If they sent you a video of the work that needed doing how can you assume they're fishing for work? The video serves as evidence of the problems does it not?

Yes, both tyres were run on 36psi. The manual actually says 32psi but i thought that was too low as the car wasn't as confident in the turns and visually, the tyres just looked deflated from the side on level ground. Not had any issues with 36psi. Feels much smoother on good roads and has added confidence in the turns. To top it up, MPG has increased by about 2mpg but that could be down to the tyres themselves. The thing about Lexus recommending Dunlop/Bridgestone is a bit of nonsense to be honest. These Michelin's are standard fitment in USA and Canada which are the biggest markets for Lexus so I dont think they'd go round putting these tyres on otherwise.

Honestly have no complaints. Had a bit of snow (very little I should say) but nevertheless the tyres did very well. They are still as quiet as day one, Ive put more than 7k miles on them now and wear is too little to care. Its gone down maybe 1mm in 7k so if that keeps going I still have another 25k+ left on them theoretically. Very comfortable tyres too, they soak up the bumps really well compared to the Dunlop SP Sport 270 with better grip too. Ive been running them on 36psi and they feel very surefooted and comfortable, not to mention smoooooth. I got mine done at Lexus and my wheels were left in the same condition as they went in. I paid £50 for all 4 fitting and supplied tyres myself which is an option I guess.

You cant remap a Lexus. The ECU is locked down. Id assume theyre having a bit of a laugh to be honest.

You should be able to grab it for £47-48k, they've had it a while but don't expect less than that. Must have cost a good £65k new that one

If its still going off then someone may be playing around with the car. Vibrations can also set it off i,e some idiot going round with bass on

When you're spending £20k on a car I dont think the fuel efficiency will be a factor as well unless you're doing crazy miles i.e 20k per year. Even then, the IS will get decent mpg if you drive it normally. No hybrid concerns whatsoever, in fact Id bet a badger the IS300h is more reliable than the 320d. It has DPF issues like most other diesels and constantly gets clogged if doing low mileage. The biggest difference is the way the cars drive and feel. The IS is more comfortable and refined with a quiet cabin. The 320d is a gruff thing and Im not a big fan of the peaky engine either as Ive been driving naturally aspirated petrols my whole life. The IS has a lot more kit as well. BMW's are either fully loaded or poverty pack, there never seems to be a medium

If the dealer can sort them out then it maybe worth getting the black one. The paint isnt exactly hard to match as its a solid colour and I would assume the edge of the door has been hitting a garage wall or something. Make sure you drive the one in Woodford before making a decision, Ive only ever driven the softer ones so no idea on what the older ones are like but Id assume they're pretty hard. I find my RX just about bearable in ride and the 11 IS-F was much firmer so I can only imagine what the older one was like.

The 11 plate has the LSD as shown by the blue on the steering wheel. Tyres should either be bridgestone or Michelin Pilot sport but at the end of the day it doesnt really matter as long as the tyres are up to the job i.e not budget tyres. The woodford one seems fair. You can be sure it wont have those nasty wheel gashes like the black one too but make sure the wheels are all the same colour

Well the cars I actually bought - ford fiesta, VW Passat, Lexus RX300 and Lexus RX450H Wife's cars - peugeot 106, Peugeot 306, VW Passat, Mercedes C220CDI, Lexus IS300H My wife keep her cars for a long time. The RX300 I used for 8 years as I had a lot of things going on business wise so couldn't change

I think it's like anything. Depends on where you want to go and what youre happy with. Sort of like buying new cars and demos. Some would never buy a demo and others don't really care. Personally I'd be looking at FLSH if purchasing an IS-F. After all its a premium brand and it's not exactly a cheap car to own or run. If you're paying £500 for road tax, what's an extra £500 for a service hey?

As mentioned its working fine. Basically if you put the car in Neutral, I dont think the engine will come on if the battery is discharging, whereas in PARK, itll come on automatically.

Rain x is OK but it can have problems if not applied properly. Angelwax and carchem are fairly idiot proof which is why I like them I. E you can apply in a rush and they don't mess up

Correct. Something that a lot of owners actually dont know about the IS300h is that it has a perfect 50:50 weight distribution whereas the IS250 is somewhat front heavy

Nah theres no code for the wheels. Id assume theyve tried to match it and got as close as they can to the original

My RX has an "Auto" setting button for the recirculation/outside air. I don't think the IS has this function

Worth going to Bradford in person. They do VERY good prices if you know how to bargain. Ive always been to Bradford, Leeds have been quoting me expensive prices for a while now - in fact the last trip I made it cost £50 for 4 tyres changing and £27 for an MOT. Leeds were charging £20 a tyre and £45 for MOT! Its also worth telling them that you've got a quote from Lexus Leeds of £1296.45 and they'll probably beat it (im sure Bradford have a price beat promise)

Ive always found that Lexus brakes on the general are quite good in terms of performance and longevity. I understand that my RX has regenerative braking BUT, Ive been impressed with how well it stops from speed and also the fact that I have only had 30% wear in 3 years. The IS300h brakes feel much stronger although they dust a lot as well, but nothing a clean can't sort out. The merc C class on the other hand had ******* brakes and it was only when changing to the IS did I realise this.

1500 doesnt seem to bad in all honesty. Not much torque in these engines at low RPM so sounds about right.

Yes, As dave1 has rightly said, there will be some sort of inflation added at certain points on separate services so you might find that the price goes up slightly. Some dealers dont give the Lexusownersclub member discount whilst others do. It depends on the dealership and some also give members discount on top of service plans so definitely worth checking it out as it might save you even more cash!
