I'd say the quality if the XE is worse. Like I said, no padding in armrests makes the car feel cheap and seats aren't as comfortable as the IS. Huge A pillar is pretty bad and rear seat foot space is rather narrow. Considering the IS is over 2 years old now and only 1 year off till it gets some significant updates, it's hardly drastic One thing I can't get over is the cheap leather. Feels almost like vinyl! If theres one thing Lexus do well, it's seats and leather and the Jag XE falls short in these departments It does have some pretty cheap interior materials inside, I think some parts are definitely CT quality

But now they're giving £3-4k off a new one which may show it's not doing as well as they'd hoped. After driving one ill be totally honest, it doesnt drive a cut above everything else in the segment. Actually, I don't think it handles any better than the 3 series or IS does! Personally, I think it's just journalists trying to big up the Jaguar, akin to the English Cricket team which are, in all hi nest, absolutely rubbish. They've definitely fixed the current ashes test. Australia are almost letting them win! Too many issues with the XE for me to like it. Journalists don't tell you about the poor padding and rough ride on anything above 17" wheels as well as the lack of proper sound deadening. Can't say the interior is revolutionary either

Well its not but I think it basically means that you don't have to change the oil and it'll make a little difference but probably not enough

Ncap Rating?
rayaans replied to Lara's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
No Ncap rating - doesn't matter though - no deaths in the US in the RX. One car even fell from a multi storey car park on its roof and the owner survived! -
Sounds like another low volume Jaguar seller then?My pal has just bought a BMW Series 3 GT which has as much legroom inside as my E Class! Regards John Appears so, only 90 licensed in the UK in 2015 quarter 1For reference, there are 96 RCFs licensed in the UK for quarter 1.

Ideally you should change the cvt fluid at around 100k miles. This isn't an official Toyota or Lexus interval but I'd say 100k is about right. This link should help : http://notpetroleum.com/2012/04/13/reconditioning-a-toyota-prius-changing-the-cvt-transmission-fluid/

The new c class boasts a nice design apart from that horrible screen, however, having sat in one, the quality is not as good as the IS in terms of materials. Their artico leather is durable but very hard and details like padding in the armrests are not that good. The seats in the IS are also superior

Actually depends on how much you're taking. The limits diazepam, lorazepam, clonazepam etc etc are much higher than normal prescribed doses so you should be OK to drive.

Sat Nav. Is It Good?
rayaans replied to Goggy's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I think the actual maps are the same. However, premium nav comes with extra speakers, reversing camera and connected services. Its a rotary knob, personally I find it harder to use than the touch pad (which is harder to use IMO compared to the joystick) I dont think the basic sat nav gets the split screens either. -
Yep pretty much!

Dont know where you got that from, all self-healing paint can be polished. Just make sure you use an abrasive polish which is self-healing paint safe. Menzerna make a few and so do scholl If you couldnt polish these types of paint, Nissan GTR's would never get polished!

I test drove an XE recently over a full day! It was the 163hp 2.0tdi r sport. Fine for normal driving but puffs a bit when asking for high revs. 17" wheels standard on that particular version gives good ride but looks absolutely wrong, especially with the sportier bumpers I also find the interior pretty ordinary, the main problem however is the A pillar. It's bloody MASSIVE!! it also slopes quite heavily making the whole cabin feel claustrophobic with the black headliner. I don't usually feel hemmed in with a black headliner but this was pretty awful. Oh and the armrests are rock hard. Maybe they forgot to use foam padding? Rear seats aren't very accommodating for big feet too. Size 10s just about fit but the opening under the seat is so narrow that you have to sit with your legs closed. I can imagine you'd get severe blue-ball syndrome after 3 hours on the motorway in the back seat!!

Fifth Gear Tests Lexus Nx
rayaans replied to AlanDL's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
They were spot on about the NX on most counts. Surprising they didn't say anything about getting up that steep hill. It looked slow as! -

Some Urgent Help Needed Please....
rayaans replied to bluenose1940's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Im sure any lights switched on turn off if left and the battery is nearing depletion It does on my RX anyway so would have thought it applies to the IS too -

Lexus Nx True Mpg
rayaans replied to jawadarif's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
The only difference between the NX300H and the cars you mention is that the other cars have ALOT more power. A 2.5l 4 pot is never going to be as good at hauling a 1.8 tonne vehicle as a 3.5l V6 is and has to work much harder resulting in lower MPG -
Can't say it's any worse than my wife's current C220 CDI in terms of throttle response and the Merc has an overly aggressive traction control system too so no surprises. I did floor the IS300H in a corner in Sport mode and it did a nice flick in the rear end and the traction control got it back in line so can't complain. If it was a BMW I'd have wrapped it round a lamp post me thinks

I'd like to think so! Regrettably I have kerbed an alloy and of course, stonechips and leather wear is inevitable! Stay tuned for the updates. Interior section coming soon! -

Im just in the process of writing up a detailing guide which may be helpful for you. Ill post it up in the Detailing section. Basically the process is wash - clay - polish - wax. If you have clay already, just use it with diluted car shampoo. If not, Id recommend getting the G3 clay mitt, makes the process much faster. A quick beginners polish is Autoglym Super Resin Polish. Personally, my bottle went runny so I got myself some Autosmart Platinum which is great! Any wax of your preference will do. Polishing brings out the shine, wax just protects the paint from bird bombing etc etc

RRG generally get very favourable reviews here. Stockport, Bradford and Bolton are good. Whenever I've been to Manchester they have also been good. The photographic evidence you mention is for Lexus UK to do their own checks as they pay the dealership for any work carried out. Therefore, a dealer could technically just vouch for any customer damage ie a smashed side mirror to fork out extra money from Lexus UK which is why they ask for it. Not the dealers fault on that one.
