I think you're being a bit quick here. Every car brand has problems, try checking out engine problems on the new Golf R Firstly, that should NOT happen and it's a manufacturing defect or something is blocking the drip lines. Take it to the dealer, tell them it's not normal, tell them you're on the LOC and other owners don't have it and also tell them you want to see these cars that they have that have the same issue because I can bet they dont

That doesnt make sense unless the dealer carried out a service at 5k-ish miles -
Hmm never heard of this before. Doesnt happen on wife's IS and that gets soaked sometimes especially because it has wax on which hops the water in droplets on the bootlid

Can you not adjust the voice volume n the settings? I wonder if a tyre change would help when its due. The tyres lexus use as standard are generally quite bad for noise

Financially it does make sense as Tesla has a 100% taxable allowance due to being an extremely low emission vehicle. Therefore you practically dont pay tax on the full price of the car. Essentially if its £70k you put down, the car will only cost you £56k after the first year and thats not including any government grants. The problem is that there's also a vehicle costing £65k fully loaded that can benefit from the 100% allowance and thats the Volvo XC90 T8 and its hard to beat one of them IMO.

RX mainly in Sport mode, IS pretty much stays in normal 99% of the time as Sport is a bit peaky. When I drove the NX300h I always had it in Sport

Is it worth the extra?.......

Well Id suppose that would be a form of child abuse lol However, I dont suppose you could chuck her shoes in the boot instead? -

hmm I'm pretty sure it's in the settings in the speedo under driver information 1 or something. -
Well the 450h is in a higher band but that doesn't mean that insurance will be alot higher. It could just be £50 or sometimes even be cheaper. I recently checked insurance on a VW Polo GTI and it's in band 24 I think. It worked out cheaper than a Lexus CT which is in a much lower band. tax on GS250 is quite high , nearly £300 I think. However the biggest issue in my eyes is the boot on the GS. You mentioned twins right? I'd presume you'll need either 2 buggies or one big one and if they're in baby seats, it's much more practical having an SUV as it'll take a toll on your back otherwise. trust me, been there and done that haha

I think Lexus will defo come out with an EV eventually. However we have to understand that Lexus WILL be the last to get on the wagon. They'll have tested it thoroughly to ensure its up to their reliability standard. Theyve been the last to bring out a 4 cylinder turbo, probably will be the last to bring out a V6 turbo, the last premium manufacturer to keep a naturally aspirated V8 engine and most probably the last to have an EV model

Definitely do able. I did it on both my cars. can't remember how though but it's in the settings in the speedo. You can also have it on the nav screen by clicking the little tiny purple box and choosing the economy thing. Then it'll show mpg and tank range on the nav screen next to the nav and whatever else you have on there -
The driver's seat is adjustable on all CT's. I think OP was referring to the passenger seat being unadjustable and too low but Im pretty sure there's no option to adjust it.

Mine is a June 2012 RX450h and just hit 42k. Ive spent nothing on it apart from fuel, VED, wiper refills which I bought from Lexus UK on ebay and fitted myself and servicing. Generally I would think the 400h would be cheaper overall however its also worth considering that the VED on the 400h is £260 whereas the RX450h gets away with £135 Just had a quick look on AT and the cheapest RX400h with less than 80k on it and not been in an accident is £7.5k whereas a RX450h with the same limits is £14k. £6.5k difference but the 450h does have more tech and kit in general. In terms of fuel there's be marginal difference, insurance wise the 400h is in a cheaper band so it may make a difference. Servicing is entirely dependent on who you use but i would say parts for the 450h are slightly dearer. The 450h is a safer vehicle according to the US testing (its not been tested by euro ncap) Overall, I think the £2k over 5 years you mentioned is about right so ultimately, you have to decide whether its worth it.

