  1. UK cars dont get it, an american thing I believe. For the better as well IMO, it makes a horrid noise!
  2. The simple answer is no. When the car is Ready, you'll have to press the power button and turn it off fully before you can go to accessory. However, if you've driven to work and the battery is full, there's no reason why you couldn't just leave the car in ready mode as it should just stay on the hybrid battery without switching the engine on unless AC is on.
  3. Your posts sound a bit hypocritical. Yes the CT may not be to your taste but it has a function and owners tend to love it, hence the masses of owner reviews about it being so good. Its also due a refresh as it came out in 2011. The C250d is hardly underpowered at 6.3s to 60. You can't use that in daily driving anyway and the torque should be enough. Still not fast enough, heck just get a C300 then. You mention 335d but dont want a diesel, get a 340i then or an M3, job done. You wont look twice at a Lexus RC-F but are happy to look twice at a BMW, Audi or Merc right? See what I mean about hypocritical? I question why you would get the IS300h in the first place if you're looking at cars which are much faster.
  4. Its a PITA cleaning a black car - thats why I went white! Its just the dirt really that makes it really annoying to keep on top of. With the black wheels, you are certainly going to be very busy
  5. Id presume that there is some kind of issue with the car itself then. Definitely needs taking to the dealer and making sure its not something loose etc etc You mention you've had the wheels balanced recently but a wheel weight could easily have popped off and cause vibrations like these so make sure that the wheel weights are still on the vehicle. You should be able to tell by checking for signs of glue
  6. The bumper is plastic so wont rust or anything and if its not visible then there's not really any point in doing it. BUT, like all things it depends on how bothered you are about it.
  7. Any leather cleaner should be fine. However, because the car is new, currently its best to maintain with a damp microfibre cloth. You should only need to clean the tahara trim properly with a leather cleaner once every year providing its a 10k/year car.
  8. Sounds like tyre balancing issue. The GS300h doesn't have "vibrations"
  9. A Lexus RCF would fit into that group very well I think. Or even a GSF if you need the space looking at how the prices are coming down.
  10. I think the perforations on the pre facelift rx450h are only on the top specs. The height of the 450h and rx300 is the same. It may be because the seat was too low?
  11. Agreed, some of the dealers don't even know standard equipment on models unless they look in the brochure. Usually the manager will know whats coming and when but the sales staff find out at the last minute or at the drive events. Lets just say that an LS is coming with a fuel cell option so we'll see what happens.......
  12. OK so essentially, the actual engine and hybrid setup remain the same from 2009-2015. All are 295hp regardless of trim. The facelift was in 2012 where DRL's were added. Now what the link doesn't tell you is that the shocks were changed in 2012 to give the RX a better ride and hence its probably better to go for a facelifted RX, not to mention it looks better IMO. I would say the pick of the range is the Advance from 2014 onwards in terms of value. Something I forgot to mention is that the LED lights are a must have IMO, they're awesome at night, the xenon's don't even come close. Also be aware that the Premier has air suspension. AFAIK, there's not been many failures on 450h but they cost a bomb if they go. The ride is not much more different either so not really worth moving to a Premier for the air suspension alone. The F-Sport is great as it has the heads up display. It has lateral dampers to reduce vibration but the PDF doesn't mention that it also has stiffened suspension. It rolls a lot less compared to the other models and I got it because it looks better and comes with decent handling. I felt the other RX's rolled a bit too much. The PDF also doesn't mention that the Premier has semi-aniline leather i.e. it requires a lot more care and its rather delicate compared to the leather used in other trim levels.
  13. There is no power difference between the different trim levels so all have decent power - mid range is best though - it'll take on a Cayenne hybrid with much more power (and win) between 30-50mph and 50-70mph. The premier is the top trim and has all the goodies, however, I think the Advance is the best in the range in terms of value and what you actually get. It has better looks due to the F-Sport bumper but maintains the ride comfort of the luxury. The best bit however, is that it comes with the pan roof as standard. Some of the later models got Mark levinson system as standard as well I believe.
  14. I agree completely. It was just part of me being curious about how many RX's do actually get stolen compared to other cars. The X5 seems to be a big hit as are most BMW's. Considering they sell for double the price in India I wouldnt be surprised if they were shipped over there as well as the usual places in Africa etc
  15. More fun to drive than pretty much anything in that price range. Go for 2.7 or the 3.2. Dont be tempted by the 2.5 as its a bit weedy.
  16. Yep 3 is defo the speed camera warnings from the sat nav. The Sport model doesn't get the moving turn lines. Only the cars with Premium nav will get that
  17. or a Boxster 986 - pretty cheap to sort out if anything goes wrong as well if you use a good independent. Can be had for less than £7k
  18. Id definitely be interested to see how many RX450h's have been stolen compared to other cars though. Id be more concerned if I had a Golf R, especially with how many of those get stolen per week or some kind of BMW. I believe the vast majority of these dont even have keyless go
  19. All my plates come from myshowplates.com. Never had an issue with any of them and the colour is spot on. Ive got through a fair few plates as well :)
  20. The only thing to worry about are the fees. Generally they end up putting the car up to private sale price if it's low value
  21. Ive bought a few cars from auctions in the past. Never had any issues with any of them bar minor things like pipe leaks. They provide mechanical reports on some cars but others dont have them, especially older ones so worth taking someone along who knows their stuff.
  22. Black or Silver would be my choice. I think dodgy coloured calipers on an RX just emphasise how small the brakes and calipers actually are in comparison to the wheels.
  23. Yes most likely a battery issue. Its about 6 years old and short trips will have had an impact on them so yes, time for a change.
