  1. Selection of pound land kiddies paint brushes work very well too lol
  2. If you've disconnected the battery and yhe car has got out of limp mode then id strongly suggest going on the motorway for half an hour each way to unclog it. It's the first thing i'd do. Come to think of it, it could be a faulty dpf sensor as the merc had issues with that too which would send check engine light on
  3. What's a forced regen? It's a forced regeneration cycle to burn the soot off. They stick a special additive in the tank and it blows all the crap out of the exhaust. Shouldn't cost anymore than £100Manufacturers don't tell you because they expect people to know. It's written in the handbook and of course it'll damage sales if they do. Also damages profits as typically diesel cars are more expensive to buy. If the DPF is clogged with soot it's good, just needs a clean, if it's clogged with ash you'll need a new one. You can actually take the thing out in all honesty I hate diesels now, Mercedes lured us into one years ago and it had dpf problems after 3 years which was a pain. We hadn't been told
  4. No engineering here at all. Completely opposite field of work but don't forget that direct injection engines without injector cleaning systems such as port injection will benefit from additional additives on a regular basisIf I'm not mistaken....... The IS has an inline direct injection engine but I can't remember whether it has port injection The IS250 suffered from carbon build up, so do most naturally aspirated cars without injector cleansing systems. A lot of NA Audi's like the older RS4, S6 etc suffer from it
  5. Each to their own but I prefer a clean look hence no mudguards (ever) don't care what car it is and no add on door sill protectors or anything like that The only thing I allow is a rear bumper guard Frankly I don't get how they help either. They just trap muck inside them and it's something extra to dress/polish esp with the IS being a pain to polish in the first place
  6. Well hopefully they have longer legs than a foot!! I was taught that you should always park a foot from the kerb unless the road is narrow at which point you should mount the kerb but not enough to obstruct prams etc I find that not parking a foot from the kerb also reduced the risk of keying
  7. That's music to my ears! I'm a Windows (phone) fan, would love to see Lexus support for it but won't hold my breath. I'll settle gladly for not having to see the Apple or Android logo every time I drive my car Microsoft could easily make a car system if they wanted to
  8. Wow I've never touched the ground with the IS and Im in Yorkshire!!. Must have been some big hills You can buy touch up bottles from your Lexus dealer. It's £10 for a kit. If they charge you more, take a look on ebay. Genuine ones are £10 from Lexus dealers selling on ebay. It has the paint bottle and a clear coat bottle. The match is perfect and it'll last you ages They will be visible from close distance but better than black spots What I'd do is touch them up now. Inevitably you will get a lot more and then just get a respray done when it gets really bad
  9. Lexus has vowed never to use apple car play or Android systems. Whether they are willing to allow Microsoft to do something is up to them. Toyota meanwhile has partnered with Ford.........
  10. Appears the 300h prices have gone up slightly but now comes with more equipment. GS450H, F Sport in particular has gone down to £49995 but now with added kit too including the safety system Crimson Red has been replaced with Mesa red and Azure blue is now available. Rose red leather replaced garnet red in F Sport models
  11. A better ride would be in order. It rides like a rock and refinement is a weak point at anything over 50mph. I think they need to sort that out. Btw new CT is coming in 2017 MY so next year
  12. This is why you don't buy diesel cars when driving less than 15k miles a year. Dpf gets clogged
  13. Try using standard BP. The BP Ultimate has poor usage. The stuff stays in their tanks longer so will inevitably have more condensation in it
  14. The only way you'd kerb the NX wheel is by hitting a kerb whilst driving parallel to it. Mounting curbs isn't an issue as it has large 65 profiles. IS wheels are still intact. I park a foot away from the kerb on all occasions in it lol
  15. Well its not oil as its white smoke. Sounds just like condensation and not much to worry about. Any car will smoke in winter. Where are you buying fuel from and how much do you drive? You'd be surprised at how quick petrol goes off
  16. It's the arm then and not the blade itself. Basically the fitter has either bent the arm or not fitted it correctly so there's not enough pressure on the screen
  17. What colour smoke are we talking? Usually white smoke which is like vapour is just condensation. Thicker white smoke could be due to coolant burning. Blue smoke could be burning oil. Basically take a look at oil and coolant level and check to make sure it's not excessively consuming. Also check your mpg. If it's ridiculously low then you may be burning too much fuel
  18. The 2nd gen RX300 does have a somewhat hesitant gearbox at times and will lurch forward sometimes. I had one before my RX450H and I can remember this very well but it never had too much impact on me. I think it is having more of an impact on you down to the coupling with the sluggish response you describe The RX300 had great throttle response. Could be anything e.g. clogged fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel lines or faulty oxygen sensor I'd be inclined to think the oxygen sensor is playing up as its a common thing but then I'd also expect the check engine light to be on. I'd get the car checked by a mechanic first buddy
  19. Daughters been a good one. Only vomited once and that was on tiles in the kitchen and had a one shot case of diarrhoea in my father in laws car lol thats what inlaws are for lol Was his fault anyway. Took her to brother in laws daughters birthday party and didn't take a look at what she was eating. Ended up eating food along with 10-20 mints (laxatives) and there you go hahaha
  20. No colour code so be prepared to do both on one side to match. The repair will be close enough to not be able to tell from side to side but not close enough that you can just do one.
  21. The engines you mention are turbocharged. Toyota doesn't have a turbocharged petrol engine. Toyota can definitely produce these engines looking at the 200t NX and IS which are very good, the smoothest 4 cylinders ever, they feel more like a small V6
  22. VW's TSI are temperamental. The golf's are having issues with their 1.4 TSI as well Audi's and seats equipped with them. And no they can't achieve 50mpg they get like 35mpg in reality Drop the 200t into the CT, detuned to 200 hp and more towards economy and job done. Or leave it as it is Or it might be worth keeping the 1.8 and sticking a turbo on it
  23. Daughters been a good one. Only vomited once and that was on tiles in the kitchen and had a one shot case of diarrhoea in my father in laws car lol
  24. First thing I did was check the paint under artificial light. Best place is a dark garage and use a strong halogen or LED to make sure there's no buffer trails or hazing on the car where they've done the repair