The auto folding mirrors are only on the F-Sport and Premier I believe. I think there may be third party products which can be added to make them auto fold so might be worth a google. Also, I dont think there is an option to raise the seat height

Is it worth getting a Service Plan?
rayaans replied to keiron99's topic in Lexus General Discussions
Sounds right. Like I said, Lexus UK have fixed the prices. I should mention however that the Lexus Stockport service plan includes free full valet each year, half price MOT, 10% off parts, free puncture repairs for you and any other cars in your family and they'll pick up/drop off your car or you can have a hybrid courtesy car for however long they keep the car (and yes sometimes its 2 days if like me you get service, MOT and full valet done in one go). They also do the hybrid health check required for the warranty after the car is 3 years old which would cost £59 per year otherwise. The advantage is that, if you're going to be keeping the car for 4 years, its highly likely the prices will go up between now and then, however, if you have the plan, then they wont. You also get to pay monthly interest free. If you're doing 20k miles a year, you only need 2 services a year, not 3 so it'll be around £720 per year not £995. Expensive/Not expensive - thats ultimately up to you. Personally Im fine with it as Id prefer my car to have the Lexus stamp in the book and Ive had issues with independents in the past putting wrong oil in and dirty marks all over my car, scratches wheels, pneumatic tools for putting wheel nuts on etc -
Hi Kev, Got to say that does look very good and the choice of wheels and colour is spot on IMO. Are they 19"? Personally, looking at the pictures (the ones where its not jacked up) the ride height looks fine. If you look closely at the wheel arches, the distance between each side of the wheel arch and the tyre seems to be the same. If you start lowering the car, you'd get an uneven look where the distance between top of the tyre and bottom of the arch is less than from the side of the tyre and side of the arch but it depends if thats what you want or not. I also think the IS is quite low generally anyway, its worth remembering that some owners have already scraped the front lip on kerbs and bumps so going lower would probably make that worse.

Yep you must have turned it off by mistake. Lucky it turns back on when you switch the car off eh? I believe there's 4 modes for the traction control but not completely sure. There's definitely fully on, then 3/4 on if you press the button and 1/2 on when you depress the button for more than 5seconds. I think you can also completely disable it but you have to do that using some secret headlight switch and steering wheel button technique lol

Get yourself some Autosmart Tardis from ebay. Its a tar remover and should remove any paint from another car if its on there. Then just hose off. You'll be able to tell the true extent of the damage after that -

When was the car registered? I suspect the mileage for next service is wrong anyway If you've done 8k. YOur need a service in 2k miles, not 7542! If your car is registered in December you'll be looking at December 2016 service, not December 2017 as well. Very odd. The only reason the above wouldn't apply is if you bought it at 5k when it was 1 year old and they did the 10k service which would explain the 7542 miles showing up -
I would be going uniroyal rainsport 3. Available in both sizes and is a great tyre

I think you're confusing me with Ganzoom. I've never said Lexus hates EVs
-
Looking very nice indeed and certainly looks good from the pictures. They are mainly family cars, we take ours with all 3 kids in whenever we go anyway, hence the wear and tear. Luckily, Ive kept on top of mine and its pretty much not got any wear on it apart from the driver's seat and a kerbed alloy! Thinking of trading it in for the new RX come December time if I can source a good ex-demo (the White/red F-Sport in Swindon looks interesting at the minute) but certainly before April 2017!!

That doesn't mean anything though.... Just because they say one thing now, doesn't mean they will not change their mind. Im 100% sure that Toyota said they wouldn't be doing plug in hybrids, yet the prius can be had in plug-in hybrid form If you look at the above, anyone would think Lexus are having a go at 4 cylinder engines, yet the GS now comes with one along with the IS, NX and RX. If I think about it carefully, my wife can probably use a full electric car. The only problem is that the Tesla model S is too big, the Tesla model 3 doesn't look great in my eyes and the model X also looks horrible.

I think the latest one is on the Lexus service pages and you need a special bulletin code to put into it. You can only do it if you have premium nav The normal nav requires an update by the dealer which will be free if you say it's laggy
