  1. Some tyres can make a noise like a washing machine - best described as a whirring noise.
  2. Yes taste is personal, I agree completely. However, there's still good taste and bad taste - the above bodykit fits into the bad taste category. Its like a Nissan Juke - dont know anyone into cars who actually likes the look of it
  3. The 3rd Gen RX doesn't have AVS - its just standard suspension (or additional lateral dampers and stiffer suspension on the F=Sport) Can't say Ive had any mechanical or electrical problems with Lexus in 12 years of owning them. Just wear and tear items and servicing, thats it.
  4. I think the carbon roof is real...... Lets not forget the car is being made at the same factory as the LFA - hence lots of carbon expertise there.
  5. Use a dirt repellant sealant to keep the car clean. Sonax PNS keeps the car much cleaner than a wax or other sealants IMO.
  6. Oh its not the dreaded washing machine noise is it?!
  7. When you say AFS, do you mean the swivelling lights? They're something that you'll find very useful on dark country roads tbh, you can't see them moving otherwise but very apparent on unlit roads. The brakes have that kind of behaviour you mention because of the regeneration system. You do tend to get used to it the more you drive though. I think the MPG is always dependent on driving conditions. On a motorway run I can get about 35mpg but in town it'll drop to about 28mph as you mentioned. The hybrids do require a change of driving style. Ive found that keeping momentum helps alot. In other words, if you're going down a hill don't brake and just let the car go down itself (unless of course there's someone in front of you) and let it pull itself up. Means that you have to use less accelerator which sounds stupid but actually helps MPG alot DW about the roof bars and the rear boot saver - if buying from a Lexus dealer they'll chuck it in if it means securing a deal
  8. Its your wifes car.... you dont have to like it....
  9. Just took a look at the specs and TBH the basic one (if you can call it that) seems pretty well loaded anyway so Id probably be going for that one if I wanted a 4 seater GT thats awesome to look at
  10. Thats because they work well and are quicker than using a brush detailers have time limits and often take multiple cars at a time and hence works out cost effective for them, not to mention they probably get it at trade prices. For the rest of us, the spray solutions are cheaper and work just as well if not better in conjunction with a brush.
  11. As explained, its messy! Also, doesn't really get rid of marks, just fills them in to look like it has. If you want a good protectant go for something like Harly wax (if you want carnauba) or Soft99 Fusso/Bilt Hamber double speed/FK1000P/Sonax Polymer net shield
  12. Not strictly true about indy service prices. £450 is ridiculously cheap for 2 services. Services on my son's VW Polo at an independent cost £150 for a minor and £250 for a major. Ive been quoted £200 for a minor and £350 for a major on the RX by my local indy dealers and therefore it doesn't make sense for me NOT to go with Lexus servicing. Factor in the fact its inflation proof and monthly payment rather than upfront, I can use the ££££ for other things which give me double return so in effect, works out cheaper for me. Also, anything needs doing and service plan gets me 10% off parts and labour at Lexus anyway, a full valet each year (not just wash and hoover), a courtesy car meaning I dont have to spend 1-2 hours without a car (again, time is money here). I think there's also other things like free puncture repairs for the family (used it twice for wife's car) which is a bonus. I even got 4 tyres fitted for £50 (saved me over £100 in total as I bought the tyres myself) and no bloody scratches on the wheels unlike some of the indies! I cant stand independents leaving their mucky arses on my seats and carpets as well - really annoys me, surely it can't be that hard to cover everything like Lexus techs do before starting work? Also out of experience, Ive found it difficult to sell cars without a full dealer service history unless they're under £10k in general. The full service history seems to be a big thing for buyers who don't know any better. PX is also a PITA. Full service history from Lexus and dealers will give you trade P/X price. If not, they'll give you under auction price as they can't sell it themselves.
  13. Rear lip spoiler, huge front splitter, wider wheel arches, side skirts, rear diffuser, big 22 inch wheels and WALD Black Bison badging on the back! The NX F-Sport looks nice from factory, start sticking this onto it and it looks like a drug dealers car.
  14. Looks outrageous and has no place on a Lexus - Leave those to the ricers and the BMWs Cant imagine it'd be shy of £5k just for the bodykit as well. Wheels will be circa £3k on top..
  15. There's other products out there but I havent found one better than Dodo Juice for the leather yet. Dr leather has the same performance but it works out much more expensive.
  16. The shine is dirt. If you remove the dirt using the Dodo Juice leather cleaner (or a good leather cleaner of your choice) you'll find that the seat will automatically become matt anyway.
  17. Ive had a service plan with Lexus for 5 years now. Apart from a hiccup last year where they did the MOT but forgot the service, its all been smooth. But yes, I realised they hadnt done the service as there was no stamp in the book and they got me in a week later as it was convenient for me. All depends on whether you think its worth it or not and for me, I think it is. My service plan specifically states that all filters etc get changed
  18. The stolen to order ones are driven extremely carefully. They're not worth much if damaged as the clients wanting them won't give a penny if they find issues with it.
  19. Sounds like worn bushes on that particular car to me. My previous RX300 was like riding in a magic carpet - best ride Ive ever experience in any car for less than £40k. The F-Sport is borderline harsh, worth remembering so you're not overly disappointed.
  20. Actually if you read the manual carefully, it doesn't say you need to reset after each fill up. Lets say the recommended PSI is 36. If you hit 35, the thing will show up a light on the instrument cluster. Fill it back up to 36 and it should disappear after 1 mile.
  21. I believe they ride rougher as they're XL rated with stiffer sidewalls. Reports from the US suggest they have some tyre roar. Michelin Latitude Tour HP seems to be the one to go for for the RX if wanting all seasons. currently have them on and not a single issue. I've tested crossclimates on a golf before and they were pretty good as well
  22. Same thing with all cars really and not really worth worrying about or losing sleep over. You could put the key in a lead box. That should do the trick 😉
  23. The hybrid healthcheck is £59 per year and gives you 1 year warranty on the hybrid system. The £995 for 2 years is a full warranty which includes everything apart from wear and tear.
  24. The pictures above are the real deal, the concept is slightly different in size etc
  25. Here are the warranty prices: https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/warranty-and-insurance/#LexusCareExtendedWarranty So £995 for 2 years but also has roadside assistance (normally £125 a year)
