A yellow light shows. Looks like a flat tyre cross section if it's low. When it's low. Just put air in. The light goes off after a mile or so
No need to reset the tpms. Leave it as it is otherwise it resets to lowest tyre pressure so if one is on 33psi it'll set to that
Do the above and set it to 1. It should sort the seat issue out And it shouldn't go to 2 from then onwards.
It's possible you accidently pressed them or the dealer did making it go to 2
About this knocking noise, hiw exactly does it happen? When you brake and take off ONLY or when driving at a consistent speed?
My RX did it. Made a thump each time I took off and braked. Lexus Bradford said it was a pin sliding about and fixed it
Lexus bradford are pretty awesome so if they've told you theres not much they can do that's that
Firstly, the knocking brake noise is normal. Pads sometimes move around. There's nothing wrong with that.
The seats is an easy fix. You have to assign the default seat setting numbee to the key. How you do it might be in the manual. I think you have to press and hold set and one of the mirrors or something.
They'll charge you £80 + VAT.
I would leave it personally doesn't look that bad. It'll go darker as dirt fills it. My wheel has been kerbed on the RX for 3 years. It's not got any worse either. The new alloy quality is much better than the old IS
That's not true. Somehow the engineer decided it was within their tolerances.
If the same happened in th US the car would either be left outside the dealer or would attract the same outcome
Sounds about right providing the insurer has got the estimates on th repair right.
Their value seems spot on for a 2010 model providing the new 4RX came out which made the 3RX go down in value and normal depreciation of course.
£15600 seems a lot though so as above get it checked over by Lexus bodyshop. I remember the pic you put up and can safely say you need a new bumper, bonnet, lights and Fenders along with th associated grills etc. But £16k? I don't think so. Lexus replaced front bumper and Fender on the IS for £3k. Id say maybe £12k at most. Depending on the insurer they pay up to 70% of value before writing off so I'd haggle to say the value is higher or somehow find a lower estimate
I find its easier to just wash the car. Working on a car like my RX you end up going through 50 mf towels.
Just wash the car and spray the car was Sonax BSD and that's it. Faster than waxing. Or get a spray sealant like Sonax PNS
Yep renewals go up in my experience and yes sometimes it's cheaper if you get a new quote.
I think it's to make extra money off those that don't bother shopping around whilst also enticing new customers in
Yes you can only check if it needs an update
I'd presume yours is different and therefore needs updating? At this point in time I think only Lexus can do it.
It does depend on when it was done and whether they were uploaded onto the database to be fair.
Some companies like Kwik Fit started doing it before it was required
Right so does the car already have cruise control fitted but it's just a matter of sticking a switch in?
I would have thought insurers would be very wary of cruise control retrofits
It shows the full history regardless of number plate changes - all my cars have been on private plates and if I put in the original reg, it shows the MOT when I had it done too.
I wouldnt let rust bother you - simply because its very unlikely.
Rust will form on any car, even if galvanised and there's some body damage etc.
However, if you make sure the car is sealed underneath, it should be fine.
Interesting - I guess they thought there was nothing really wrong with the car then even though you did.
The R8 one put me off the most, the S8 wasn't that bad. But the R8 gearbox went, car was still under warranty - I got told I was driving it too hard :(
Cost £6k oops
Ah well - atleast its somewhat sorted now. Did you sell it privately or using car buying services then? Shifted pretty quickly?
Hmm well my experience of Audi isn't a great one after used R8 and S8 so I won't be going back there anytime soon, unless there's something very enticing!
What was the reason behind not getting an IS200T?
Map updates info is here:
http://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu/Shop/Index
Then choose IS300/200 and select Lexus Navigation 13CY - go through the scroller and check if your map needs updating. Having said that, Lexus dealers can only do the update for the map on the non-premium nav.
£200 seems more than usual - they usually say about £150. Try to get them down if you desperately need it.
