  1. Yep, Amanda is awesome - changed all 4 of my tyres for £50 inc VAT and my MOT for £27!! Cheaper than the independents ha! She wasnt in when I went to renew my service plan and ended up getting the fixed generic quote so Ill see if she can get me a discount on it lol.
  2. Lexus Leeds is rubbish now - they were good when they were Benfield. They've removed all the old staff and added their poor staff. Sent them an email, didnt reply. Phoned up and said someone will call me back - nothing. You're better off going to Bradford TBH
  3. Theyll give you a bottle of wine too I presume
  4. I was referring to the ride quality of the SE on normal, broken roads in town. It is very good due to smaller wheels, greater tyre profile and non stiffened suspension However, the handling is not as good because of the above and the limits of grip are reached quicker due to the smaller tyres.
  5. You can add an intake but all that gets you is more sound and really, thats not something you want on the IS200t anyway as it doesn't sound particularly great compared to the V6. You can also add an exhaust but again, more sound. Essentially you wont get anymore power out of the car unless someone cracks the ECU on the IS200t and pumps it up to around 300hp. The IS250 wont see any significant gains if it does get cracked due to being an NA engine
  6. Yes a GS is bigger in the rear seat compared to the IS 3rd Gen - oddly however, the GS has less headroom up front and less leg room up front too but the rear bench is bigger in all directions
  7. Hmm I find the IS F-Sport to ride very well - not harsh at all and smoother than my previous Merc with "comfort" suspension But to answer your question - the SE is very smooth - sublime in fact due to its smaller wheels, bigger tyre profiles and more compliant suspension.
  8. The IS200t is the better option, however, you won't get the "speeding up" sensation in them down to how quiet they are. You can't do mods on these cars, the ECU is under lockdown. No one has cracked the IS200t one yet.
  9. I bought my 5l tub for £28! Different scents too. The leather oak is so woody lol http://car-chem.com/store/car-care-exterior/car-wash-shampoos/luxury-car-shampoo-concentrate-5ltr
  10. IS250 is a V6 and makes a better noise. Its also slower by a margin. Needs to be revved to get the most from it whereas the 200t doesnt. You'll struggle to get a 200t for 22k whereas you could find an IS250 for that much easily. The 200t only came out this year and therefore you'd get a basic model for around £24k. No issues with these cars, they are bulletproof. Id strongly suggest you test drive the IS300h as well, its odd to dismiss it just because its a hybrid.
  11. Depends on how skilled you are with sandpaper. Ideally you want to fill the stone chips in in thin layers and build up. Then stick the clearcoat on top and wet sand it down. Then final polish to remove the hazing.
  12. I wouldnt get too hung up on shampoos - the best one ive come across in terms of performance to price ratio is Carchem 1900:1 Luxury shampoo. Again, with waxes, people can get carried away and spend a lot of money - most of the time the price is a red herring - plenty of cheap-ish waxes out there which can outperform a £100 wax - things like Harly Wax which I finally tried the other day is unreal for its price point in terms of look - throttling a lot of expensive show waxes. Then you have durability waxes like FK1000p and Fusso which are very well priced.
  13. Depends on what figures you've been given TBH - just work out which one is cheaper. Some companies are cheeky and play about with the interest i.e. more interest on a 2 yr PCP than a 3 year PCP so overall it costs you the same. Ive never had a PCP before, its always worked out 5-10k more expensive for me As for the seats - the picture I attached is probably the best representation of the colour on there. The BMW 3 series coral red seats are genuinely very bright on the other hand.
  14. Here are some specs for comparison. Ive put the ones you are interested in in bold text - 2nd Gen IS Front headroom - 37.2 inches Front legroom - 43.9 inches Front hip room - 54.1 inches Front shoulder room - 54.4 inches Rear headroom - 36.7 inches Rear legroom - 30.6 inches Rear hip room - 53.7 inches Rear shoulder room - 52.7 inches 3rd Gen IS Front headroom - 38.2 inches Front legroom - 44.8 inches Front hip room - 54.3 inches Front shoulder room - 55.9 inches Rear headroom - 36.9 inches Rear legroom - 32.2 inches Rear hip room - 54.0 inches Rear shoulder room - 53.4 inches As you can see from the above figures - rear legroom is greater in the 3rd Gen by 1.6 inches and headroom in the back by 0.2 inches. Front headroom and legroom is increased too. As for the service plan - I believe that Lexus UK have forced UK dealers to offer fixed price servicing (or, are in the process of making everyone follow their fixed price servicing scheme) This is what is quoted on their website : Lexus Service Pricing covers the four main services that are required on every Lexus during the course of its life. Each service price includes the required labour, parts and VAT for that given service. And with transparency in mind you will pay exactly the same price at any participating Lexus Centre, providing absolute certainty of a competitive price, but without the hassle of having to shop around. Therefore, expect to pay £245 for a minor and £445 for a major. The benefit of the service plan however is that some now offer free puncture repairs, 10% off parts and accessories, free courtesy car and 1 full valet each year FOC.
  15. Doesnt look as bright as that - it came out really red for some reason. Better representation:
  16. Generally speaking any sensor should do - toyota should do it too I reckon
  17. Ive seen quite a few sonic titanium Lexus vehicles around here - the NX and IS particularly although they seem to be exclusively be in Luxury spec! Didnt like the colour at all - blended in with the grey clouds almost - admittedly they were almost always seen in the rain but then its like that 95% of the time! Still prefer the white:
  18. I believe the IS-F has negative camber on the rear wheels and therefore yes, it is completely normal to be having inner tyre wear on the rears. Not sure on the front though
  19. that TNGA unit will be a while off yet. It's not coming anytime soon to Lexus anyway. I believe DJP had the sonic titanium/red f sport. Personally I thought it looked good until I saw it on the road. Just blended in with the grey tones of the world so ended up going for white. The white/blue/red look best. I saw one in fuji red and it's a stunning thing in that colour
  20. Nah thats not happening - they'd have to make a whole new car to stick it on the TNGA platform. AFAIK only the LS, LC and 2017 CT are going to be on the TNGA platform. For the IS itll be another 3 years atleast to get onto the platform, possibly for the 4IS
  21. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-RX300-350-400h-Rear-Bumper-protector-/231939774199?fits=Car+Make%3ALexus|Model%3ARX&hash=item3600b016f7:m:m5LAaSeEmXJtX7SEt1eQQyw Here you go - this one will fit.
  22. Id hold on for the facelift TBH - although you'll get a big discount at this stage - circa £5k on a new IS300h, it'll drop value when the new one comes out. Like Colin said, Lexus UK dont have a release date as they dont know. They won't get rid of the facelift IS as its one of their volume sellers in the UK. Biggest reasons to go for the facelift F-Sport are the standard LED headlights which also have a DRL in them too along with the swoosh, LED lights inside, bigger nav screen and of course, the excellent safety system+ which will be standard across the range! Simply worth buying it for the safety system IMO
  23. It appears they are all doing fixed price services with no discounts anymore! Really annoying - might get gold Membership!
  24. Wont fit, bumpers have slightly different curvature. You'd struggle to find an aluminium one as they arent that great - they scratch too much. Id get the plastic one TBH.
  25. Plastidip is fairly resilient. It comes in a can like a spray paint and it dries to leave a peelable film I believe it can handle serious heat - after all, it gets put on wheels and someone did a test with a heatgun and it handled up to 300 degrees
