  1. I practically have to rag the car up the hills - its almost always in the power section when going up. I think shopping journeys dont do too well as the car's being shut down so has to slightly warm up again. Its fine on longer journeys, I even managed 60mpg once lol.
  2. There also appears to be an IS300h F-Sport for £40k which only has 2 doors!! Its a one of a kind special edition I think....... :P
  3. Apparently quite a lot - Its a a slightly darker shade to begin with but it has the same process as the Sonic red, Sonic white (still dont understand why they're calling all the colours the same thing) and Sonic titanium. In other words there is a total of 5 layers including the clear coat. To fill in a stone chip it might not be that noticeable but it should be out soon anyway as the colour has been around since last year on the RC-F
  4. Id assume most people just saw the pic and didnt bother enquiring.
  5. Just check the comparison sites and brokers - its not uncommon for them to give a very low price on the same car to one person and a high price to someone else. No point getting hung up on different companies as they all have a tendency to give out variable prices depending on location, claims etc etc. Give Chris Knott a call, they usually try to beat the price and brokers on general can be quite competitive.
  6. Most changes, especially ride comfort and less aquaplaning will probably due to more tread on the new tyres so not exactly comparable.
  7. So on the Sunday weekly shop the IS appears to do 45mpg which drops straight down to 33mpg when going back up the hill lol. Been getting about 450 miles out of a tank so far.
  8. Looking at the colour (Ultra Blue) of your car, it appears that you have the F-Sport so those wheels are the original wheels. However, the finish on the wheels is not original, Id assume its been kerbed by the previous owner and either the previous owner or the dealer refurbished them but painted them all black.
  9. Looking fineeeee! Hopefully you put something on top of the Autoglym SRP (I think thats the one you mean?!) or you're hard work will need to be repeated in a 3 weeks!
  10. USA seem to have it so we should be getting it soon if not have it already
  11. Supagard is semi decent if you put it on yourself. However, having said that beading doesn't necessarily imply protection. Sealants such as Supagard tend to sheet more and have irregular beads so thats not really the best way to test protection. The problem with the dealers is they rushed it (110% sure about that) therefore you'll not only find swirls in the sun but it won't last anywhere near as long as it should do. It costs like £30, no doubt some will pay £200 for it but its simply not worth it. Its a sealant, you can stick wax on it if you want. If you polish it, it'll remove the supagard but then, it doesn't last more than a month or two anyway due to dealer application. Aqua wax won't remove it and neither will Autoglym wax - the SRP will though.
  12. Those new registrations? or Used as well? Nearly £4k off RC already if you go through Broadspeed!
  13. But then the car was made for the american market who do use their right hand to operate the remote touch interface!
  14. Does seem quite odd that they're already giving £4k off a 3 month old one then?! The NX's were practically the same price as a new one even 6 months down the line!
  15. I think the practicality is an issue in all honesty. You can't really get two people in the back unless they're under 5 ft 6 or something (or if the driver is anything above 5 ft 9). Any news on how many new RX's they've sold? I keep getting told they're in super high demand - not really sure how much of that is actual truth or salesman BS
  16. Pretty reliably cars the IS250's with an auto box. Sticking calipers, corroded exhausts and wheels are the most common complaints. Carbon build up pops up as well so worth looking out for.
  17. Never been too fussed with reversing lights - honestly I feel I could get away with not having them on any car - the rear lights are plenty for me.
  18. Yes I thought so - I fell into that trap when I got my RX in 2012. Put in a Birmingham postcode without the space and ended up somewhere else LMAO! I rarely use the address and town - I just plug in the Postcode now (correctly, I should add!) and it works every time :) My RX doesn't have the same features as the IS in that it gives you that sidebar on the motorway with all the exits which is quite useful IMO. The new RX system is very good BTW - I checked it whilst at the dealer nosing around. Its very quick and the display is pin sharp which actually makes the graphics look decent. The LC is coming with the new system so it will be interesting to see how that is!
  19. I'm sure there's a priority motorway setting as well. Something worth remembering is that standard postcode is 7 digits so would be AB12 3CD. Therefore you would be able to put this in completely without using space. With 6 digit postcodes you have to put a space. So it'll go like this - AB1 SPACE 2CD. That wold explain why the 2 was greyed out if you didn't put a space in
  20. Never had an issue with the nav. Postcode is on 2nd page after selecting destination and there are multiple setting for which route to take I. E short, quickest and most economical. You can even remove roads such as toll roads and motorways All depends on your settings
  21. Lol wealthy women drive Mini's - odd! They usually drive Big SUV's and park them so high up the kerb that people can't get past with a pushchair!
  22. Yeah they're bought by Hire car companies and then rented out. The rented car is then sold to Shaks after some time.
  23. Yeah most of the stock on Shaks are all wedding hire cars or ones driven by 21 year olds for a period of 1 or more months. Thats why their cars usually have high miles on them.
  24. The same is fine. Dodo Juice leather kit works great on all colour leather. Its cracking stuff, will shift pretty much anything. You dont need any conditioner for modern leather which is sealed. It has an artificial coating on top which prevents anything getting into the leather. Cracked leather is caused by the leather drying out due to UV and heat. To moisturise the leather you want to hydrate it from the other side. Its not a problem in the UK as the air is pretty humid anyway but if you have a car without a coating you need to regularly apply conditioners. In modern leather the conditioner is just sitting on top of the coating and attracting dirt and dust.
  25. Looking at the mileage you're doing there's no point getting a diesel. 16 miles at 70mph approximately takes 13 mins. The newer diesels have very strict DPF control. A DPF typically needs 30-40 minutes of driving to clear it up at above 40-50mph. Basically you'll be looking at DPF issues down the line. Also BMW's aren't exactly reliable. The engines don't usually play up but its the electrics that will drive you mad. Real world figures of the GS450h will be 30-40mpg depending on how you drive. I get 35mpg in my RX on the motorway. You won't be getting 70mph in a Prius or CT, last time I drove one, it was about 45-50mpg and at speed that drops quite significantly as the CT is a heavy car with a low power drivetrain so does need revving. You wont regret a GS450h, they're rockets especially mid-range acceleration. It'll take 450hp cars between 30-50mph and 50-70mph all day long simply down to the mid-range acceleration.
