  1. The Lexus models don't have them now. They can be added for around £400 from the dealer
  2. Yes Fusso is very good. More of a sealant. You can use Fusso without polishing after a clay bar as it has very good filling properties
  3. Lol agreed - it must be something to do with the temperature being high. Id assume its caused something to expand and hence cause the noise.
  4. Hi Chris, its not absolutely essential but it'd be advisable. The reason being that the clay bar does leave very small scratches in the paint so a polish will just get rid of those - gives a better shine really.
  5. Must be a silver car thing!! :P Ive never heard that noise before, it sounds really odd. I wonder how many other owners have this noise. Did it just occur now or has it been there a while?
  6. I realise that, but it won't have enough to contemplate claying the car - especially since the PDI will have included removal of transport wax (along with all the other crap on the paint)
  7. Well you've registered it already so it doesnt matter if it goes over the 31st of August. Its not normal, haven't heard it on any IS (or any other Lexus)
  8. No it shouldnt have illuminated scuff plates.
  9. The "self healing" paint doesn't self heal. In theory light scratches = swirls and therefore there should be no swirls on any Lexus IS yet if you look at a black one or a blue one its got loads?! Its just marketing. Some say to pour hot water on it, others say to leave it in direct sunlight, hasnt made any difference to be honest. If it takes you longer than an hour to wash the IS with 2 buckets, a hose and a wash mitt, you're doing something wrong. It takes that long to do my RX. With regard to the claying, I'd say use a clay bar first - it gives a visual indication. The Clay mitt does NOT and therefore you might actually be rubbing on the paint a lot more than you should be doing. Dont see why you'd need to clay a 2 month old car though, it only needs doing about once a year and you should polish after as it leaves scratches in the paint
  10. Depends what you want, TBH the "oh its gone up all over my paint" is a poor excuse for "I didnt apply it properly" especially with gel type products. They need wiping on with a sponge, not a blooming paint brush (overloads the tyres which results in sling) and then after a few minutes, a cloth round each tyre to lift any excess off. I use Autosmart Highstyle, very cheap and outlasts a lot of others (been on my car a month) - if you want something even longer lasting, go for Autosmart Trim wizard which is technically a plastic dressing but its mega durable on tyres from my experience. Its funny you mention that Gtechniq product, I tried it and thought the cost to performance ratio was extremely poor compared to the likes of Soft99 Black/Black and other tyre "coatings"
  11. Thats not normal. Sounds like plastic on plastic creaking. Id probably take that to the nearest dealer
  12. The thing is, Lexus paint is super soft as it is, almost to the point that a finger nail will scratch it. The bit under the handles look OK but only because I polish it regularly, my sons Polo on the other hand barely has any! The concept is pretty good in theory and theoretically will not leave scratches. In practice its different. You should only use waterless washes on light dirt, with very light pressure and in one straight wipe and a clean side used for each stroke. This rarely happens in real life. Instead you get waterless wash guys who claim to do a whole car including wheels in an hour. Doing I properly will probably take longer than conventional washing
  13. Depends what you want. If you want a ceramic sealant which will last 2 years, go for Cquartz UK. Its great stuff and just needs an occasional top up with the supplied Reload. Extremely easy to use as well unlike some coatings out there. If you want something less permanent, go for a sealant like FK1000p or Soft99 Fusso for winter.
  14. I don't think it's supposed to be an autonomous at high speeds. I think the lane keep assist is just to make sure you don't nod off and completely go out of lane. I think you can get the car to move off from a standstill with the accelerator pedal rather than using the stalk
  15. If you fancy a change, there's white/black at Teeside and there's a silver/grey one down south. Both under £21k
  16. Rattles are present on almost every car. Even a new car. Sometimes owners don't realise it until they get loud enough or aren't sensitive to it. People seem to notice rattles in Lexus more, mostly because they are quiet. A diesel on the other hand will mask any quieter rattles. Best of luck with the dash fix. The CT advance was not to my tastes when I had it as a loaner but was solid with no rattles and had 10k on it. My IS300H also has no rattles. My RX on the other hand is on 40k and has had a rattle in the rear for a while which I cba getting fixed
  17. What a waste of a purchase!! Should have taken it with you!! 😂😂
  18. The parking sensors are black plastic before painting so its not "paint falling down" More likely its paint splatter from the road or something like that
  19. Should have said "keep clean" lol, not easier to clean ha! It looks cleaner than any other colour even when its really really dirty. Hides scraches very well too.
  20. Height is exactly the same but the shocks are Tokico. The car is low enough as it is - dropping by 10-15mm = huge problem with bumps
  21. Agreed with this ^^
  22. Its OK - not great TBH. I prefer the arctic pearl and sonic white, they're much much better, both in terms of reflectivity and ability to change colour in different light
  23. Agreed, they just need an online map updating service which is reasonably priced. TomTom maps are also £35 if you have an old unit and new ones usually have lifetime map updates free Lexus need something like £50 for one and £100 for 3 or something, not £250 for just one!!
  24. Yep it'll be around that price £250 is good
