  1. Wider tyres hence masses of grip but noisier. All depends on tyres of course as well though. The F Sport can hold crazy speeds on the bends though. Went round one at 60mph and it was totally unbothered. Probably why my MPG never gets over 40mpg lol
  2. Not hard at all. A cracked bumper just needs heat, moulding and paint. They don't care if the work is off, they just look at it from a financial view I had my rear bumper on my previous RX done for £120.
  3. I think the idea is that normal with AVS is supposed to be softer than a normal F Sport And Sport + is supposed to be stiffer than a normal F sport. Not many people have noticed that though.
  4. You can check the software version. Can't remember exactly how but you can do it in the car anyway
  5. Agreed but that's the basic stuff they give to the salesmen. It's essentially sales BS, especially b. It doesn't actually make much difference to the car and certainly doesn't make it "more stable or comfortable", at least not noticeably so
  6. Its nothing to do with the standard of the car - its to do with the rear brake pads not getting much use and always having some kind of rust layer on them especially if parked outside Mine is garaged and doesnt do it, unless its parked outside and its rained that is! A few hard braking maneouvres sorts it out in no time, and I mean foot to the floor kind of braking from 30 to 0mph.
  7. But then my IS has low profile tyres as well so its the suspension setup really.
  8. Worth remembering that some tyres on ebay are repaired when they shouldnt be repaired and some are "re trimmed" i.e. shaved to make them look new - not the most honest of places to get tyres from really.
  9. I suspect you're going on the wrong section. You have to go on the REPAIR tab and then look for ECU SOFTWARE UPDATES, 2nd to bottom in the right column
  10. We dont have inner edge wear on the front tyres. I took a look at the camber up front and it appears to be a positive camber so if anything, it should wear on the outer side up front but no evidence of this so far after 12k miles. Having said that, the rears on the 300h's are negative camber and quite heavy too so we'll get some rear inner wear but its non adjustable I believe
  11. Thats sales BS. Essentially - keep it in normal or sport and the suspension stays the same. If you stick it in SPORT + its supposed to get harder but on the road you cant really feel it but in my somewhat limited experience, Sport + seems to affect expansion joints more where it thumps. I believe its because expansion joints are quite sudden
  12. The ones we've had have always been on 17". Dont really see why they needed to have it that stiff tbh.
  13. Cant see the link - appears it been taken down or ended
  14. Cant see why not - worth checking the resolution though to be sure but most likely its just plug and play. Whats the problem with the 400h one?
  15. Agreed the ride is shocking on the CT and TBH dont really know how they managed to get it that stiff. This is coming from someone who has an RX F-Sport and an IS F-Sport, both being noticeably smoother than the CT and the IS being even smoother than my RX is. Dont know if its the short wheelbase or what! We were originally thinking of getting a CT due to the smaller size but even the Advance model we had as a loaner was very hard on the road. If they can sort the ride out and make it up to date with updated L-Finesse styling, the IS will probably get traded in for one.
  16. My RX ones dont groan whatsoever whereas the IS ones groan but only at low speeds i.e. slow traffic etc. They also dust like mad compared to the RX ones so a change in pads might do it - although looking at the service book - they dont go through pads very quickly!
  17. Generally if they are even right across, its not an alignment issue. 46psi is ridiculously high - should be at around 36-38psi I reckon. However, continental tyres are notorious for poor wear. Personally haven't had a hankook tyre - I usually go for Michelin, Dunlop or Goodyear and no problems with any of them whatsoever. Worth remembering that 10 years ago, Hankook was a "budget" brand so no idea how they became a Premium brand - take that how you will lol
  18. Its only really for height restricted garages I reckon. The beep has saved my son a few times from wacking his head on it - hes at a height half way between the bumper and the top of the car which doesn't help.
  19. Its worth checking the owners manual - theres a section which says "Customization" or something along the lines of that. If it can be done, itll be in there but most likely its a dealer thing only compared to the ones you can do yourself.
  20. The NX doesn't get the variable steering rack though so the steering wheel just get stiffer, it wont get any quicker.
  21. Its normal - usually because they dont get used as much due to hybrid regen doing most of the work
  22. Yes the Sport + mode is only present if you have AVS!
  23. He also managed to get something like 6.4s in an RX :/ weird
  24. Yep I can do - Ive just realised that I dont have any USB sticks! Oh my days how the "cloud" has changed us!! Ive ordered one, should come in a few days and ill have a go to see what happens.
  25. Ah simple enough. Ill give it a go - hopefully wont screw anything up
