Just to clear up some confusion here! Dash and plastic - the Armorall semi matt finish is fine to use. Leather - I presume you have cream leather. By all means give Autoglym Leather cleaner a go but its not great at getting any serious dirt out. If you struggle, buy a dodo juice leather kit and a leather brush. Itll get rid of pretty much everything. Of course, make sure you use clean microfiber cloths to ensure you're not just distributing dirt to other areas of the seat Carpets - Ideally you want a wet/dry vacuum for this and a stiff brush. Use a good carpet cleaner NOT the conventional household carpet cleaners like vanish etc. You want one with no bleach in it! Vanish and other household stain removes have bleach which will mask the stain and may also change the colour of your carpet over time! I use the 1001 3-in-1 Machine carpet shampoo from Wilco by hand and a stiff brush + water. Then just suck up all the water and dirt with the vac. If you don't have a vac, you're not going to remove much. Carpet cleaners dont magically dissolve dirt/mud etc so its just going to stay inside the carpet unless you have something to remove them with. Another option is to use plenty of lint-free towels. Headliner - all purpose cleaner and water. You'll need to remove the excess water with towels otherwise, like carpets, you won't actually remove anything. Also, be careful with the headliner, its stuck on with glue so you don't want to expose it to too strong a dilution of APC. If you get the time, take a look at the following thread:

Yes its 255/40 r18 for the rear on the 2nd Gen IS250 However, Lexus got it wrong as the rear profile is visibly bigger than the front profiles. The trick is to drop the rears to 255/35 r18 to get a uniform look. -
Yep thats pretty old news It'll be out after the new CT comes out. The new CT should be coming out early 2017 so expect late 2017 release for the UX.

Great cars the RX300! I can still remember mine which I had for 8 years! Whats the problem with the interior? Is it smelly or dirty? (or both?!)

Looking to buy an IS-F
rayaans replied to Tom24's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Warranty is £895 for 2 years I believe. What stopped you from going for the newer model? -
The 80k service is just a normal full service. It doesn't have anything else I dont think. Timing chain doesnt need maintenance. I believe the 100k service is slightly more expensive than a full service but not as much as the 60k one which would have been done anyway. It depends on how long you want to keep the car. After 3 years you won't be able to get Lexus warranty due to Nissan service history.

As per your questions: 1) Yes it does have a spare wheel. It is located in the boot under the carpet. 2) 450h doesn't have a cambelt, its chain driven I believe so you dont need to replace it. 3) USB port should be in the centre armrest 4) Non lexus dealer warranty probably not worth it in all honesty. Get the Lexus one, its very comprehensive and you get 2 years Lexus roadside too which is £125 per year if you get it separate. Honestly you need to go back and test drive the vehicle without Eco mode on. It completely ruins the car, no idea why people use it TBH. Its downright dangerous on junctions. Take it out of ECO and its not slow - trust me, the thing can outrun a Porsche Cayenne Hybrid in mid range acceleration.

complaint against lexus

Time to resort to kamikaze mode. Envelope with keys inside and reject. Dealership can refuse but I doubt they'd want the hassle of that. -
Should look great when its done. The spoiler is something new - hats off to you! Maybe its just me but the ride height does look a bit too low. Also have you got 3 people to sit in the back to ensure no rubbing?
-
I think it only stiffens the suspension very slightly which may or may not be noticeable depending on the road you are on. I guess if the road is smooth and you're at low speed it wont make a huge difference. On the motorway and on B roads, you might notice it a bit more. However, having said that, the Sport mode is probably more dedicated towards increasing throttle response and sharpening the steering rather than making the car really stiff.

Something Ive noticed with all magazines to be honest. The NX is actually quicker and quieter theres no doubt about it but because Jaguar is a british brand, it will automatically get an extra star than it should do. If you sit in an NX and then sit in an F-pace, you'll notice the inferior quality materials in the F-Pace too. Its the same as an XE in there, which is essentially the same as an IS whereas the NX is more GS in terms of build quality. A Jag F-pace will hit 50k quite easily too whereas the NX constraints itself to £44k even on the Premier 300h. Its almost like its going against the RX which has 1) a hugely better interior 2) more space 3) is pretty much the same price spec for spec and 5) goes faster than a Porsche Cayenne Hybrid from 30-70mph and 50-70mph. Not to mention the RX is quieter and has a better ride. ODD!

