  1. As a tyre gets older they become more dangerous. I'd keep it as a spare, only for emergency situations but definitely wouldn't skimp out on new tyres.
  2. Agreed. Keep the car in normal. I find Sport mode is too sensitive to throttle input sometimes
  3. Could be absolutely anything causing the discrepancy. Might be the temperature, fuel quality, driving style and even tyre pressures.
  4. Agreed - especially before any fatalities have been found
  5. Nah it doesnt - it can hit 25mpg. The other half has had a consecutive 6 month reading of 27 +- 2mpg on the IS300h
  6. I dont understand the big deal about recalls? Surely its better to get them sorted before the airbags actually go off spontaneously right?
  7. There you go, as you can see the screen is much bigger 10.1" now I believe, the remote touch has some nice stitching on it now and the centre console is now inset, rather than sat on top along with dark brushed aluminium in place of the plastic. Cant see properly in the picture above but the cupholder has been changed too and its subtle, but the steering wheel is different - now has square buttons in place of the round ones. Can't tell for sure but it seems the IS F-Sport might also be coming with the Naguri trim from the GS F-Sport:
  8. Yep try another dealer - Edgeware aren't great in my experience.
  9. Those are just chrome trims. They won't help with dings or anything as the door sticks out further in the middle than it does at the bottom.
  10. Yup, unless you go for the premier model of course where you can add it on. Massive discounts on them too - almost £5k worth!
  11. Not really, the foam will soften over time and won't actually affect the leather itself, although you might see wrinkling of the leather which is completely natural. I think what you mentioned about the lifting off and then accelerating is due to the 8 gears. It probably gets confused about which gear it wants. I drove it in manual mode and its much better IMO. Or using auto and then just using paddles when you want a burst of acceleration All the new cars are generally on the same system so if you work it out on one, then you can probably do everything on the rest of the lineup. I believe the facelift is getting rid of the plastic centre console and adding brushed black aluminium in its place too!
  12. The new IS is more driver focused hence the feeling of sitting in the car rather than on top of the car like in th old IS The sports seats are heavily bolstered which is why the leg support is how you describe. It softens over time. I presume this was a car with less than 5k on it? The auto box has AI tech. Its supposed to "learn" how the driver drives and it may need time to do that. It's great for spirited driving though but not great at low speeds. Maybe it's just me, I'm getting quite old but I still find it pretty simple to use. More so than other cars I've been in but maybe that's just because all the new ones are on the same system. Also I don't think the IS has any more plastic than any other cars in the class. The BMW 3 series, Merc C and new A4 all have a lot of plastic. The new a4 has much more than you'd expect! I believe the older IS actually has more plastic in it!
  13. The roof rails you may be able to source from ebay The supagard is a £30 product that they apply. It lasts about a week or two as they rarely apply it properly. Comes with a warranty for 3 years which, when you go and say "oh its stopped working" they'll say "should have followed the maintenance routine". The scratch repairs are handy but the supagard won't last long and it certainly won't counteract any 2 year olds "stains". I generally just protect the car myself and it's coped better than my 05 RX which was supagarded. I didn't know any better then!
  14. Those are very rare - Ive checked mine and they're pristine, as good as new! Dont really know what could have caused that kind of corrosion really Ahh you should have asked us about the Supagard - its crap!
  15. Sounds good - Id opt for 18" wheels with ET35, they look the business! But don't think about 19" lol The reason for the wheels pushed in slightly is to reduce drag - you'll see the same on VW Blumotion trimmed vehicles If the car is under warranty, you can ask for a free hard copy from the local Lexus dealer. Also, there is usually a quick start guide for the most common things
  16. As above - Who did you buy the car from? Also, it is very common to have this issue - its sometimes because the database hasnt updated yet. But be sure to make sure its totally cleared before you pay the remaining balance.
  17. Yep all facelift models come with safety system + as standard therefore you will get the pre collision system, adaptive cruise control, lane departure assist etc
  18. Just be aware that it won't feel as fast. Don't know whether it's the smoothness or the lack of gear changes but I ended up at 100mph thinking I was at 70mph plenty of times. Oops
  19. Don't get that, doesn't match whatsoever. It a completely different colour!
  20. I know you mentioned a 330d but compared to a 320d the IS300H is quicker in day to day driving. 30-50mph takes 3s whereas in a 320d it'd take 3.6s, 50-70mph absolutely blows a 320d out of the park. Takes 4s in an IS and 6.8s in a 320d! You won't be disappointed on long drives, the quietness of the car helps too and you'll be doing about 40mpg+ on those.
  21. I thought 1H6 was bright silver? Closest colour matching IS F Sport wheels is Nissan phantom grey code 1E3
  22. Yes, both. The voice training seems to only be on cars with Enform
  23. If you're flooring it at the lights you'll get about 30mpg. Trust me I know! On longer trips you should get about 45mpg or more. But then the real question is - if you're thinking of this kind of driving, maybe the BMW badge is more suited?!
  24. They do still provide wheel insurance. It might be a dealer insurance though rather than a national Lexus wheel insurance thing.
