RCF beats M4 and Mustang GT
rayaans replied to Chafford1's topic in Lexus RC Owners Club / RC 200t / RC 300h Club
Apart from price, which is hard to ignore isnt it? And I guess its got a lot of heritage behind the stallion on the front grill. -
Rayaan's Guide To Detailing Your Lexus
rayaans replied to rayaans's topic in Lexus Car Care & Detailing
Usually Lexus engine bays are fairly clean due to the masses of black plastic - but I still wouldn't recommend putting a hose near an engine bay - way too much chance of water getting in somewhere. Probably the best bet is to use some dirty towels and APC for the plastic and then rejuvenate with a product of your choice. -
New Rc300h And Rc200t
rayaans replied to para999's topic in Lexus RC Owners Club / RC 200t / RC 300h Club
Yes but you'll find a lot to nit pick with Ford's interior quality on the Mustang after driving the Lexus. Its a decent cabin and has some chunky metal (or metal effect, couldn't really tell) switches. Havent driven one but saw the interior in York when Stratstone had their Red GT out to show off in the middle of Picadilly -
2016 Rx450H
rayaans replied to Bodmeister's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Brand new Broadspeed gives £1.2k off a Premier but I dont know what other dealers are giving as I haven't really bothered asking. Im looking at ex demo's and I think Ill change over in November time when they hit £45-50k or so. Sidcup have got an F-Sport with £4k off as well. -
Lexus Virgin

I agree, they need a 2.0l petrol in their line up and the ingenium one, not the unit from Ford that they are using in the XE. I still can't get over the front end of the XE though. It looks horrendous compared to the rest of the car. -
2016 Rx450H
rayaans replied to Bodmeister's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Id assume they are chancing it mate. Or giving heavy discounts if someone walks in and says Ill give you "xxx" for the car. So from what I can see, the Wolverhampton one has a £4k discount, the bolton F-Sport is £3k and the Belfast F-Sport is about £4k too. It may be because March is nearly here! -

Wolverhampton have a Premier with less than 1k miles on for £54600. £4k discount in a month sounds good -
New Rc300h And Rc200t
rayaans replied to para999's topic in Lexus RC Owners Club / RC 200t / RC 300h Club
Still need to get hold of an RC200T, the RC300h is just average - down to the powertrain lugging around too much weight. Lets not forget the 300h weighs way too much for what it is, its like an SUV. Id be expecting the RC200T to handle better simply because of the 150kg less weight and the MPG doesnt sound too bad but hell, its still cramped compared to the other coupe's. Would be interesting if they made a RC200t 4 door hatchback thing. -
Lexus Virgin

Its not a competitor for the RX though. Its bigger than an Evoque but smaller than the RR Sport. The new RX is similiar size to the RR Sport. The RX has a better quality interior and arguably looks better. Not a fan of the crap position Jaguar tend to put their sat navs in either and I wouldnt really be surprised if it broke down within the first year. Im 6 ft 1 and sitting behind myself is pretty cramped. I can sit in my current RX without any issues and in the new RX with tonnes of space left over. The interior quality isn't great to be honest. Jaguar are still using hollow plastics and poor padding where the arms go. Having sat in the new RX and Volvo XC90, its hard to go for Jaguar's interior compared to them. -
I dont think its the bearings - they usually make a noise when you're going round turns, not in a straight line. I think its an issue confined to the brake or wheels themselves. Id check the rotors and pads to make sure they arent shot, could easily be break wear sensors touching and making that noise. Make sure the nuts are tightened to 76 foot pounds of torque and that the dust cover isnt hitting anything. Ideally id get those brakes changes, they're pretty close to completely shot. Check pads and discs for any sort of asymmetrical wear too.

Interesting Discoveries (good & Bad)
rayaans replied to rayaans's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Could have gone hard I guess. Atleast its not as bad as *cough* BMW. The M135i and the 3 series my colleagues have got keep smearing the glass whenever they roll the windows down. I took a look and the seals are like rock hard! Back on topic - no noise in the IS - its still dead quiet and rattle free. Only done 11k miles but its still 2 years old lol. -
Winter Mpg On Short Journeys
rayaans replied to alanc745's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Seriously!? 50mpg is awesome for the IS300h F-Sport at those speeds - its no diesel!!! 37psi here all around. Ive found taking the air con off AUTO helps alot in terms of fuel economy, no idea why. -

Guys this happened on my RX a while back. Only on the driver's door and I was like WTF is this just me? Turns out it was just me because it was on my side!! Give the seals a good clean and some silicon spray, hopefully the noise should go away as it did with mine. -

Although it says that they were designed for the Lexus RX300 I cant really see anything spectacular about them. They have an E rating for fuel economy and also an E rating for Wet grip and the 71dB noise rating isn't great either. Dont get the continental's, they're sticky tyres, i.e. lots of grip but very poor in terms of wear. A mate had them fitted to his S5 and both front and rear's are in need of a change in 12k miles. Id recommend the Michelin Latitude Tour HP. I have them fitted on my car now as do alot of other members and no complaints about them

Guess you answered your own question. Easy fix though, divorce and cheap shirts -
Painting should be around £400-600 if done properly. Ive noticed that the paint on the rear diffuser doesnt match very well on both, the grey and the white car as I presume its not been blended in around the bumper or the sides?!

Id assume the digital fuel gauge isnt very sensitive when filling up very little fuel. Is there a reason you dont just fill the tank to the brim and leave it be?

Timing belt is shown but it has an asterisk saying additional charges may apply. Depends on the dealer I guess as it isnt a straight "yes you will be charged"