Wheels

The 18 x 8 et40 wheels will fit and stick out by 5mm. Ideally you want 225/40 r18 on the front to keep the rolling diameter similiar. You will see a 2mm ride height gain but hardly noticeable On the rear you'd want 245/40 r18. The above only works if your current wheels are 8J front and rear with the rear only having a wider tyre. -
Was it in Eco mode or something? Nothing like 3s on mine. The Eco mode really dulls down throttle response and there's no significant benefit in fuel economy. You wouldn't be saying it had a delay in throttle response in Sport mode as I feel sometimes its "too" responsive, reacting to the smallest of throttle inputs.

Looking to buy an IS-F

And arguably a better colour IMO! If the Grey one has a Lexus Extended Warranty on it, it costs £25 to transfer to the new owner. You will also get roadside assistance for the remainder of the warranty as well. And of course, it definitely has a full Lexus Service History if it has the warranty on it. -
Oh dear! Not nice at all. Where did you park it?

I believe the 2011 is the one you want to go for as it seems to be a facelift model with LSD (blue portion on steering wheel) and it will have the better suspension too. Dont be worried about getting it as long as it has a FLSH, just get a Lexus extended warranty put on it and you should be fine. -
Generally the car has to have less than 140k miles on it and be less than 10 years old to qualify for the Lexus extended warranty so you should have no issues getting a warranty put on it by a Lexus dealer. These cars are bulletproof and Ive not heard of any issues with the hybrid system on the 450h's so far. Mine is currently on 40k and hasnt had any problems. The LED headlights are awesome but I dont think you would be disappointed with the HID headlights. Of course, if you get an SE-L and have a Lexus extended warranty put on, it will cover the air suspension so you could do that? You can PM me with the cars you are interested in. Ill take a look and see if I can spot anything wrong with them :)

Hey Mike, Firstly, which wax are you using currently? The reason I ask is just for comparison really. Fundamentally, the durability depends on a few factors. For example, a clean car with no contamination on it will give you greater durability. Therefore clay barring is something which needs to be done if you haven't done it already. It essentially removes contaminants from the surface which makes the paint smooth and lets wax adhere to it better. Whether the wax has a durability of a few weeks or a few months is entirely dependent on what type of wax it is. Show waxes i.e. maximum bling waxes will inevitably have poor durability e.g. Soft99 Authentic Premium. Other waxes are more dedicated and last a few months such as Collinite 476s and are for optimum durability Then you get into the realm of synthetic sealants such as FK1000P and Soft99 Fusso. Ideally, you want to keep a show wax for summer and a sealant for winter. Soft99 is my choice. Its pretty much exactly the same as FK1000p but has tighter beading and lasts a little bit longer.

Looking to buy an IS-F

In terms of service history make sure they have ALL been done - i.e at every 10k. Some cars seem to have service histories which are hit or miss with once car I recently saw having done 16k miles between its services. Not really any big jobs to do as they are as reliable as you can get. Of course, the 60k and 100k mileages are the most expensive ones so if you're buying one with mileages around that figure, make sure you factor in the cost if its not been done. Running costs aren't too bad for what it is, 30mpg on the motorway and about 15-18 in town dependent on driving. -
SE-L has the air suspension and more gadgets but the air suspension costs big money if it goes wrong. Id stick with the SE-I to avoid the potential air suspension issue. Just test drive it like you would any car, there's no major issues on these whatsoever but usually if something seems obviously wrong or casts doubt, then most likely it isn't right. Any link for the car you are going to see?

vandalism to car

Dashcams aren't great for people scratching your car. Very unlikely that the police will do anything unless the persons face is visible. It worked for an Aston Martin owner but that was £9k worth of damage on that car and only after it had spent a fair amount of time over facebook. Police don't bother with £100-200 issues anymore.
