  1. You might be better off just getting them from Lexus. It's highly unlikely you'll find a decent front bumper just lying around on ebay
  2. Autoexpress did a comparison between the RX, Cayenne Hybrid and Volvo XC90. No prizes for guessing who came last?! However, whilst I was looking at the figures - it appears the Cayenne is like £73k and the XC90 was tested at £67k whilst the RX was £58k. And...... something I wasnt expecting... although the RX has a slower 0-60mph time, it absolutely destroys both the Porsche and XC90 from 30-50mph and from 50-70mph i.e useable, real life speeds. 30-50mph - XC90 (3.6s), Cayenne (3.0s) and RX (2.8s) 50-70mph - XC90 (5.9s), Cayenne (4.6s) and RX (3.8s) Something else which I found very odd. The test was clearly based around efficiency yet the Cayenne did 22.8mpg and came 2nd (their argument being that they didn't charge it enough wtf?) The RX got 26.9mpg (I assume they must have had it in Sport mode and ragged it as I get 30mpg in normal day to day driving)
  3. I did check with my dealer. Apparently the idea is to have them listed at a high price and then give a huge discount on it. They're talking £5-8k off the listed price that they put it on which is already about £49k or something. Essentially you can get a nearly new car for £42k or so.
  4. I agree. It depends on the colour of the car too. With lighter colours I prefer gloss black but only if the wheels are dark too. On a dark colour I think full black just looks naff.
  5. Here you go. I bought them from here: https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/car-tyres/michelin/latitude-tour-hp/235-55-r19-101v-178484?utm_source=compare&utm_medium=google-shopping&utm_campaign=tyre&gclid=CPfmp4bwz8oCFSQYwwodmt4EfQ Same price as I got them. Even if Lexus charge you £100 for 4 fitting it'll be £148
  6. Yes but it'll be labelled as a Cat D or C which will be on the V5 so they'll know what they're buying
  7. Depends. Id ask Lexus how much they charge for the tyres fitting and if its reasonable just buy them on the net and get them to fit them. That way if they gouge a section of your rim out, you have some protection. Places like Costco may rush and they're well known to have ignorant monkeys working in the bays.
  8. Id assume if its been written off it'll be flagged up as Cat C or D anyway?
  9. MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY When you purchase a new Lexus, you are covered by a highly comprehensive warranty as standard. Lasts 3 years or 60,000 miles and covers any mechanical fault - including those caused by a manufacturing defect. Additional 12-year anti-corrosion and perforation warranty. 3 year paintwork and surface rust warranty. For hybrid vehicles, 5-year or 60,000 mile cover for both the hybrid components and the hybrid battery. Full details of the warranty can be found in your vehicle’s warranty booklet. Alternatively please contact your local Lexus Centre for further information. I would assume its covered under this?!
  10. You'd have to get the parts from Lexus directly. My invoice shows the bumper and fender to be £2700 altogether including painting as they dont come pre painted. With the grill and wheels you'd be looking at around £4-5k easily. Not really worth it. IMO you don't really need the premier. Only some models come with the adaptive cruise control which will be hard to find and apart from that it just has ML audio (The pioneer unit in the IS F-Sport with premium nav is 90% there) and a slightly softer ride (not much honestly). You do get the BSM but I dont really need that as Im used to driving on the motorway and I found the RCTA so annoying when reversing. There are 2 blacks - Velvet black (solid and deep) and Celestial black (has gold flakes in it and is somewhat lighter as a result)
  11. The prices have already fallen from what I can see due to the delivery of new models. I think you'd get a great discount on them. A good strategy would be to go in asking for the new RX and say you want a 10% discount. Obviously they'll say no and then they might say "oh but you can have 10% off on these" and show you the 3rd gen RX which is a bonus for you!
  12. Oh god no - definition of ricer when its fake.
  13. Im surprised you need more power from the IS300h and Im quite worried about the droning noise you speak of. What is this exactly? Mine goes like a bat out of hell from a stop light and isn't exactly what Id call slow in fact Im sure in-gear acceleration would beat a lot of faster cars.
