  1. Ouch, you'll have to get them to use a torque wrench next time! Overtightening the nuts isn't great really!
  2. Oh yeah! Havent used it for my son's 06 Polo that I got from auction yet *touch wood* lol
  3. Always useful for a puncture though! or if someone decides to vandalise your car and take the wheels or something!
  4. It might need drilling out if the head is turning but its not coming out. Has someone been using a pneumatic air gun to tighten the nuts instead of a torque wrench?
  5. Yes you wont get the split screen - I was just referring to the blue colour on the smaller side of that big screen.
  6. Never laughed so hard at an ad before! You never know whats been going on in that car - next thing you know, youve bought it, been flashed to the side by a copper and theres a stash of marijuana in a hidden compartment!
  7. Might be due a trip to the dealer and a software update? These things are known to come out of the factory with 1 year old software on them and since, about 2-3 have come out.
  8. A sat nav is supposed to get you from point A to point B. Works perfectly TBH, never find myself anywhere where I wasnt supposed to be. Just fiddle with the settings - make sure you dont have it on Eco route, and turn everything off apart from Motorways. Fiddle around with Auto zoom etc depending on your likes and change the view and voila!
  9. I realise its a different vehicle but the new software would all follow the same colour scheme. For example, my RX is on 2012 factory software and it still has the dark blue background. Its possible that the software is new for the RX400h, but not "new new, if that makes sense. There is no huge difference in characteristics of the 2nd Gen RX in the UK. Much like how there is no huge difference in ride quality between the IS300h and an IS200t, or an RX450h and an RX200t, or a GS300h and a GS450h.
  10. a) The map itself may be less than 6 months old but I doubt the software is - otherwise it'd be running on the newer systems which have full postcode entry and everything is unlocked. To confirm this is the colour of the background dark blue like the colour below? B) You may have driven both but Ive owned both for a while. There is not a huge difference in the ride between the 2nd Gen RX300 and RX400h. In fact, the RX400h actually rides/handles worse due to increased weight. There were no suspension changes between the 2nd gen RX300 and RX400h and therefore any changes are simply down to the increased battery weight etc.
  11. Generally you should know the speed limit of the road anyway as it is. If its something out of the ordinary i.e. a 30mph dual carriageway, then it'll be clearly signed.
  12. An update - issue is now deemed FIXED. See how quick the US are? lol. Owners just have to visit their dealer and they'll sort it out It was down to some weird weather and traffic notifications which the system didnt know how to process.
  13. The car is nearly a decade old........ And lets not forget the 400h was actually just a new engine in a 2003 RX300 body!
  14. They do look silly - saw them on a car in black and they stood out like a sore thumb Depends on whether the wheels are the factory colour in the first place! If you bought the car used, very unlikely that they are which essentially means its easier to get them matched.
  15. If you can only put 4/5 digits its probably better inputting the street instead - it'll be more accurate
  16. Yes been posted on the forum already "sat nav bricked" something along the lines of that
  17. Is there a postcode input on the 2nd screen? The new models all have a 7 digit postcode entry, not sure if the RX400h has this but its on the 2nd screen for the new models and therefore might be a place to look for the 400h as well? Also 6 digit or 7 digit postcode you were trying to enter?
  18. Its not something you need to worry about. Enform is affected only. Therefore, European cars wont be affected as we dont have Enform and we dont get updates over the air as well. Generally the US has better customer support than the UK and im sure their issues are sorted out much quicker than ours are
  19. Generally just dont go near the kerb. Dont go up or down unless you're going at an angle to the kerb and you shouldnt kerb them.
  20. OK so that key will use a CR2032 battery Be careful - there's 2 types of keys which look like this! Theres the one above which you can use the key to pull apart and another one which slides off! If you have a partition on the back by the Lexus logo its a slide off type. Otherwise its one that you use the key on. Check the owners manual - its shown in there
  21. No they're not - you need the right tools. Get yourself a cheap watchmakers screwdriver set. If its one of the newer keyless entry keys, its a CR2032
  22. I believe Mintex, Pagid etc are all from the same company anyway - TMD Friction Pagid is generally well regarded and do OEM for a lot of vehicles. But Brembo would be my go to. You could always put a big brake kit on if you're not happy with the pads after a while.
  23. What kind of key is it? The batteries are usually very easy to do - no coding or anything like that required, just plug and play. If its like the one above, most likely its a CR1616 battery 3V but best to open it up and make sure
  24. The Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance are brilliant tyres - had them on the Merc and no problems - they will run 25-30k miles. They did on my previous Merc anyway. Budget tyres tend to have a lot of issues like this - Id just stay away from them really.
