Never heard of this issue before. Is the vehicle not under the Lexus Relax scheme or extended warranty? How many miles are on it? Unfortunately it's very unlikely anyone would have much experience with it. An option you could try is Lexus UK. They are very good and would rather a Lexus remain on the road and can massively subsidise costs of repair for unusual problems
-
Generally depends on how many sales they expect to achieve and the area that they cover, along with costs of purchasing or leasing the building. Its likely that if theres a dealership covering a large area itll naturally be larger in order to stock more vehicles.

Like I said, not entirely true. Definitely true if part exchanging after taking delivery but that would be similiar to any other vehicle. Not really true for this model as the updates are too minor on the face of it and some buyers wont care. The other aspect is that Lexus dealers tends to control the second hand market for cars under 5 years old unlike other manufacturers as the bulk of cars end up with them

NX300h to NX350h Queries
rayaans replied to malcolmw's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Well yes, the theory is there. I believe Jag came out with it a few years ago but the main problem was that theres no real perception of how far vehicles behind you actually are unlike a normal rear view mirror -

Not had an issue with it but it's still a bit pointless unless you're driving a van, In essence surely it's just like looking at a display so it'd be similar to looking at the instrument display behind the steering wheel would it not? -
It's because the premium sports edition is a special model. They're usually released about a year before a facelift or model change. I think the mercury grey replacement is sonic grey? Platinum is silver

Its a mild update with no exterior changes and unlikely to affect the values as much as a proper mid cycle refresh would Both options would cost more money than staying put. Id imagine the discounts on the MY23 model will be much reduced. Keeping the car and Part ex will be even worse, youd instantly lose £5-10k

NX300h to NX350h Queries
rayaans replied to malcolmw's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Theres no way to disable it from the vehicle itself. The UXe has it too and theres nothing in the cabin or settings to suggest it can be turned off even temporarily -
NX300h to NX350h Queries

Yes itll come with the sound thing. You cant disable it and it was quite annoying at first but you get used to it. It switches off over 20mph or so anyway. -
Its likely to be phone related or potentially something in the settings causing the GPS to turn off if the phone is idle maybe.

Rough paint and spotty wax. Anyway to correct?
rayaans replied to MrTrendizzle's topic in Lexus Car Care & Detailing
You fail to say what wax you used and what decontamination process you followed before applying the wax if any? Tar spots and other contamination will cause that effect as the wax residue doesnt rub off them like it would on paint. Its likely the car needs a full decon including tar removal, fallout removal and clay bar followed by a machine polish. There's no point using a clay bar if you're not going to polish it afterwards as youll introduce a lot of swirls and marks, especially on Lexus soft paint - even worse when its black! -
Well luckily my accountant is a good friend of mine so just tend to call him directly no matter what time of day

It can be a pain. Half the time I end up doing something in the house or the car when I should really be working. I don't drive as much so go out to burn fuel for the sake of it. It does save some time though but that's probably because I'm doing things on a weekday that I should be doing at work. I'm technically self employed but I get paid regardless of what I'm doing. The problem is that my profits suffer if I'm not looking at what the team are doing so I'm probably losing out. Will have to give the accountants a call....

Just contact them by phone and see if they'll give you a settlement figure

LC500 V8s back to mid £40k by end of year?
rayaans replied to Flytvr's topic in Lexus LC500 / LC500h Club
Unlikely - Id say theyll stay around £52-55k -
This is Fuji Red Much brighter red than the usual Lexus red

All depends on documentation. VAG group let you keep the incentives and so does BMW. With Lexus I'd check the documentation and then if it's unclear on incentives I'd wait after 14 days and then settle it.

Theyve added Sonic Grey which seems to be slightly darker than the Mercury grey. Matter of time I suppose, theyve been using Mercury grey for 10 years! Likely if yours is a MY23 build, theyll inform you of the slight price increase and a option to change colour. Boot capacity will be the same, as will the drivetrain. Sonic Platinum is about the same in terms of shade but it appears to have more reflective ability. In some lighting it almost seems to look very slightly blue. The black interior appears to be shown with black headlining. No idea on hazel but itll probably come with a similiar colour headlining, or black depending on how the accountants look at it. Hazel is more of a brown shade . Ochre is nearly orange

Pearl...Sonic White/ Eminent White question.
rayaans replied to WearLexus's topic in Lexus CT 200h Club
The car is Sonic White in the UK paint code 085. It has different names in other markets hence the confusion. The information you're after has been removed from the V5C due to data protection laws. It may be on service documentation however so see if you can find anything on there. The other option is to check the MOT history here https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/ Then click on "view test location" and itll ask you to put the V5C number in. Itll give you a broad idea of where it was kept. In terms of Iron X, its good but overpriced. There are loads of fallout removers out there. I use this one. Double the size and very effective with free postage. https://detailedonline.co.uk/products/iron-fallout-remover-500ml?_pos=1&_sid=9dacf3d39&_ss=r&variant=7560584593463 You will get through a lot of it with a white car. The other thing youll need is a clay bar -
I think im in a more fortunate situation that most. I could change cars now but Im waiting for the new RX to come out. I realise bills have gone up and can see more money going out of our accounts but not to the extent that I would change my spending habits or lifestyle. My utility bill seems to have jumped the most out of all my spending in terms of percentage. Its gone from £200 to £600 a month. The pandemic seems to have actually boosted my investments and income as I did a lot of investing and things I wouldnt normally get time to do during the middle of it which has offset everything else

I think the braking distance is over 10m between A to E but not sure on the fuel efficiency. I doubt the fuel efficiency figures are of any use as its too variable. I wouldnt go any less than a C on braking distance.

To keep it simple, the ES300h tyre size is 235/45 R18 94W from factory You can go up on the load rating e.g. to 98 if required but that may negatively affect ride quality You can go up or down on Speed rating e.g. from W to V provided you won't be exceeding that speed There are so many options available. Uniroyal Rainsport 5 has a slightly softer sidewall for better ride comfort. Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric 3 or 5 is also available in that size and thats the one Id go for. Ive had it on almost every saloon ive owned including a supercharged Jag and its brilliant in all conditions. Its also very quiet

Theoretically the spark plugs should be changed on distance travelled and not time. The Lexus servicing scheme doesnt really allow for this. So a car which has 10k miles would end up having spark plugs changed at 60k. The Lexus Essential Care servicing that they used to do for cars over 5 years old was great in this respect. You just had the major/minor service done and then add spark plugs or whatever else maintenance needed doing for extra cost. This was ideal for low mileage users
-
No doesn't seem to work like that Everything is online and you just take it in for service and they carry out the service required. You can't really chop and change the services so you can't just tell them to carry out a 60k/6year service without a spark plug change
