RX450 19" wheels
rayaans replied to hcimc's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
The Dunlops are NOT rated at 69db. They're rated at 71db. They were standard fit on my RX and I changed them when they wore out to Michelin Latitude Tour HP and they're eerily quiet. 36psi is too high, the RX is rated at 32psi I believe. Although I prefer 37psi as it feels more solid rather than cushy. -
Just to clarify - the IS does not have navigation as standard. These will have the rotary dials. As an option you could choose Business Nav which also comes with a rotary dial. It just adds navigation to the screen basically. Then you get Premium nav which has 2 more speaks, reversing camera and increased connectivity etc. That comes with the mouse. The car is awesome, can't say anyone has been disappointed with it at all, gets loads of looks on the street!

Yes, the Ultra blue is only on 2013-2015 cars. The switchover was in September 2015 so the 65 plate cars will be Azure blue unless they're late registered ones.

19" wheels will need 215/35 r19 tyres if you go for the same width - TBH you'll struggle with the sidewall as itll be 37mm wide - you'll literally clip every single pothole or raised surface with those on and especially when turning. 18" wheels are better - you need 215/40 r18 tyres if going for the same width. Sidewalls will be better but still pretty slim. Go for ET35 for a flush look on 7J alloys. Itll push it out 10mm on each side. This is a car with 19" wheels As you can see, no sidewall whatsoever. Just to confirm, have you actually driven the vehicle before? Putting 18" and 19" wheels on a CT which already rides overly stiff, even more so if you went for the F-Sport model is a total no no, hence why nobody has really done it.
-
35 will lead to a 1mph error which isnt too bad. The main problem is, the ride height will go down by almost 1cm and considering the CT is already pretty low and can scrape the door on high kerbs as well as the front fascia, it'll mean OP will have to be VERY careful. Of course, if this is not too much of an issue then thats fine. 40 is better. Error is too small to notice and the ride height gain will be 2mm which is hardly anything and unnoticeable. OP if you are keeping the same width wheels (7J), go for ET35, itll push it out and fill the gap. Current wheels are ET45. The main issue is going to be the sidewall - itll look like this: In other words, the sidewall is going to be 215 x 0.4 (aspect ratio) = 86mm 86mm/2 = 43mm!!

The CT200H is a car primarily focused on economy. The wheels are under the arches to help with this. The last time I drove a CT loaner it rode like a rock. I can only imagine that'd get worse with 18" wheels and let's not forget the speedo will be out too as you won't be able to match the tyres to keep the rolling diameter the same as its already running rubber band tyres Non chavvy wheels huh? Something from Lexus and most likely very expensive......

Different colours. Azure blue is the new blue with 4 layers. It has a silver layer in between and is slightly lighter in bright light. Ultra blue is the original blue with 3 layers. It's somewhat darker and has a purpleish hue in dim lighting

You can put 22 inches on the RX if you want - itll handle it no problem

Just done the update - I was on something ancient - It was VCXXXXXX Its smoother and I can tell straight away but not noticed anything else apart from that Something else I would like to add is that it copies the files onto the system first and then after pressing OK a few times it says "ECU update" which may make someone panic. Anyway, after the "ECU update" it tells you to turn ACC off at which point just switch the car off and then on again. The screen will then say "updating system" and after that will turn on normally.

Id be taking a look on Lexus UK used section! Loads of cars on for sale!

The dealers are sometimes not great in terms of knowledge! You have come to the right place however! Generally, we know more about these cars than the dealers!! Now to get onto your questions: 1) From 2012-2015 the 3RX had reversing camera as standard on all models. If in doubt, look for a small black camera on the right side above the number plate. Generally Luxury and above will have it as standard. Not many SE's around so not completely sure about them. 2) Only a single disc in all 3RX's. I believe this is because CD's dont get used anymore and USB/Aux is preferred 3) Advance model is between Luxury and F-Sport. It comes with different alloy wheels, either a sunroof or panoramic roof fitted as standard and a the front bumper from the F-Sport but without the honeycomb grill, instead making do with the slat type grill from the Luxury models. I believe the 2015 models added Mark Levinson audio to the list of standard equipment on the Advance trim along with new alloy design.

Any more details as to how it doesnt work? Do you mean it wont store the seat position or the seat is not moving to its stored position after its been set? Worth making sure that the car is in PARK otherwise it wont work either way. -
It would be a pretty easy thing to miss as the inspection is done first and the valeting done just before the customer collects. Therefore it might not have been there and developed a little while later. Although no fault was found, Lexus UK will still have to pay for it as its a warranty job.

Isf for sale at Lexus Cheltenham
rayaans replied to Carl911's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
I did have an incident with Birmingham when I was looking for an IS300h F-Sport for the wife. They gave me a super low ball figure for the Merc we p/xed eventually to Lexus Chester. I was shocked at the price, firstly because my local dealer had offered me more for the car and a bigger discount on the car I was looking at. £7k is a lot, my local dealer says they aim for about £3k overrall. -
Generally it depends on the colour of the car. I dont like black wheels either - too ghetto for my liking but love Gunmetal wheels! Especially on white I think Gunmetal wheels look great but I dont think they would have looked that good on a colour like Pearlite Grey on our now sold Merc Or I guess you could always go for Gold if you're brave enough :P

Agreed you can't hear anything with that engine running. I know because I had a C220 CDI with the same engine! I wonder if its just the hybrid system making the noise and not the brakes? It does sound like a gassing type of noise sometimes TBH. Its not really an issue for me as its so quiet and rarely happens anyway

To be fair, the spindle grill on the 2012 RX is pretty big, although it has a partition in the middle unlike the IS which completely dominates the front but I think it looks good. I am looking for a 2016 RX450h currently but being very particular, it appears there arent many in the combo I want! Im not going down the new route this time simply because they lose half their value in 3 years so will go for a demo! Im looking for White/Red, pan roof and Heads up display and Mark levinson too but there arent many around! Ill wait another 6 months, could probably live without the Mark Levinson anyway!

From what I have been told from my "sources", its grown into a mini SUV type thing. But then that did get me confused as a UX has been trademarked and that would probably be a smaller crossover than the NX.
-
Unlikely. The rear brakes always seem to have a fair amount of superficial rust on the discs after rain even after being driven so I think its because the rust surface doesn't come off completely - its patchy. That'd explain why the hard braking would sort it too as it removes all the rust.

Rx400h reliability
rayaans replied to Bigden28's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Very impressive considering the technology they are packed with. My RX450h is going too with no issues - on 40k at the moment and only had to change the tyres and wipers. Still 5 years left in the brakes from the looks of it too! -
Dont know what you mean about us not liking the Spindle Grill image. Ive got 2 and you're the only one on this thread without the so called Spindle Grill!! Not too sure about the excesses either - sometimes it makes £10 difference to put £500 instead of £250.
-
Doesnt do it on the IS250 or the IS200T so its definitely got to be the rear brakes not getting used much due to regen!
