  1. Most likely you either didn't lock it twice which you have to do with all Lexus vehicles otherwise the immobiliser isn't activated or they used a programme to get in. Either way, there's no much you can do to be honest. If they want a car they'll take it somehow, the good thing being that they didn't have to enter the house
  2. Standard fit is 24" driver and 21" passenger. http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/lexus-rs-300-400-years-1998-to-2003/wbtr-24-retrofit-aero-and-wbtr-21-retrofit-aero-twin-pack-wiper-blades/ These are good blades.
  3. It's designed to go over normal speed bumps at 40mph so it should be ok. Tuch wood no scrapes on the front bumper on ours. The scrapes are generally caused by people parking in spaces with a kerb in front of them and misjudging the distance
  4. Yea limited to 124mph. I've done stupid speeds before and it was stable I. E one handed effort. I've never ragged it though, it's always pretty smooth acceleration and braking
  5. Yes its normal, the engine needs to warm up, hence why it turns on. You'll find that if its warm and you turn the car off and jump into a shop for something and come back out, it wont start up
  6. In real world terms, you'll notice the ride difference more than the others. Its not very often you'd go around a 20mph turn at 50mph so it shouldn't make much difference. The Dunlop Sportmaxx 2 are good tyres, be aware that the contisportcontact 5 has shocking tread life though as its a very soft, grippy compound.
  7. If the car is ON and showing READY on the dashboard - then stop/start traffic will not drain the battery. If you have turned the car to accessory mode, it will drain the battery but it'll turn off before the battery is completely drained. MPG depends on the driver - no 2 ways about it - people can claim to drive two different cars in exactly the same way but chances are they wont. For example, I drive my RX450h in a more relaxed nature to my wife's IS300h as it encourages more hard cornering etc Not really many issues TBH, these cars are bulletproof. Just do the usual checks, make sure there's a full service history, no crash damage and you should be fine. The leather seats are VERY soft so look out for any scuffs and marks. Kerbed wheels are annoying to get back to the original colour so ensure all 4 are the same colour. Apart from that, these don't really have any issues
  8. I wrote this up a while back. Has some before and after photos for you :)
  9. just realised that the car in the video is missing the Triple LED signature lights. Here's a pic - looks much much better than the normal LED's in my opinion (yes they are LED's, not xenons!)
  10. Its fixed for 3 years apart from if VAT goes up, then it'll go up by how much VAT goes up. However, that's extremely unlikely. The price wont change for any other reason so rest assured what you agree to is what you'll pay in the end.
  11. I have a few of these. Seem to get one after each service.
  12. I use a tyre compressor - the RING RAC635 as a dual purpose tyre compressor and tyre gauge :)
  13. Most likely a plastic bag getting stuck to something hot and smelling really bad. We used to do this as pranks back in the day, albeit, we used to stick kippers and plastic bags under out friend's exhaust box after he'd parked up straight after a drive. The exhaust was still hot so it'd stick. Then when he'd drive it stunk like mad!
  14. Rumour has it that there is a 3.0l V6 turbo in the pipeline but no idea if that'll make it to the UK - around 350hp from what Ive been told. Problem is, BMW sells more 3 series anyway - they sell absolutely loads in comparison to the IS so its inevitable that some, albeit very few will be 340i
  15. Yep just fobbed me off when enquiring for an RX. Didnt even know whether it had HUD fitted or not as standard! I usually ask them multiple questions I already know the answer to just to know whether they actually know anything about the car or not. Its funny because the guy said HUD is fitted as standard (when its not), that the new RX is "about the same size as the old one" when it was parked next to an older one and stuck out 12 inches more! Crazy, they even thought their RX was Sonic white when it was F-Sport white LOL
  16. Because I heated up the first one I did with a hairdryer all over - Made it all sticky and gloopy and it took 3 MF's to get the glue off the door. With the other side, I only heated up one corner so I could pry it off with my nail and then just pulled with reasonable force. It comes straight off and makes much less of a mess!
  17. I'm not so sure a V6 would have pulled more sales. The IS is in a segment full of diesels. This is the segment that company car buyers like to dwell in most and the 200t can't really compete with the diesels whereas the IS 300h can. Youd find it hard looking for a BMW or an Audi with a petrol engine newer than 2014 too
  18. Come renewal time Lexus Leeds will say "fixed price sir". They've changed ownership and are no longer Benfield. The new guys from vantage are a bunch of stuck up lot! The dealer I was in touch with at Leeds, a nice guy called Paul has left too
  19. Not quite true haha! Bought my son a Light grey VW Polo as a first car - Silverbird Metallic they call it, a very rare colour apparently, did some research and turns out VW didn't offer the colour in the UK but had shipped some from Germany to the UK already which meant that it would be inconvenient to send them back! And my previous RX was black and a greeny blue Merc (genuinely loved the colour, i think it was called perlite grey, the car not so much!) Should have January delivery for sure. They're doing some stonking 0% and £5k off deals on the IS300h F-Sport at the moment - that only means one thing - they want to get rid of as much stock as they can!
  20. The hybrid system is boxed off and needs no maintenance apart from the Hybrid health check to keep the warranty in place. Every other serviceable item you should be able to do it yourself if you feel competent enough to do so.
  21. Very odd, does seem like premature wear. My RX in comparison has done 41k miles, still on original and has 40% left so im quite pleased.
  22. Yep you can remove the two plastic sheets on the sides and the one at the rear. DO NOT use hot air. Just use a fingernail to get the edge off and pull. It should just come off. If you start heating it, it'll leave loads of glue behind which will need removal and takes ages. Ask me how I know.......
  23. All Lexus are usually 10k/1 year for private owners
  24. Yh don't need to do anything. The IS doesn't haven't adaptive lights anyway.
  25. It appears to be the same system as the new RX which is much smoother and generally better than the older system we have. It's definitely better than now. I think that steering wheel looks great with the squarer buttons and im liking the recessed center console along with the brushed aluminium piece instead of plastic. Looks more upmarket IMO. That screen does look good as well. I think the car will look best in black though!