  14. OK so yes, the air suspension would probably benefit you but only you can decide how much as im told there isn't a huge difference in ride. If you're after gadgets then the Premier is the way to go however, take a look at the Advance models as they are well specified too but miss out on certain things such as the heads up display, cooled seats, wooden steering wheel and kerb camera view. Id assume the only way to know if you really need the air suspension is to test out a Premier and a Luxury/Advance (same suspension as Advance but marginally lower spec). IMO the RX450h rides well and I have an F-Sport with the stiffer suspension so you should be fine. Let us know how you get on!
  15. Makes sense seen as though petrol is cheaper than bottled water though and with cars becoming increasingly fuel efficient
  16. CAP used prices. Be aware that they only give a free private sale value but you have to pay for a dealer value or trade in value. You can also check Glass's website but its rubbish IMO, gives rock bottom prices. Of course you can also check on autotrader free values which are somewhat low too and if all else fails, check Autotrader for the same age cars with same mileage and spec.
  17. OK got you. £13k is awfully low for a GFV! Don't really know what they're playing at. The other alternative of course would be to get the cheque book out and pay it in one lump.
  18. Ok so the Auto high beam is included in the adaptive cruise control package on Premier models only. Xenon headlights are fitted to all cars as standard and I think they're all auto lights as well.
  19. I thought you literally press the button and flick the thing down to set it? Not complicated at all. Then you just hit it up and down to adjust speed.
  20. They'll probably be full of the "nothing but a Toyota" remark
  21. He did drive a 320d M Sport though so I would think he doesn't care about that. Still, the F-Sport has a better ride than the M-Sport BMW IMO
  22. She wont be saying that when she gets her backside in the car though...... different league in terms of build quality. Or just get another colour?!
  23. It does have full post code entry. Some people miss it as its on the second page. Sport mode is plenty quick, almost too much in fact that the car is always in Normal mode for me. Takes off like a bat out of hell on the traffic lights too. If you go for the F-Sport you'll probably find that it handles better than the 3 series and the seats are perfect (dunno about you but the BMW seats are hard as hell!)
  24. 40-45mpg on motorways dependent on speed. In town, probably about the same in all honesty dependent on how warm the engine is. What you have to wonder is whether the MPG will make a huge difference in terms of cost. You'd have to be doing some serious miles to get a large difference at all. Satnav is easy as eating chips to operate compared to the slow XF thingy bob that they used on your car. Its probably more relevant to compare XF and Lexus GS costs spec for spec. I mean, the 180ps 2.0D Portfolio isnt exactly the most refined engine in the XF, its too gruff for my liking but the main issue is the price isnt it? A like for like XF will cost you in the region of £43k whilst a GS300h will cost £37k as the GS has things which are expensive upgrades on the XF such as adaptive cruise control - £1430!!!
  25. The GFV is just a random price plucked from the sky. The car WILL be worth much more than that after 2 years. Essentially it means thats the lowest price your car will be worth which is very very unlikely. If you think of it in another way - you can buy the car for £25k from them and sell it at £35-40k which is what its real value will be. Or, you can just use the trade value (again going to be much higher than the GFV) to trade it in and get another Lexus. So, in conclusion the GFV doesn't really matter at all, its just a random figure someone has come up with and bears no resembelance to what the car will be worth in the future. Its just a figure to make customers think that they're "safe" and won't lose "everything", sort of like a legal protection racket lmao Ill give you an example. The list price of my RX was £53650, which I paid in cash. The 3 year plans had a GFV of £23k. My car is now nearly 4 years old and I can get £23k part exchange currently. Last year it would have been about £27k part exchange. Something which just struck me - The bolton car is just over a year old. The Lexus website is talking about GFV on new cars. Therefore, the Lexus Bolton car only needs 2.5 years to hit the 42 months old landmark whereas the NEW car will take its full 42 months. Sooo the £25k figure does actually make a lot of sense as its the GFV for 42 months which will take less time for a 1 year old £49925 car to get to than the £65k BRAND NEW car. Hope that makes a bit of sense. Still, the car will almost certainly be worth more than £23k at 3 years old. There are 6 year old ISFs going for more than that.
