They are required to give their selling price to OP or the PX which ever is the greater sum Not exactly, citizen advice state they should give the agreed P/X price as its agreed they would have done some work to the car before selling it on

Which Lexus dealer is it? Name and shame buddy so others can be extra-cautious with the dealer when buying. They should refund the money you paid for the car, they have done this. However, they should also give you the P/X money. Now obviously you will be on the losing side of this due to retail value being higher than P/X. The campaigns for the new RX haven't started either yet and that's arguably the most important model they'll be releasing until the new CT Just received a marketing email from Lexus about the new RX, must say looks really good indeed. I got one a while ago and the brochures were posted to me end of October.

It does make sense regarding the painting for blending and I know that a lot of bodyshops do it as standard practice. However, I have seen bodyshops which just do the panel fitted and do tonnes of prep before painting to make sure it'll look right. I think it takes much longer but it can be done. Probably a cost thing really

I dont agree with the blending in - Modern paints don't need blending in - if they're blended there's going to be a distinctive line between where they blended it and where they didnt. I took a look at the invoice I got which was initially £4.5k. Only damage was front bumper and right fender. They were trying to replace the door, the handles, A pillar, fender and blend the bonnet. They were also going to replace the grill and all lights as well as the F-Sport badges after inspection. F-Sport badges are stuck on yes, they can be removed and re-attached though. The Fender needs replacing and the bumper but I highly doubt they need blending in on a car only 2 years old in our case. Although the paint is a tri-coat pearl, its not as sophisticated as Arctic pearl to get right, it hardly pops. As long as the spraying is done in the correct direction there should be no problems just painting the changed parts.

Half of that doesnt even need doing. A new bonnet and hinges can be popped in without any "matching" paintwork, dont know what they're talking about there tbh unless there's damage to the fender. Bumper may need replacing but I highly doubt the fenders do and you don't need F-Sport badges if there's nothing wrong with them You dont need to match the paintwork unless there's a significant difference in colour which is highly unlikely on a car so young.

Like I said - its very rare for it to go off. Its not exactly a pain to get it sorted either. Literally takes 1 phone call to insurance and 1 to a bodyshop of your choice, car will be done in a week. My wifes IS is being sorted, new bumper and new fender in a week so I doubt itd take any longer for a pop up hood sorting. Cars dont show accident damage on the HPI check or any other check unless they are written off.

Full 5 stars with best in class for pedestrian safety. The body just seems to flex around the made up leg and go back to its original position! And pre-collision system avoided crash at all speeds which is an improvement over the NX which hit the dummy car on the last one.

Only if they have significant damage. Wife's IS is going tomorrow. Damage on the IS is worse than yours with initial bill coming at £4k. However they've looked at it properly and bill is actually £2300 as door and a pillar don't need changing. Only changes here are fender and bumper for me. I am also with LV under the highway name and no problems

It's the same as the IS300H. You need to manually pull the stalk after ignition off. The lights stay on for 30s if they are in the ON position automatically however, on the IS anyway

Id say the QI charger is only really useful for people who have a QI charge enabled phone from factory. It takes longer to charge with the strips and adapters and its much easier to just keep a spare charging wire plugged into the second USB port and just use that

Did you go through the insurance company "approved" crap repairers? Make sure you check the work out buddy - good luck! On a side note, 2nd December is pretty quick. Wife's IS is being taken on the 1st of December and coming back on the 8th!

I don't think the RC has had its official UK launch yet has it? I'd expect the full marketing campaign will be done after the official release
