price down! Also, the Cupholder cover looks a little odd. Second owner must have done this but it cant be that difficult to put it back in its position. Interior carpets look a bit dirty but nothing a good valeter cant sort out. Wheels look to be in very good condition like how I left them - or possible been a refurb but I doubt it in 15k miles. Also looks like the handbrake has been tightened up, brake pads changed etc etc from the invoice too which is to be expected of a 10 year old vehicle. Good thing is - you wont have to get this done if you buy. I wouldn't worry about no stamps on the book as long as there are some receipts there. Not the first time someone forgets to stamp the book - some people just leave it in the glovebox with the manual and forget about it lol I think the intermediate service by Lexus Hull was probably done for peace of mind in all honesty. It sounds like they bought from Dace Motor Company, wanted to get it checked over mechanically so got an intermediate service done. if you go to view the car - make sure the original carpets are there as they can be cleaned quite easily. Again - bargaining chip if not present. It looks like the black mats are sitting on top of the original Lexus mats but you'll have to check that for yourself.
