  1. http://d3rvezpmgp265q.cloudfront.net/lexusone/lexgben/Terms-and-Conditions-Lexus-Extended-Warranty-for-Vehicle_tcm-3066-458631.pdf?_ga=1.99612062.1492263200.1461927560 There you go. "Car entertainment" isn't on the excluded list in the terms and conditions so you can argue that you've been mis-sold the warranty if they say anything to that
  2. Yes it does go to Lexus approved repairers. Its usually a bodyshop in their company so for Hedge End, itll be a Snows Group bodyshop whereas with Guildford it would be Inchcape bodyshop. However Lexus approved repairers have probably done the cars before and know what to do in terms of taking doors off etc by heart rather than relying on diagrams etc. Turns out that most Lexus approved repairers aren't approved by the insurers (I wonder why???!) and most likely its because Lexus approved repairers prefer just putting new parts on instead of fixing dents. You're right about the £250 excess, the other party will have to pay for it (got confused because I paid the £250 for the IS but my wife pranged it herself so it was our fault anyway) You will be able to get a loan car but be aware that this will push up the quote by £100 a day atleast. If the other insurance company looks at the figures and thinks, "nah its not worth it", they'll write off the car as Cat D
  3. Temperature does seem to have gone down in the last week or so which might explain the drop. Stop and start journeys, temperature, tyre pressures, passengers/weight in the car, use of stereo, keeping windows open/closed and where you are driving can all make a difference to the MPG.
  4. Urm they do supply a bag for dirty wheels........ Mine is in the boot cover, its a plastic sheet that just goes over the whole wheel. Isn't this what breakdown cover is for? Used mine for puncture ages ago because I couldnt be bothered getting on my hands and knees in a suit and they were only 15 mins away :P
  5. Depends on who you let do the work. If you go through a Lexus dealer by paying the excess of around £250, they'll replace the doors and damaged bits and paint the doors along with blending in to the front fender, rear fender and pretty much that whole side. They'd have that done in about a week. If you go through your insurers choice of garage, chances are you can expect a poor repair and they'll be popping those dents out instead of getting a new door, smoothening it (or trying their best to) and painting just that section.
  6. Its just where the SD card goes and all cars with Mark Levinson have this already. You can see the brushed metal on pre-facelift models behind the gear stick and this is only on cars with ML: Basically Lexus have used the same brushed metal but put more in the car and replaced the plastic centre console with it. It would have been good to replace the silver trim pieces on the doors too IMO.
  7. Its certainly covered as it counts under "electrics". It doesn't exclude stereo or speakers at all
  8. Yes its written in the press release that the centre console is brushed metal. Also has anyone zoomed in on the button around the drive mode selector. Its just above the SNOW mode and I can't figure out what it is!
  9. WHAT YOU ARE COVERED FOR Engine components Clutch Gearbox and manual transmission Automatic transmission Four wheel drive transmission Rear axle Propshaft Suspension Braking system Turbocharger Fuel system Diesel injection systems Electronic ignition Electrics Oil leaks Cooling system Steering Air conditioning Casings WHAT YOU ARE NOT COVERED FOR Serviceable items Drive belt adjustments Brake and clutch adjustments and replacements due to wear Glass replacements due to breakages or impact Lights, bulbs and headlight adjustments Window and door lock adjustments Paintwork and bodywork Battery (HV battery on Hybrids is covered) Interior trim Corrosion to the exhaust Road wheels Pulled off Lexus UK website. Electrics are covered and so is glass as long as its not broken. Id take the car back and show them whats written on the Lexus UK website.
  10. I'd see what Autoexpress say on this firstly. Lexus definitely don't want that sort of negative press. Would also be a good idea to let Lexus UK know you've contacted AE too If that fails, trading standards might help And if that fails, typed letter in a blank envelope including car keys inside the envelope rejecting the car (obv make sure you have alternate transport ready) and be prepared to leave the car there
  11. You might want to print that out or send Lexus UK a link to it. Like I said you can reject the car and its the dealer who has to accept/reject, not Lexus UK. If the dealer rejects then the only option is to get solicitors involved
  12. Hmm if you can get hold off some LS F-Sport ones, I bet they slide right into the IS seats in all honesty! Im sure some leather guy will know how to get it on for you
  13. I understand that Ganzoom had a problem with the shifter becoming loose. Might be worth giving him a PM or waiting for him to pop up :)
  14. It does seem like an isolated issue as I drove an RC200t the other week and it had no abnormal wind noise or excess noise in the cabin. I actually asked my dealer if they had heard of it before and they said that they've sold very few RC's in general but nobody has complained about anything on them yet bar the infotainment crashing once or twice. You can still reject the car - up to 6 months after purchasing. It doesn't have to be a safety issue. You can argue that its "not fit for purpose". http://www.resolver.co.uk/companies/lexus-complaints Try the above link - it helps you through the process. It clearly says on one page that "If you have given the garage every opportunity to fix the car and they have been unable to do so, the car can be rejected under the Sale of Goods Act as it was clearly unfit for purpose" Another option is to contact Autoexpress Magazine. They'd love an article on Lexus problems LOL.
  15. The updates are quite expensive at £150 each!
  16. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-4th-gen-2007-present/678003-oem-air-suspension-ride-height-links-below-car-adjustable.html The above thread might be useful Granted its from another forum but it has great info on how to adjust the ride height on the LS460
  17. Some companies offer extra money if you dont opt for the company car and you can basically choose what you want. Its usually the same amount as what the company would have leased the cars they offered as company car to you. So for example, if they offer you cars which are £300 per month, you can choose from their list, or you get roughly that amount in cash and get your own car for £350 a month so essentially you're only paying £50 per month.
  18. Thats not true, even company car buyers can choose what cars they can have from a selection. If they don't like them, they can take a pay increase instead....... well Kelloggs does that anyway and the sales managers are running around in £70k cars.
  19. Agreed, petrol isn't too much of an issue for me anyway even though I drive 10k miles a year. Id rather have a big V8. There's going to be a big push for V6's and V8's once the new VED comes out as it doesn't really take CO2 into account
  20. The E is infinitely better than a C class IMO. However, it is on the larger side and you should really be looking at the GS too if you're considering the Merc E220. The Merc will get the better MPG on motorway runs, not 73mpg mind but you should get 50-60mpg. Definitely consider a GS300h as well, it has some toys which might be useful if you're doing long runs such as the adaptive cruise control as standard (makes motorway journeys so nice!) The only problem with the Merc is the endless list of options, Lexus usually comes with a lot of kit as standard which is extra on the E class including the adaptive cruise control. Might be worth checking Broadspeed out as well, they're giving HUGE discounts off both IS and GS
  21. I can't remember whether my RX had them on both sides or just the driver side. Both my current RX450H and IS300H have them on both sides
  22. The round thing should be fixed in the car. Id assume your car didn't have the floor mat safety clip recall done as they replaced with the new clip
  23. My dealer said only certain cars are built to order such as unusual colour combinations. Most are "in stock" vehicles which are already on the ship to Europe
  24. The model S isn't technically a saloon though. It has a hatchback opening - its more of a elongated coupe
  25. There's not enough demand in the UK for an IS350, no one would buy one due to the V6, tax and running costs. With hybrids, Lexus have always used a name which suggests what kind of power it is putting out, for example 300h = 220 horsepower i.e naturally aspirated 3.0l V6 power, 450h = 308hp = 4.5l naturally aspirated 4.5l before the times of direct injection etc. The 200t is actually very quick, you'd be stupid to go for a 350 over it especially as the cost would be much much higher for a 350.
