  1. Black cars with silver wheels sure do look slick!
  2. Really? Dealer told me import numbers capped with limited number of units for sale per dealership, so high residuals almost guaranteed...Sales talk?? Capped numbers doesn't mean anything as you well know with the RCF! Cars going for £50k or less with at least £3k off that if you try! Lexus Bristol has listed their RX F Sport with list price £55930 at £52995. White with red and pan roof +HUD.
  3. Relatively rare. Are you thinking of buying from a dealer?
  4. I paid £100 for a water pump change on a Merc C220 CDI at 73k. Good to know the IS250 runs longer. Part was £50 and took an hour to fit. This also included new bottle of coolant
  5. Probably the pedestrian detection system talking to the ahb On a side note, £3k discount going on these already provided you buy a showroom model. They only have delivery miles on them lol
  6. Well I'd expect it to considering it has auto high beams
  7. Just get the 300. It has lower tax rate on it and mpg difference isn't much worse. Also you won't really need the extra power, the RX300 is plenty quick enough and has good gearing
  8. Yes they can achieve 50mpg - I've driven 1000's of miles in TSi VW's and Ecoboost Fords - driven sensibly high 40's / low 50's isn't difficult to achieve. To average 35 you would have to drive them pretty hard, in fact I don't think I've ever got the average that low In town no chance. Maybe on the motorway. Heck the eco boost mustang barely got 4 mpg higher than the GT when I drove it
  9. It should have a perspective mode - if you mean it changes the view from birds eye to other modes. There's no point using anything other than P, D, R and N on these cars It's a bit of a gimmick. Tricks you into thinking it's changing gears but it actually kills the power for a very short period of time
  10. The ones with the LED drl and the smarter looking front bumper are face lift cars. The other ones are older versions which were left over come registration time
  11. Most likely it's because they were probably beginning to rust so the previous owner skimped out and bought a set off ebay
  12. The perfect finish should be more than enough for the Lexus paint. On firm pads it does great on hard Audi paint so it's the best all rounder. The EX 04-06 may be too aggressive. Instead of taking the door handles off invest in a polishing sponge and just use that under the handles as its easier
  13. I think AVS would definitely be a good option for the CT. I think the suspension is unnecessarily firm. For example, the IS F sport has better handling and ride compared to a CT advance 2014 model!I'm aware that the longer wheelbase will have a positive effect on the ride but still! It might be worth taking a page out of BMW and mercedes book where they offer sport models with comfort suspension
  14. I wouldn't rule out foul play. Locking wheel nuts aren't exactly hard to remove
  15. Could still be a water pump if you lost coolant.
  16. Check tightness using a torque wrench. Should be 76 foot pounds. Id be inclined to think someone is trying to remove them
  17. Yes and it doesn't feel it. It's EXACTLY the same interior as the XE which may pip the IS but certainly can't match the NX for quality let alone something like the new RX
  18. Steve, as Ed said, the auto light function is adjustable, see posts 12 to 16 on this thread.HTH Malcolm Yep, aware of that, but don't see it makes any difference really, have tried it up and down and the lights sometimes come on really early and are on and off at the merest hint of darkness, and sometimes decide to not bother. Works well on both RX and IS on lowest sensitivity. Never had it come on too early. In fact, it comes on same time as my house sensor lights!
  19. Good to know. Detailing is honestly not as difficult as everyone makes out. Personally I'd always stick with a DA rather than a rotary. Machines like rupes make light work of defects with very little chance of damage. Rotaries on the other hand may be cheaper but oh boy I'd never give one to an amateur! I'm assuming you already have polishing pads of varying firmness? If so, get yourself some sonax perfect finish. It finishes perfectly on soft Lexus paint and rarely requires anything more than a light polishing pad. It's a one step and should save you loads of time!
  20. I've seen the F Pace in person. Fat and bulbous comes to mind. It doesn't looks great in person apart from the rear. And the NX interior quality blows it away. The NX has a very good interior for the price. I'm also concerned that an F Pace costs a lot of money when it's at the same spec as an Nx premier
  21. If it's like the one in the IS ill be happy as its a decent system and the ML isn't hugely better. I guess it'll be ML in exchange for the sunroof which is fine by me in terms of differences to my current car
  22. To be fair I think the RX is still running on 2009 wiper sensor tech which has probably been adapted for new cars. I guess windscreen rake would make a difference too
  23. All Lexus F Sport/F wheels are sent away. Have you ever used the wheel insurance? Only twice, that was on a GS 450h, as they can be repaired they sent a guy round to my house to fix it, no problem or hassle, he did a very good job of matching the colour, you couldn't see the repair, the second time i slid in the snow and took a chunk out of the wheel and blew the tyre, i took that one to the dealership, i cant remember if they had the wheel repaired or replaced it with a new one, i also got a new tyre under the insurance. i must admit over the years i have probably paid out more then i have claimed for, but i didn't want to take any chances with the wheels and tyres on this car. i think it depends on the type of parking you do, 95% of my parking is down a drive or car parking space, very rarely do i have to park next to the curb. Is it similiar to Audi wheel and tyre insurance where they change the tyre if tread is too low? Or just if damaged?
  24. Better than white though ;) Nah don't like it. Looks super dull. The white stands out. I'm surprised there's no azure blue or red availableHmm seen as though I'm out of the country, could someone check the spec on the White/Red F Sport's the dealer have? They seem to have a pan roof but I can't tell whether they have ML and HUD. Might just grab a demo model in a few months as I know it's going to depreciate like a falling rock Had a look at the F Sport demo yesterday. You'll get the panoramic roof and the HUD, but I'm afraid there's no Mark Levinson, and with the new configuration I have to say it's a shame because in the Premier demo it sounded absolutely amazing with the demo disc. Did you get a chance to listen to the standard audio system? Even the standard audio systems have always been good in the RX so hopefully they haven't put rubbish ones in this time
  25. Even if they did, they wouldn't listen. Market is very small for Lexus in the UK. In the states they do surveys on all the models when the new one is going into development
