  1. Except you fail to realise that the CT200h is a naturally aspirated 1.8l engine. The other non hybrid cars you mention are using 1.4l turbocharged with cylinder deactivation and all sorts. They arent as smooth as an NA. The UK ones are showing circa 50mpg which is better than a NA 1.8l engine on its own without any hybrid tech would get.
  2. You probably have years of built up grime and oils on the dash making it shiny. Clean it with some diluted all purpose cleaner, should get rid of the glare.
  3. I presume you mean UV blocker? Its not a "tint" in the lay man's term as in "Blacked out"
  4. Never had an issue in both cars to be honest. Its fun in the RX as the V6 makes a good noise. In the IS its slightly more noticeable because of the 4 cylinder but by no means worse than any diesel. Complete contrast to the C220 CDI we had
  5. Its aftermarket. No IS's have a factory tint option.
  6. ECO mode tones down the throttle response. Essentially you spend more time accelerating to get up to speed which consequently reduces your MPG.
  7. Do you have the premium nav? The rear does have door speakers in all IS300h's. You'll probably be missing the subwoofer in the back though if you dont have premium nav which is why it'll sound as it does. Either that or your rear speakers arent working.
  8. Is doesnt have a tint from factory. Whatever is on there is aftermarket.
  9. Collinite 845 is fine for protection. Its one of the few "no BS" products out there For swirls you'll need a pure polish but without machine these arent great. So, by hand, you'll want to be looking for an All in One product which cleans and fills so Autoglym SRP and Britemax AIO Max are the ones to be looking at.
  10. Thats because it is a rep mobile lol......
  11. Im sure I posted on this thread before but anyway - sounds about right. You're not going to get great MPG with very short trips regardless of the car. The "breaking in" period is out of date, these cars dont need a break in period as the engine has been used for atleast 1-2k miles during the Lexus factory testing on each car and the odometer resetted before setting out on its journey to the customer. The problem with short journeys is the engine doesnt warm up so keeps running until it has done
  12. Did you have the brake depressed whilst pressing the button? If you don't have the brake depressed itll go automatically into accessory mode. Also, there might be a good chance the battery in the fob might need changing.
  13. I never understood these - Ive never slowed down for them and also never got any fines. They seem to go off after a few miles anyway... odd
  14. From the youtube videos, it appears the AEM doesn't sound that much different to the Takeda so just go for that one. K&N might be another one to look into as well.
  15. The takeda intake should give you the noise you are looking for on the inside of the car. On the outside its slightly louder than stock but not much at all. Exhausts are really for the exterior sound I guess.
  16. Sounds normal to me. You're not going to get good MPG doing those kind of short trips.
  17. Nope but Ive heard one in Canada whilst on holiday on a IS250 and it was a nice exhaust. Takeda with Magnaflow:
  18. Go to settings and then general. Just take a look at whether you have auto screen change on or off. The car should default to the "Home" page which is a split screen with 2 or 3 pieces of information such as Nav, Music and fuel economy for example. I dont think you can make it default to the Nav page all the time though.
  19. You'll have to check the settings, they should be auto folding on the premier upon locking the car. I think they made the sat nav screen housing thinner as well, looks sleeker IMO.
  20. Wrong section buddy but go for the Michelin Latitude Tour HP. Many RX450h owners here with them (including myself) and they are very good. Good grip, eerily low noise and they are rated Mud and Snow too.
  21. Wheel cleaner and wire wool should see those tips back to new - if not use some Autosol metal polish on them.
  22. No reduction in power with the Takeda intake. They even advertise a power "increase" which is not really true. You won't get a power increase but you might "feel" the car breathing better. They can be had on ebay for circa £260 including postage from the States. You shouldnt get any droning with a good exhaust setup. Magnaflow do a nice exhaust for the IS250 that isn't too loud and doesn't drone at speed.
  23. Hi looking good! Dont believe the hype on the intakes, they dont give any increase in power whatsoever and even if they do give 5hp on a dino, you won't feel it at all. Go for the Takeda intake, it sounds great! As for the ECU, its cracked down, no one has unlocked it so no chance of a remap. The only way to get extra performance is through the Supercharger. I believe Aimgain do a good one for the IS250 but yes, its expensive and you won't find many (if any) second hand. An exhaust setup may be good if you want some sound too - HKS is a good place to start.
  24. Hi Alex, might be worth using ALL true non-plug in hybrid vehicles rather than just the CT200h?
  25. Just say exactly that to them - Whats the point? Say you'll do get it from them if they beat the quote from elsewhere.
