  1. You can leave them completely on and the sidelights will shut off after 20 minutes to preserve the battery. Id assume the sat nav time depends on the version of nav you have i.e older versions show shorter journey times sometimes due to the exponential increase we've had in traffic over recent years. Also, the time is based on the current location so if you are in Hackney and want to go to Wembley it'll show something like 58 minutes. If you travel a mile and then realise you're in heavy traffic and you move about 2 miles in 30 minutes, chances are, it'll still show 55 minutes or so. Its fairly accurate in free moving traffic to be honest.
  2. 65L tank in the RX. Short trips such as home to work, work to home so 2 miles each way apart from on Wednesdays yields 26-27mpg. Wednesdays, have a longer trip to work about 10 miles each way so get about 27-28mpg. On the weekends I go on the motorway about 90 mile round trip at 32mpg. Last time I went to Birmingham in my RX I got 35mpg! was pretty impressed lol. I leave the car in Sport mode on the motorways by the way.
  3. Might be worth getting a transparent screen protector and cutting it to size? It would work especially well if you have a laser cutter. Other option would be to print a template out, stick it onto a screen protector and cut around it?
  4. Keeping the colour combo a secret are we? Congrats and thats an impressive number of IS's!
  5. The IS300H goes to brake pads much quicker than my RX does though, hence the masses of brake dust on the front wheels! Could easily be warped brake discs so best to check them out. But, also check your tyres. My ABS on the RX was kicking off like mad when I was on 3mm causing vibrations.
  6. Bit of a thread revival but this what I managed to get after 40 miles or so. Pretty impressed although I was stuck in traffic for about 10 miles lol
  7. Never had any issues with tyreleader myself. But then, I always order the tyres as they are described. Im very careful when it comes to ordering from foreign countries. However, the good thing is that you've got the tyres and you certainly won't regret them! Itll feel like you're riding on a magic carpet when you drive on them for the first time. Let us know how you find them!
  8. I didnt know that - learn something new every day! SE-L shouldnt be a problem then as the air suspension is the main issue!
  9. Just an update - think Ive found the issue. The arm is not bent, neither is the blade or anything wrong with the refill fitment. I only realised this today when my son pointed it out - the left side wiper is leaving the dreaded "curtain lace" behind. Of course, this means the left wiper needs changing and I have ordered the refill so will fit that. BUT, for the eagle eyes among you, you'll notice that the rain sensor is on the LEFT side of the windscreen where the left wiper runs. So, due to this curtain lace effect, it thinks that the rain is there even though the driver's side is pretty clean leading to the wipers going off to clear the windscreen more frequently than they should be and hence, it runs through the rain X really quick on the drivers side!!
  10. That probably depends on how much someone drives lol. I fill my RX in every 3 days. My wife fills her IS in once a month!!! Of course I drive 10k miles per annum whereas my wife is near 3k or so
  11. I have admiral multicar - £460 for my RX and £280 for the IS300h for one year. The thing to remember is - prices depend on where you live due to the accident rates, stolen rates etc. It also depend on car desirability and where you park, how much you drive etc etc so its not as simple as you think it is. It may seem steep to someone in an area with low rates of accidents and stolen cars but itll seem cheap compared to someone in a place where accidents happen alot for example. All a matter of perspective. The best thing to do is go on comparison sites and also use brokers to find the cheapest quote possible for YOU!
  12. I should clarify that I meant wide enough. I like how slim it is but I meant the width in genera seems a bit small but dont know if its just the angle?
  13. In 2 minds. It looks OK from the pictures but I feel in reality it'll look tiny on what is a pretty wide looking rear end. And with you being in London (speak from experience as I spent half my career training in Guys), I have a feeling it'll be a pretty easy steal for the opportunists.......
  14. Avoid the air suspension i.e dont go for the SE-L. Its well known to play up. Sticky brake calipers and corroding wheels and leaking sunroofs. Make sure it look OK and works OK. Check the exhaust for corrosion. Apart from that not much really.
  15. I had my first MOT last year in the RX and they were just like we'll do it for £27 because we know there's not going to be any serious checking involved. Mind you I was on the 30k though.
  16. Don't know how expensive it'll be but you could go to a custom exhaust shop and see if they'd be able to cut off the curved section of the pipes and fit some tips on
  17. The rear diffuser of the IS250 will fit no problem. However, you may have to check the exhaust setup as the IS250 has a spare tyre which may mean the backbox is more proximal
  18. Oh god thats cringe worthy. Could have atleast got the car in another colour combo
  19. My drivers side wiper has been having issues recently too. Its leaving 3 smears. It's not the wiper refill as ive replaced it.
  20. No because downhill traction is to do with the tyres and brakes predominantly. If you have summer tyres on then no 4x4 is going to go down a snowy hill without losing traction. Essentially, it'll do pretty much everything the RX300 can do.
  21. I never popped my RX300 into S mode and even then I never felt it was slow - not like the NX300h anyway!
  22. Yep Orange would go well - factory option for the guys over the pond for the RC!
  23. Wow they must have wanted to get rid of it fast! Hmm still don't believe the dealers on the facelift though. No word of it from my sources at Lexus so it might be about a year away atleast, especially since they're working on the LC500, new LS and new CT.
  24. Hi, Ill address the RX300 first. You say its having trouble keeping up with traffic. Are you sure there isn't something wrong with the car itself? I had an RX300 before my current RX and it never had issues overtaking, in fact it was quite peppy. It does 0-60mph in 9s which is actually faster than the NX300h and barely any slower than my wife's IS300h so it just seems very odd that you find it troublesome in traffic. Anyway - to the matter at hand. The RX400h is not permanent 4 wheel drive. Its permanently front wheel drive until it detects slip, at which point the rear motors will start working to ensure it can get out of slippy situations. The front and rear axles are completely disconnected from each other and the rear wheels only start working when there is slip or you're demanding full power from the system. It will get you up a moderate hill with snow on it. My RX450h has the same setup i.e. front and rear are disconnected to each other and Ive had no trouble getting up hills with snow on them. Of course, if you want extra peace of mind, just fit all season tyres such as Michelin Latitude Tour HP or dedicated winter tyres when the time comes. The hybrid battery can be checked by Lexus. They do a hybrid health check to see if its functioning properly. You have to get this done if you have a Lexus warranty. There won't be any issues with short journeys unlike diesel cars. Hope that helped. Anymore questions, feel free to ask.
