  1. Id leave the colour of the wheels the same but Id go for something bolder like Orange - seems to be the new F colour!
  2. As Daniel said, register it before the warranty expires. I feel like it may be a battery related issue. Has someone changed the batteries or something?
  3. I think its a bit different in the US simply because they sell so many of the things that they can make less profit per unit but more profit overall due to volume.
  4. Yeah no problems with it. Just make sure you don't try keeping it on for too long as it'll turn off after a few seconds and you'll roll straight back
  5. Although the car may cost £5k out of the factory, then you have to remember the development costs of the car before it was made, transportation costs and import costs before it actually gets to the dealer. Then the dealer has to buy these cars (probably around the £20-25k) mark and VAT gets added to it as well as the dealer PDI costs and profits. Even though Lexus Scotland are giving £5k off a new NX, I bet they're still making atleast £5k profit on them
  6. That probably explains it! Should have gone for something other than an NX then preferably with a squared off boot like a Discovery Sport!
  7. NX200T doesn't suffer from this due to its 6 speed transmission. The IS200T uses the same transmission as the RC-F which is prone to hesitation. The updated version in the GS-F is pretty good though!
  8. And an LSD if it has blue bits on the steering wheel!
  9. Petrol consumption shouldn't be too far away from the RX for the NX200T. Last time I drove it, it did like 25mpg or something on a day to day basis. That was in town so should improve on the motorway. Id be more concerned about things you miss out on with the NX such as the memory seats!! And honestly speaking, the NX is hardly that much smaller than the 3RX anyway. Its narrower but hardly any shorter. You can get better discounts on the 200T as well which should offset higher fuel costs in the 200t although depreciation will inevitably be higher until possibly after the 300h hybrid battery warrantys start running out. The comments about the boot are just odd - I have 3 kids and can get everything into an IS never mind an NX! Im sure the NX200T has more underfloor storage as well compared to the NX300h
  10. OK so the definition of a good car is how fast it goes around a track? In that case the Nissan GTR is theoretically an awesome car. Have you actually driven a GTR? It feels like driving inside a box with wooden flintstone wheels. Going by your definition, the IS300h is automatically better then as its probably faster than the 250 on a track anyway (like I said before, it has huge mid range acceleration and a 50:50 weight distribution). You keep mentioning you like being involved in the driving experience yet you've contradicted yourself simply by the Lexus that you own. In what way is the 2nd Gen IS250 "involving"? Its not at all. All 3rd gen models are more "involving" than the 2nd gen. Again, you're thinking of an IS-F yet the driving experience doesn't really beat the E90 M3 with a manual box so I can't really see what your point is?
  11. TG also thinks the RC-F is crap so you better avoid it if you wan't a V8. They also said the IS-F was rubbish so that pretty much explains it all really. Top speed? Interesting comment. Does it make a difference if top speed is 124mph vs 155mph? Maybe if you're overcompensating for something but in reality it makes no difference. Frankly if all the cars in the UK were limited to 100mph it wouldn't matter as you can't get to those speeds on normal roads without getting pulled over or braking every 2 seconds. Also, 0-62mph doesn't mean anything in the real world, the only place it makes a difference is on a drag strip. A classic example of that is the Autoexpress review between the Porsche Cayenne Hybrid, Lexus RX450h and Volvo XC90 which can be found here: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/lexus/rx/94180/lexus-rx-vs-porsche-cayenne-vs-volvo-xc90 The Porsche has 410hp and 590nm of torque both available lower down in the rev range compared to the 308hp and 335nm (+ the unknown figure from the electric motors) of torque from the RX450h. Porsche 0-60mph = 5.5s RX = 7.8s Wait till you start seeing mid-range figures and you'll see where the Lexus experience of hybrids is - Porsche 30-50mph = 3.0s RX = 2.8s Porsche 50-70mph = 4.6s RX = 3.8s Thats what a CVT gives you, punch in the face mid-range figures which are more realistic of day to day acceleration compared to the obsolete drag strip 0-60mph times. Ive personally had experience of this, my wife's IS300h can scare 3.0l diesels when rolling and the RX goes like a bat out of hell when you floor it at 40mph.
  12. Not really, they all use a similiar de-fogging setup. They aren't that different. And.... the IS doesn't do one side first either.
  13. Id buy an NX450h over the RX450h if it came with the memory seats, HUD and ML. Bit annoying how they don't let you spec it up. Its a more manageable size IMO
  14. Not strictly true, the 300h has a pretty good CVT gearbox as they go. It actually feels better to drive than the 2nd Gen 250 simply because of the handling. And lets not forget the 300h smokes the 250 in real life i.e. mid-range 30-70mph 50-100mph etc etc. anything with a rolling start in other words Ive got to say, the CVT vs Auto box thing is blown way out of proportion, there's not that much difference in real life to be honest. I enjoy driving my RX450h more than my 2nd Gen RX300 with its 5 speed auto box. Its the instant torque, smooth power and in reality, it barely gets near the redline because its too quick to actually go on full throttle because the mid-range urge is very good in hybrids.
  15. If you are wanting an NX give Scotland a call, they'll stick you on their VIP list and give you around £5k off an NX F Sport. They have about 20 in different colors. It'll work out around £35k or something
  16. That's true. Wouldn't be surprised myself if less than half of the 3rd gen IS were actually bought outright so probably doesn't matter how much warranty you get outside of 3 years. It's a vicious cycle, once you get stuck in you end up changing cars every 3 years and don't realise how much money is actually getting lost in interest It's the same as buying cars and leasing them really isn't it? You pay more leasing for what? A better car? Yh right lol
  17. When they say "cost price" its not actually cost price. Its actually "cost price" + £100 + profit + VAT which eventually gets you maybe £1k off an RX atm. For an NX, Lexus Scotland are giving £5k off a new one if you're quick.
  18. Few things that just shouldn't be put on any other car apart from BMW and angel lights are one of them If you're not careful its going to look ricer
  19. Could easily say the same for waitose and M&S though
  20. Im confused about the "foot on the brake pedal" bit. I didnt think it was possible to start the car without having the foot on the brake pedal?
  21. If Im not mistaken, the cloth/pleather is standard but there's very few cars with it actually for sale. It seems most go for the leather option with memory seats etc. An ex-demo RX would always be good. Looking at how much the premier has dropped in 2 months, Id say by November, they'll be around £50k. 1 year old ones will be around £45k I reckon.
  22. Simply because they don't really need to. People are going to keep buying them regardless of whether they have a 3 yr warranty or a 5 year warranty. With the likes of Kia and Toyota, they have to offer more to entice people into the brand as arguably, those segments are more competitive.
  23. Hmm I found the same on my RX with conventional polishes. I can pretty much do a one step after discovering the Sonax. Seems to have good cut but finishes down to the same level as M205. What protection is on the car?
  24. Ive never seen an F-Sport with cloth before. All the ones at the dealer have the leather which is well worth adding. Lexus in the UK atleast have the same grade of leather on all cars in the UK, its definitely quality hide. Worth taking a look at the NX as well. I have my reservations on the drivetrain coming from a 450h but the interior quality is astounding for how much it costs.
  25. Manuals are in the process of being phased out though. I dont think Ferrari even offers it anymore and BMW are going to remove them from the M lineup.
