  4. Agree with you on all accounts. Whilst the XE does look nice from the outside, especially in R Sport trim, in Italian red and with the Black pack, the interior was a major disappointment. When I sit in a car in the showroom, the first thing I do is touch and twiddle everything! Few things stood out - the leather was a bit weird, it felt like plastic. I was also not keen on the opening or solidity of the centre armrest which felt rather cheap (akin to something in a £15k Fiesta). The buttons on the steering wheel and centre console didn't have the feel of a £30k+ car. The dashboard was not solid either, particularly the housing above the speedo which moved slightly and the steering wheel itself could be moved if you yanked hard enough. The XF is more of the same story, cheap feeling interior - doesn't stand a chance against something like the GS in terms of solidity. Jaguar skimp out on bits you regularly use and touch - I wouldn't really be surprised if one of the indicator stalks fell off tbh. I also agree about the doors, they don't thud properly. The doors AFAIK are aluminium but then so are the doors on the new RX and they don't sound tinny to me!
  5. Heard the same from my dealer, not selling that well. On the other hand, the US is taking them up VERY well. Also the Blue/Red won't be on the ship as its a unique colour combo. Blue/Black or Blue/grey and you can have one this month. Blue/clove is another unique one too. It was the same when I enquired about an IS300h F-Sport, Red/Red with AVS, Premium Nav, ML and sunroof. They said they would need to put a direct factory order in rather than grab one thats on the ship. To the OP, have you test driven the RC300h? I thought the RC200T was MUCH better and honestly the power wasn't enough IMO with the RC due to its weight. I was directly comparing to my wife's IS300h too. Broadspeed are giving £3329 off RC300h at the moment.
  6. Ive tried a few of the BH waxes. The double speed wax and finis is very easy to use but the Auto balm is a PITA. I just did my wife's IS300h in Meguiars #16. Wax-on, wax-off and its very easy and its very cheap.

    Personally dont rate anything continental. They don't offer anything the others dont and are usually more expensive than other tyres for no real justifiable reason
  10. Yes, the trick in my view (and this is with all waxes) is to use a damp applicator. It helps to spread a very thin layer. I think the issue with the Dark version is not the product itself but the fact that the heat from the panels is considerably more than on a lighter car. I did try Fusso Dark on my white car and it was the same as Light in application and removal.
  11. Pretty good deal there! However Id presume a refurb is more durable than the OE wheels. £80 a wheel seems the norm, even Lexus dealers will charge this to get it done.
  12. I use soft99 Fusso but didn't mention it as it has a more clinical looking - cling film wrapped type effect as its technically a sealant. It says 12 months but lasts about 6-8 months for me. The way I apply is to put it on the car like any wax i.e. thin! Then do another panel and wipe it off the first. That way its not bad at all. I have both but light is easier to use IMO.

    Ive always thought rotating tyres was bad practice. The reason for this is because you'll end up putting good tyres to the front (the tyres with most tread should always be at the rear to avoid oversteer). Also having 2 tyres on 8mm and 2 on 4-5mm is better than having 2 tyres at 3.2mm and 2 at 4-5mm. Im presuming your tyres are 205/55 r16? If so you have a lot of options: Uniroyal Rainsport 3 in 205/55 r16 91V for around £42 + fitting Dunlop Sport Bluresponse in 205/55 r16 91W for £48 + fitting Goodyear EfficientGrip Perofrmance in 205/55 r16 91W £47.50 + fitting You wont really be disappointed with either. The Dunlops and Goodyears and quieter than the Uniroyals with a better fuel efficiency rating. Depends on your budget and what you're after
  15. Like most things, there's always an exception to the general rule. Having said that, if you are driving down the dual carriageway and get passed by a nutter at great speed, they'll more often than not be driving something with a German badge on it (talking about Luxury cars here).

  18. Its OK but not the easiest to use. If you're looking at AF Desire, I'd take a good look at Angelwax Desirable - " Desirable, from Angelwax, was born in our laboratory and started life as a very small 20 pot production run. This beautifully crafted detailing wax was designed to be a limited edition run which sadly, never materialised" You can guess the reason behind why it never materialised! The story is that Angelwax made 20 limited edition pots of Desire for Autofinesse. Autofinesse thought that the wax was very good so certain people at AF decided to get it remade and sell at a higher price (pretty much double). There were a few changes but not much to really have much of an effect on looks or durability. Angelwax then released the original formula which is known as Desirable. I have to say though, I wasn't impressed with the price and performance of AF Desire, it wasn't worth the money as it didn't provide "mind-boggling" looks. Hence why the Angelwax is a better option. What kind of wax are you after? Looks or durability? I might be able to provide you with more options based on that.
  19. My views on brand image are probably quite stereotypical but.... I spend a lot of time on roads (albeit short journeys but mostly in traffic) and it appears that the stereotypical views of brands are not that stereotypical! Ive seen it with my own eyes and here is what I've seen and think: Audi - The older ones are driven by sensible people. The newer ones seem to be driven by idiots although there are exceptions. The A3 and A5 seem to seduce idiots at that. Also, with RS vehicles, I better pull out of the third lane within 1/100th of a millisecond or he's going to undertake me. BMW - This is the opposite - older ones seem to be driven by idiots and newer ones tend to attract reasonable drivers. Exception is probably the new 3 series. Newer 5 series drivers are pretty good. Id assume all the ones who had older BMW's went to new Audi's! Jaguar - Havent seen any young people drive these whatsoever, even the XE. Saw a lad in an F-type but turned out it was hired for a wedding. The classic old mans brand! Volvo - Unnoticeable and uninteresting bar the new XC90. Mercedes - I dont mind a good Merc and the drivers are OK. Of course, exceptions always apply especially with the C63 being driven by yobs with no regard for the road. Lexus - got to admit, Ive never seen a Lexus driver drive badly which is saying something! Individualism, exclusivity and someone who enjoys a relaxing drive springs to mind
  20. But no one actually wants a Vauxhall though ha! We could easily say - "Lexus, you need to sort it out and give us an 8 year warranty that beats Kia". The thing with those cars is that they have to offer these kind of things to seduce buyers into buying the car in the first place. You can pick up decent luxury cars for the same price as a £15k Corsa - they may have less tech but who cares - thats why they have to offer it. BTW, by 2020 all Lexus models are coming with the Safety System + as standard. Expect a refreshed IS with it as Standard also :)
  21. The thing with alignment is it can be done at any time. So you might just want to get the tyres put on and then see if there are any problems with the alignment. If not then you may as well leave as it is.
  22. Yes I assume you can officially reject the car. Just go to the dealer with a typed letter, ask for the manager, give him the keys and the letter. Let him read it right there and just walk out..... Id be surprised if he lets you get to the door.
  23. Decent products but their waxes are quite pricey and hence I used samples but wasnt hugely impressed in terms of performance:price ratio. Which one are you looking at in particular?
  24. Oh dear! I was looking on camskill using my IS300h F-Sport fitment as I thought they'd be the same. Turns out the IS300h uses 255/35 r18 on the rear instead! There's limited options for 255/40 as its an uncommon size but the Hankook Ventus S1 Evo2 K117 look decent in that size
  25. About 5-10l is kept in reserve just in case so you only have about 35-40L that it actually measures in the tank. Its got this built in error to reduce the chance of running out of fuel completely. Therefore it'll drop quicker than a 100l tank at the same MPG. Just use the cruising range instead
