  1. Very nice! I hated Sonic Titanium with a passion but the RC sure does wear it well, especially with the red seats and two tone wheels
  2. Is the parking assist on? There is a button on the right of the steering wheel near the Active sound control switch Should show up on the instrument display as a green P with lines coming out of it if its on
  3. Same amount of gears but the actual unit is different. Both produced by Aisin but the one in the RC-F has Artificial Intelligence to guess the drivers driving style etc. Therefore the ECU reset would probably help as it'll start the process again. The behaviour of the box would be explained if the car was bought used as it should have had an ECU reset before delivery/pick up.
  4. No price premium - though the Lexus UK configurator is only showing it for Azure blue and Solar Flare which is annoying. A better picture of it: An NX300h F-Sport with Metallic Paint, Premier pack and Pan roof is £45640. And the discounts remain the same so it can be had for £41k brand new. Its looking like pretty good value for money to me and seriously tempting. Going to have to test drive a few NX300h's I think. Much more manageable size IMO, the RX gets a bit annoying on back streets.
  5. I noticed the same thing on my RX300 as well. The gearbox was hesitant at the speeds you mention and did jerk a little.
  6. Never used them before but seen them in action and they're much more powerful than karcher or Nilfisk Make sure you keep well away from tyre walls and stone chips - they will undoubtedly strip paint if too close!
  7. Creeping should be fine as it uses regen if braking slowly anyway.
  8. Very tempting actually The issue before was the comparative difference in power AND the lack of other features which I am already used to including the HUD which I find great! Now the NX will probably be fine for 95% of my journeys and is roughly the same size as the RX anyway which is good as the new RX is a little too big for me I think. Going to be an extremely hard decision now!
  9. Shouldn't really be driving an RX then should she? The worst thing is when people drive cars they aren't comfortable with and that's how we get scrapes and scratches in car parks etc my wife also complains about the RX size. It's funny because her IS is the same if slightly smaller so I don't know what it is. I just told her to stick to her car then 😂😂
  10. I usually set the ac to medium and auto and it doesn't make a loud noise. I certainly don't notice it more than any other car
  11. Just a thread following on from DanD's thread on Solar Flare being made available for the NX F-Sport. The F-Sport also has an option of black leather seats with red inserts and stitching which was available in other markets but not the UK: The F-Sport also has an option of the "Premier Pack" costing £5750. This includes head up display, memory seats, ML, 360 degree panoramic monitor, auto high beam, adaptive variable suspension with sport+ mode, Premium navigation, heated steering wheel, Lane keep assist and blind spot monitoring system with rear cross traffic alert So I guess Lexus UK have finally listened to customers and offered the above pack!
  12. Ah yes the groaning brakes. Ive noticed a few things really. Slow movements and parking on hills seems to make it more apparent. I fix the issue by braking very hard to clear the brakes of rust after getting wet. The front ones are fine but its the rears that don't clear the surface rust as they dont get used much in normal driving.
  13. No doubt someone will get one. God its like a massive pumpkin!
  14. Simple answer is no. Not really heard of many tbh with you
  15. Ive heard about the spoiler issues on these before. They seem to have affected quite a few over in the states and the fix is to just remove everything and stick a new motor in. Lexus tend to remove the whole dash to find rattles, if its minor Id probably suggest you live with it but worth a shot anyway. Dont want to fix a rattle now and then have another 3 down the line afterwards!
  16. Generally speaking, driving the Polo 1.4 full whack is like driving the IS in a normal manner, hence why I could get away with it but it needs some revs to go anywhere. Bloody MPG is ******* though, averaged about 36mpg according to MPG calculator app and its £185 to tax! Fuel tank is tiny and needs brimming all the time. Ill prob swap it for a Polo GTI for him next April - unusually comes out only £100 more to insure for a 21 year old with 1 year NCD on a GTI hitting 60 in half the time than it does on the 1.4 S but the 2011 ones only seem to come in DSG format.
  17. Also doesnt work very well on some cars. The self-parking feature on the Merc C class for example, I tried it out and its fine for parking in car parks where there are 2 cars on either side or a wall on one side. That way itll sense the 2 cars or the wall and park between them However, if you want to park on an end space with a kerb, it doesnt recognise it and scrapes the tyres and wheels.
  18. I've never read the manual and coped fine. It's just a matter of going through everything and experiencing it. You can read whatever from a book but you won't remember it till you do it
  19. MY15 got updated plastics in the cabin which are more hardwearing. Also got real metal drive mode selector instead of metal effect plastic. Also got azure blue as an option replacing ultra blue and fuji red as an option too. There was a slight tweak to emissions I believe. Went from 109g/km to 107g/km. I'm also positive that mpg went up by 1mpg across the board.
  20. It's under the settings somewhere but I keep it on long - so yes 3 ft. Id prefer a long beep than hitting it somewhere. Long beep seems to pick up kerbs up front too
  21. Not comparing but just thinking aloud that I could probably get away with an IS that was 12s to 60 as I'm mostly in traffic or around town so 8s is plenty. When I do decide to go for a quick blast I always seem to get caught behind some Sunday driver or an aygo/108/c1 going 10mph under the limit with a black box fitted no doubt
  22. Interesting approach to buying and im sure you won't be disappointed with it. I presume you test drove it beforehand right? Im constantly looking for another RX to replace mine but they all seem to have dodgy specs - one is the wrong colour combo but has all the toys, another is the right colour combo but no HUD or ML (Ive decided I can live without the ML though but the HUD is a must)! Did you just get in contact with the dealer to check through Lexus GB fleet?
  23. Its plenty enough for me. TBH Ive driven my son's Polo 1.4 S around a little bit to get used to manual cars again. Its only got 75hp and 0-60mph in 12.2s but still gets up to speed pretty well Cant remember the last time I used full power in the IS or RX!
  24. Yes the dakota leather is heavily processed. The Lexus leather does have a plastic coating but it's very thin in comparison and therefore you get that feel from it
  25. Unlikely, havent heard of any shock absorbers leaking on the 4th gen GS and some have covered over 100k since 2012 so would have been picked up by now. I think the IS is more popular generally, much more of them around so they seem to get more sections. Like the IS200/300 section is pretty populated, so is the IS250 section and the 3rd gen IS section is very popular too as they sell more than the Lexus GS
