  1. Angelwax H2GO or Carchem glass sealant. Both are as good as each other and they last a fair while. To be honest, I even rate Turtle Wax Clear Vue and Armorall rain repellant. All of them are reasonably cheap and get the job done without any issues (for me anyway!) Its great for winter as the water doesn't really stick to the car so no need to spend ages de-icing on a cold morning.
  2. Im sure the LFA is there. They've got it in one of their warehouses with the other press vehicles at Hedge End. I think Hedge End is near the top in sale volumes but weird enough Lexus Chester, Stoke and Stockport are at the top for customer service!
  3. Hmm 190k is just asking for trouble. 100k miles would be fine but 190k is almost double that. Plus, these things aren't cheap to fix if something does go wrong. Big bills if you need genuine parts for some reason Id rather be looking at an Auris, it drives the same and feels the same and frankly I dont think the interior quality is that much worse
  4. I think the Hedge End one is bigger. It's got a huge forecourt and im pretty sure the Lexus UK press cars are held there and all the Lexus model guides on the Lexus UK youtube page are set there Rumour has it that's where the LFA sleeps
  5. It's just a confused car. It doesn't really know what it wants to be. The IS had a clear goal which was to beat the 3 series. The GS was supposed to go against the 5 series and the RC F against the M4 The RC is more of a competitor to a 6 series in the way it drives and feels and almost feels the same size even though it's not. It's to do with the weight I'd assume Hmm need to get hold of an RC200t now. It's lighter and faster so maybe is the better buy
  6. What happened there then?! Lexus Birmingham price their cars quite well so would be good to see if Leeds can do the same. They also seem to have funky colour combinations so it'd be useful to get Birmingham cars down to Leeds I guess lol
  7. Just driven the RC300h F-Sport today. I have an IS300h F-Sport so can compare to that. Well its not a good start - the RC feels a lot smaller inside, Im 6 ft 1 and the seat had to be pushed all the way back leaving the rear seats useless. In the IS, I dont need to have the seat all the way to the back. The dash is the same with slight changes but whatever you do, don't go for black interior because its so bloody dark in there. It doesn't drive great either. Its not IS that's for sure. Whilst the RC-F feels good in that it has a lot of power and feels smaller than it is, the RC300h feels somewhat fat and bulbous from behind the wheel. It feels EXACTLY like the GS300h, a car which I think is great as it gets you from A to B in absolute comfort and you never feel like you want to smash the throttle as its a luxury cruiser. The RC makes you want to drive it hard but when you do it feels uncapable of delivering which is a real shame. Its just a rubbish feeling. The IS handles better and the rides is about the same but the RC feels so much bigger than the IS even though its not. Basically if you like the GS300h and are going to drive it like the GS300h, then buy one. If you're wanting handling then the IS is still better The only thing the RC has going for it is the looks IMO, for some thats probably enough. The weight can be felt on the road around the corners even at a leisurely 40mph and its quite nose heavy. Its an odd car and I cant really see who it appeals to. If you want handling then the IS would be the one to go for and if you want comfort the GS would be the one. The RC is trying to be a jack of all trades but it ends up being neither a great handler or has GS levels of comfort and refinement. Odd
  8. All IS F-Sports of this generation will have issues with inner tyre wear on rear tyres looking at the camber. No adjustable camber from what I can see either.
  9. Bear in mind that the underrun for the front sits lower than the rest of the car and looks awkward from side angles IMO
  10. 46psi is daft, the car should be running on 36psi all around. Id check the torque of the wheel nuts for a start should be 76 pound feet. Most likely its the tyres that are causing the problem.
  11. Could be to do with the disc itself. Might be heavily scratched etc
  12. Sell the car - only solution. Im assuming its too firm for his liking.
  13. The old generation was a Lexus in the traditional sense, i.e a bit boring and bland to drive my doors close with a solid thud and feel very heavy - i think too much greasing has been going on in your car! Very quiet too so dont really know what you're complaining about. I drive an RX which is very quiet and was actually rated as one of the quietest cars in 2013 and I dont think the IS is that much worse in all honesty
  14. The IS is fine in snow - yours should be even better than ours as it has narrower tyres! Just stick in Snow mode and don't do anything daft and you'll be fine. I scraped the drive out today (it goes downhill and then curves around to the road) and it was slippy when I was doing it. I was sliding in my boots but the IS didn't even make a noise apart from the pavement where I forgot to shovel. The Merc before it on the other hand was a disaster! It'd slide and make crunching noises no matter what but then, it was 400kg lighter so perhaps the IS weight has a benefit
  15. Hmm no idea - what model do you have?
  16. I've insured with Privilege a couple of times with a Lexus, they do seem like a decent outfit. Interestingly, the insurance for the LS430 when I had it was cheaper than the LS400, when I asked why they said it's because it has more safety features. Anyway, £168 seems OK to me. I've contacted Adrian Flux but I can't imagine they'll improve on that. Hows admiral coming up? seem to be very cheap for Lexus in general - im paying £460 for the RX and £280 for the IS.
  17. Have to say - the IS300h F-Sport performs beautifully in snow/slippery conditions even with the wide 255's on the back. Much better than the Merc C220 it replaced with 215 tyres all around. That car just kept crunching no matter what, even slipping on wet roads. The IS on the other hand feels very sure footed.
  18. Yep highly recommended the farecla one. Its cheap and does the job admirably. Although, I have come across nutters who havent "activated" it by rubbing it on the glass with lubricant......
  19. Nice! Granted we dont have an IS-F but my wife's IS300h has relatively aggressive 225/40 and 255/35 fitment so might stick 235 and 265 on later to see if they are better
  20. Its gone yellow. Any sort of decent polish will bring it up with some effort
  21. I think he meant fuel consumption would increase Still on 32mpg here. My RX does the same atm
  22. Wow I still wouldnt want a CT with 190k miles just for piece of mind - something is bound to go wrong.
  23. Looking pretty good - do they help in terms of kerbing?
  24. Hmm Ive just realised ive never used the demister in the rear window on any of my cars lol
  25. Did you have any issues with insurance company on that? Any pics on how they look with the stock wheels?
