  1. Yep, whoever told you that is bang on the money. The headlights develop micro-cracks as a result of UV light and this causes yellowing over time.
  2. You might have a button saying Setup or something like that - is it under there?
  3. Looking good, Hate that colour with a passion but WTH, it still looks great!
  4. If you have Navigation, Go on Menu, then Setup. Then go to Vehicle Customization and then Light Settings. It should be under there. If you can't find it, let us know. Its possible that if you bought your car used, someone could have put it down to 1 which is the lowest setting. Just turn it back up to 3 and you should be OK. If its already on 3, go to 4, see if you are satisfied and if not go to 5.
  5. It's because they aren't very popular. Executive cars usually are diesels and especially MBs. Id suspect the price reflects that
  6. Just realised you said £25k so it must be the one before the newest shape right? That's actually not a slow car but they're insanely rare. Some don't even know about them

Don't think many dealers care much about losing profits from one person as they'll reel some punter in for everyone that goes especially if they're german
  8. Played around with the equaliser? It sounds the same as the other systems in the Lexus GS if the equaliser is kept in the middle. Also depends alot on the source of the music - Bluetooth being one of the worst.
  9. The E200 is a niche market. E's are usually (if not always) diesel. The E200 is pretty sluggish. The smallest engine would have to be the E220 CDI and the only reason is because its got a lot of torque. I think the E200 replaced the E240 but even then, its still pretty darn slow at 0-60mph in 10s. With the lack of torque as well, it'd be pretty sluggish and buyers aren't going to want a sluggish big saloon.
  10. Looks similiar to the one I have in mine except my IS is White/Red so I edited it to show the red seats :)
  11. You're going to have trouble shifting a 2.0l petrol Merc tbh with you, does depend on the model though. Everyone wants diesels nowadays
  12. Generally most manual petrol cars have a high biting point. Have you been driving a diesel before?
  13. Generally it depends on the car you've seen and the condition. If its fair condition, then most buyers will snap it up regardless of whether the seller can offer finance, especially if its a private deal. It also depends on the value of the car - its always going to be much harder selling a £50k car than a car less than £5k. If the price is right and the condition of the vehicle is fair (buyers love a full service history, shiny tyres and a generally clean car but dont usually bother with stone chips and light scratches) then it'll get snapped up, especially if its a desirable car
  14. No, just an observation - they are definitely genuine Lexus seats but it'd cost ALOT of money to reupholster the front and rear seats completely hence the logical thing to do is find some good condition seats in a car thats been written off or something i.e. the bay of E's! The Advance spec is supposed to fit in between the SE and SE-I I think. Im not too familiar with the specs on the SE but I think it has the cloth seats without ventilation? correct me if I am wrong. Therefore the advance would just be a leather upgrade I presume
  15. I wouldnt say thats the case - Lexus has always had "some" options but not a huge list The 4th gen GS has only 2 or 3 options on it.
  16. Very expensive when things go wrong and not the most reliable cars at all Great build quality though and genuinely great ride. Just dont expect it to be reliable whatsoever and you should be OK
  17. The best thing to do is track down 2 cars, one with and without. Make sure you play with the equaliser settings! Sometimes the previous owners don't even realise and have it stuck in the middle for everything! On the IS models theres not much of a difference but on the GS there is, to my ears anyway. The ML on the GS is really great. Not too sure on evoque specs but heard meridian on the £995 meridian, no idea if that's the more expensive one or the cheaper one and it was about the same but had more bass. The ML is an audiophile system so don't expect door shaking bass unless you stick bass all the way up and treble all the way down and crank the volume up
  18. Tbh 24k miles would be quite good for the engine anyway on an already reliable car. You shouldn't have any major problems really
  19. Ok just done some research and here are the findings: 1) The car originally should have grey perforated leather seats 2) The interior has NOT been reupholstered - it has been replaced with genuine Lexus black seats from the Advance spec which does NOT have perforations. The backs from the original grey seats, as well as the seatbelt holders and fittings have been kept as they are and the black seats have just been put on top really. 3) The rear lights appear to be from the advance spec too Here is a 2011 Lexus IS250 Advance with the same lights and non perforated leather interior http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201606185049471?search-target=usedcars&make=lexus&model=is_250&sort=pricedesc&radius=1500&searchcontext=default&page=5&postcode=wf177eu&onesearchad=new%2Cnearlynew%2Cused&logcode=p&adPos=10
  20. Simple. Seats have been pulled out from a lower trim car. It's a job someone had done with seats from a breaker

  22. The car hasn't been reupholstered Its had a seat swap from grey to black and the original grey plastic piece has been swapped into the black seats. Wouldn't say its that much of a problem except the VIN will be showing grey interior...... This is what it used to look like:

Must have been a decent dealer. Most will just say "it was already there, you can't prove it wasnt already there, therefore we didn't cause it"
