Adjustable lumber support F sport
rayaans replied to joelfigueira's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Only the driver gets it. Have to say though, not really needed anyway as they are incredibly comfortable seats. -
Normal for engine to start when you power on?
rayaans replied to hybridriver's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Yes its much more pronounced. You wont really miss it, especially if you go for Azure blue!! UK cars get the triple LED headlights as well which aren't shown here. Oh and the trim in the F-Sport looks and feels great! -
Its a built in safety net in all cars. VW has 10% as well, with speedo showing 80mph and the GPS on tomtom showing about 72mph.

I think the best solution is actually to reverse park into the space. The rear is slightly higher. TBH the car gets over normal sized kerbs but there's too many dodgy high kerbs around and in that case I just leave it parked further backwards in the space. Also, my sensors tend to pick high kerbs up anyway. Remember driving lessons? I got told by my instructor the front of the car will be where the bottom of the mirror lines up with the white junction line. I still use that to this day and its never failed me. Obviously dont line it up, leave it slightly back!

Yep, very few on the market though. They have an even bigger grill, the F-Sport gets new 3D effect trim (looks and feels awesome) and of course the new lights and wheel options. -
The IS is F-Sport White yes. Its a decent colour actually, shows up other white cars as being Ivory and it has glass flakes in it so sparkles with a blueish hue in the sun. However, in the clouds it just looks like flat white which is a bit annoying. The RX is Arctic Pearl, I love it, seems to change in any light and never looks flat which is great! The new Sonic White is very similiar to Arctic pearl but has even more flake and its slightly brighter white than the Arctic pearl which is an Ivory tone.

WiperBlades
rayaans replied to madasahatter's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Interesting...... TBF they both look the same but I was under the impression Trico supplied them as they've been supplying the RX since 2009 and therefore they would have had 2 different suppliers for wipers? I wonder if they're just rebranded because they look EXACTLY the same -
Quite interesting that you say that actually - I think Ganzoom had an issue with his rotating easily. Mine feels like its welded on, I tried rotating it quite hard but it doesnt budge.

WiperBlades
rayaans replied to madasahatter's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Should mention that Denso are NOT the OEM blades. Trico Shield are the OEM blades and very hard to get hold of in the UK. TBH ive had no issues with Bosch aerowiper and Wiperblades.co.uk own brand. -
I presume you mean the silvery paint on the gearstick between the leather parts right? Well its not exactly put on right thick so Id think that a polish designed for car paint might actually make it worse?

They've changed since they were Benfield - the old staff have gone and been replaced by new ones. Lexus Bradford will buy it off you, they don't have much stock at the moment and need every IS300h they can get

Well yes, the keyless issue could be solved very easily. Just go back to physical keys and that's that saga over. But if you want to keep keyless go, then I doubt there's much that can be done. Otherwise it would have already been done don't you think? You have to understand, it's not a "serious" risk at all. How many cars get stolen compared to crashed? Driving a car is probably more risky than leaving it on the drive

Ive not found the F-Sport uncomfortable either - rides better than my RX F-Sport anyway. Id pass the 300h on the GS though, too small for the car. The 450h is where its at and with that incredible rear wheel steering its insane! Goes around corners better than an IS TBH -
Id have to say its probably just you. Ive heard of these issues with Lexus vehicles before though and Id have to say its because of your height. Im 6ft and Im perfectly satisfied with the IS Fsport seats and the RX seats as well. The poking forward is unusual but I suspect its because you had the backrest too straight?

There is but it involves a locked and alarmed garage (with the silverlox doors not the roller doors), with no other access points into it. You could also fit a clamp to your car or a steering lock. My point is - there are a lot of methods to deter or stop thieves, but there has to be a cut off somewhere otherwise you'll end up borderline OCD There's only so much a manufacturer can do though. They provide alarms, immobilisers, locking systems and unique keys but there'll always be someone who knows how to crack them. When these things happen, you just have to pass it off as a bad day and forget about it.

Shouldn't really be a problem running 19" as they are standard fitment on some GS450h's Id say that the alignment was out. My son's VW polo was bought at auction and the steering was extremely heavy - I was quite surprised as I thought it had Power steering and checked the manual to confirm. It turned out there was too much negative camber and the car had completely shredded inner tread. Worth checking alignment out if the steering is heavy really. And yes the mirrors on the GS450h are slightly smaller than the RX300. Cant say you wont get used to them though.

Well its a concept but generally the exterior looks production ready - it wont need much change for the outside. The interior is more complex and will be toned down quite a bit but its nice to see something a bit different. As for whether its a C-HR, its probably running on the same platform but like the RAV-4 and the NX, they will drive differently and of course, Lexus quality is much much better. Remember the LF-CC concept interior? Looks very similar to the IS interior today.

rx 450h questions
rayaans replied to stoney2016's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
On the 450h, if you put your foot on the brake, the start button will show a green light and the car will turn on and say READY in the cluster. If you don't put your foot on the brake, and press the button twice, it'll go to accessory mode where you can use all the functions but the engine wont turn on. So as Josh mentioned above, its equivalent to turning a key once when listening to the radio with the car off etc -
Is it worth the extra?.......
rayaans replied to Alan Partridges Left Glove's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I think the issue is more with the "no options" than anything else. Lexus UK work differently to other manufacturers in that they send over the most popular colour combos and spec before they've been ordered. Dealers then sell these or take them on as demonstrators. If you go for something out of the ordinary, i.e. an IS F-Sport with no options, chances are they'll have to build it which takes longer. BTW it does take roughly a month before the car is built and hence why you get that delay - you can usually change the spec/trim a month after ordering if its being specially built. Try getting the dealer to look around for other colours, combos and spec and see what happens -
Lexus have released this picture of the interior. Few things Ive noticed: Seats look like the spider seat concept which was released about a week ago The car is missing conventional rear view mirrors and instead, has cameras which feed into a screen on each side of the dashboard The multimedia system in the dashboard is using holograms!!! The glass box in the middle will show climate, infotainment etc as holograms as well and the remote touch seems to be updated once more The interesting thing is that the LS concept also used holograms. Its looking extremely likely that Lexus will just skip updating their current system and move straight onto holograms with their new infotainment system

Short vid of the 2017 IS Facelift
rayaans replied to rayaans's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Damn thats close. That kerb looks very high though! Usually if its a parking space like that I reverse inwards. The rear is higher and seems to go over everything, not to mention the reversing camera helps! -
Its not to do with economy. Its because the hybrid components can't handle more than 124mph. The exception being the GS450h which can go to 150mph. The IS200t goes to 143mph so its not the components of the rest of the car

You get it free for 3 years I believe. I got it free on both cars for 3 years anyway! Its £125 a year if buying as a standalone by direct debit each year on the Lexus website.
